*** waited almost a year for my **** **** truck engine to be replaced and put into my truck. Constant lies about why they couldnt call me to give me an update after I found a new engine block myself because they didnt look when they said they would find one for the truck. They outsourced the rebuild and then tried to charge me more after they got the engine back saying they had to warranty it when the shop that rebuilt it gave the engine a warranty. Theyve had over 2 months just to install the new engine that they had rebuilt somewhere else. Now because they fired their technician to install it and couldnt give me a date to install it today I am going to have to pick it up and have it installed by someone else. What a terrible company and situation. Worst is *** referred over 2 others that have also had issues. One who will be writing a review as well had to get the police involved. What an awful company! Ive had them work on another FM truck that they lied to the insurance which delayed me being able to have it fixed. Its one thing to be overcharged for service its another to be constantly lied to waiting patiently and then having to pay extra to tow it to another shop to get fixed. I havent written many negative reviews because I know how things happen and people make mistakes but this goes beyond a mistake. They dont care about their clients. Im more upset because I referred them now 2 others that have also had terrible experiences.

I used to frequent FM78 Auto Center years ago and was very satisfied with this establishment. Now with this current owner, my experience with the auto shop fell short of expectations and ended up costing me quite a bit more than anticipated for a low beam headlight replacement. Initially, I was quoted and agreed on a reasonable price. I was eager to get the work done promptly so I made reservations to bring my car early as agreed upon. I arrived early the following morning, only for them to keep my car for an extra 24 hours unexpectedly and the car had not been moved from the initial spot that I parked in. I was informed that to replace the headlight, the bumper needed to be removed for an additional price, which I reluctantly agreed to.When I received the call that my car was ready, I inspected the work prior to leaving the premises and discovered that the hood wouldn't latch properly. Even after notifying the technician from the establishment, he lubricated it but the issue persisted. As I left the premises, I was contacted by FM78 about fixing the latch for another additional cost. I then decided to seek another auto shop for a second opinion. The other auto shop revealed the hood latch cable had been bent thus causing damage that prevented the hood latch from functioning correctly. It's crucial for others to BEWARE of this shop and perhaps explore reviews from others who might have faced similar issues. This end result was a bill much higher than expected for what should have been a straightforward headlight replacement.

I've had several vehicles worked on here - my corvette, my daughters truck, my chevy truck - I don't have any complaints. The staff has been nothing but polite and informative to me and even answered my questions on every one of my vehicles I've had. I've seen customers losing their minds while I've been waiting for an oil change and the staff is pretty good at handling some of you Karen's who expect free work lol. Take care of your vehicle, and it'll take care of you. Nothing but MANY positive experiences for me.

They were extremely helpful. We took our car to get new tires after a flat at another place and they sheared off two of our lug nuts. They sent us to FM 78 Auto Center. The people who broke my car were giving them a hard time and decided they didn't like the quotes, after some back and forth we got our car fixed at no cost to us. The mechanic "Bobby" was very great, he explained everything and even showed us our old part and the damage that was done to it, he also explained how he fixed it. The office manager handled the "Tire Place" that broke my car professionally and relayed to us all the information from every phone call. The receptionist and other mechanics we very nice to my husband and I as we waited for everything to be sorted out. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs repairs to their automobile. Definitely a 4 star experience.

I should never have taken my 97 Jeep Wrangler to this shop. I had them change out a crankshaft sensor, the housing and the gasket on the engine block, they lost 1 of the bolts, I had to bring it to their attention when I took it back. They also did an oil change and it is dripping all over the place, I don't think they tightened the bolts when they put in the new gasket. It is leaking from the top. I also need to have the instrument panel replaced, but I don't trust them to do it correctly and afraid they will mess that up too. The part came in yesterday, they did not let know it was there. I glad i went there this morning to pick up my Jeep before they had a chance to install the part. I paid for the part since it is non refundable and took it with me. And for reason they disconnected the K&N filter and a connector on the side of the engine in the front. Do not take your vehicle to this shop, I heard other horror stories and look at all the bad reviews.

Wasted an hour and $108 dollars just for them to tell me I’ll need to spend another $108 for a diagnostic test plus however much parts and labor will be to fix what the diagnostic test finds. Quite a greedy business model if you ask me. And they readjusted my seat. Why do you need to readjust my seat to “look at” the AC? Won’t be returning.Service: A/C installation & repair

I called yesterday for an appointment to fix the AC in my SUV. I dropped it off this morning, had the diagnosis and estimate by lunch, and picked up my car in the afternoon. The service was fast, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the price was affordable, the repair was perfect, the text updates make the introvert in me ecstatic, and the place is SUPER clean! Will definitely be returning…

I been going to this shop for years, specially for my state inspection because they're great at what they do but today I went to get my state inspection again and a young guy in his early twenties assisted me and when he was finished he told me I was lucky that he had pass me because a issue with my headlight. But it wasn't nothing big my lights are working perfectly fine. So I told him I never had an issue with anyone in the shop before when inspecting my vehicle and that I was I been there customer for years, he made me feel bad by replying "well I guess who ever was doing your inspection wasn't doing there job regardless of you been a customer for years". I will return next year just hope another technician helps me out instead of the young guy from today.

For everyone's interest, John True no longer has this garage. After years of building an honest, integrity based reputation this garage has shamelessly evolved into a money pit for people expecting those qualities when taking their vehicle in. After having to take the car back twice my car interior was damaged, which I had to vehemently request they fix. Four days later I went to drive car and realized had no interior, glovebox, or headlights. When I inquired why I no longer had these when I did when car was taken in they replied no electrical work was done but willing to do additional diagnostic 120.00 to inquire. They replaced the window motors on both doors! for goodness sakes. Is that not electrical in nature?? Will not be returning but am still out repairs for lights somewhere else. Will refer all Kirby Facebook contacts to Vern's in Kirby from here on. I have lived in this area since 1968 and hate someone is profit-taking on another's reputation so blatantly.

11-11-2022-I took my car in for an oil change and new windshield wipers. The previous owner John sold this business 6 months prior to my visit. He was the absolute best in customer service and knowledge with fair prices. This new "group" of 3 owners are not. One of the owners told me that I needed a diagnostic performed as I told her that my clutch was starting to slip. This would have been the 3rd replacement. I was still under warranty. So I paid for everything with a credit card 269.00. The young man that serviced my car which I have known him for the 14 years that I was a customer stated that your clutch is going out. I found this odd as when the clutch was replaced previously a diagnostic was not required. They finally agreed to do the work but charge me for labor I would have to wait a week. I went home and called a Master Mechanic which happens to be my brother and he said that it was not necessary. I was at the shop for almost 2 hours and every single customer that came in (8 total) was told that they needed a diagnostic no matter what their issue was. I found that odd. I called them back and requested a refund of the diagnostic which was 120.00 and 9.90 in taxes. They would and did not refund my tax amount which where I come from that is illegal. I was charged 45.00 to install the windshield wipers and then the oil change and the blades. The owner was very condescending in her attitude and tone which I did not appreciate. The young man that took care of my vehicle topped all my fluids off etc. which was standard when John owned the shop. I told them that I felt that I was Over Charged and she told me that and I quote "Any and everything that they do they charge for it". I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau as well. RUN don't WALK away from that shop. So my 14 years of business I took it elsewhere. The owner even told me that it was "MY FAULT" that the clutch went out again. I've been driving a standard since I was in the U.S. Army and my driving habits have not changed and the previous owner even took me on a driving test at my request to make sure there was not a repeat. I passed his test. The good new is that I found a very reputable mechanic that has been in business for over 35 years.

Their front staff is very courteous and helpful. However, after bringing my 2003 Chevy Silverado in for a check engine light (code P0446) they sent me a non-itemized estimate for nearly $2,400 for two front bearings, brake pads and rotors. That estimate did NOT include my original concern, which they later diagnosed as being an additional $450. I paid their $125 diagnosis fee and got my truck out of there!

The rudeness and negative energy here was too much. It was my first time visiting this place for my inspection and I sure will never again go back. I wouldn't recommend anyone. I was attended by a very rude guy that I won't mention his name . I really regretted going there

I had taken my jeep there to fix my A/C and they had it for a couple of weeks. They did not fix the A/C, and charged me over $300 just for labor. Come to find out, they for some reason took my door panel off (which had nothing to do with the A/C) and broke all the clips in the door panel and only put two of the screws back. I ended up having to do more work when I got it back. They literally made the my jeep worse. Do not go here they do not know what they are doing.Service: Air conditioning

After scheduling an appt shop did not start on vehicle for multiple days. They did not communicate what so ever. Triggered the alarm on my vehicle and left it for 2 days killing the battery. When I called for info they continually said they would call back with one and never do. Claimed they fixed the leak in my a/c system which they did not do and to top it off had my vehicle for almost three weeks. I asked them to charge the battery and the day I finally got to pick it up found windows down, my driver door panel is broken for some reason and windows down in parking lot with zero consideration for my vehicle. Do not waste you money or time just go anywhere else. This shop is terrible I wish I could leave zero stars they don't even deserve 1.Service: Air conditioning

This place is absolute garbage. Had some warranty work done. In the process they scratched my bumper and refused to fix it. I had new cv joints installed and it’s been 2 months and the parts are already rust completely on the outside. Not to mention I’m trying to do work on my truck and they over tightened everything’s from the lugs on the tire to the bolts on the brake caliper brackets. I will never ever go back here again. Even if I get 100% warranty cover I’ll make sure to go somewhere else.Service: Steering & suspension repair
