I recently had my taxes prepared at H&R Block, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. What should have been a straightforward filing process ended up taking an hour and a half—far longer than expected. My tax pro seemed slow and inefficient, frequently pausing and double-checking basic information, which made the entire process feel unnecessarily drawn out.
I expected a quick and professional service, especially since my tax situation wasn’t complex. Instead, I found myself waiting while my preparer took their time, with little communication about why the process was dragging on. Given the high cost of their services, I would have expected more efficiency and expertise.
Overall, I left feeling frustrated and like I had wasted my time. Next year, I’ll likely explore other options that are faster and more reliable. I can’t recommend H&R Block based on this experience.

First, I came in on a Tuesday to get a quote. When he quoted me, I thought everything was good, but I was sadly mistaken.
When I came in, I sat down with a tax professional named Rick. I went over EVERYTHING so he could give me an accurate quote on how much it would be to file my taxes. He quoted me $300 for everything. I had to get my last year's taxes amended because the tax adjustor who did them did them wrong. So, fast forward to when we actually sat down with him 5 DAYS LATER. Yes, you heard me right. It took him 5 days to do my taxes, with us hounding him on the status. We went in at our scheduled appt., and we didn't get called back until 35 min after our appt time. I was already irritated. To our surprise, our taxes weren't even finished when he assured me over the phone they were. When we finally finished over 3 hours later, he lied to us about the price. It went from $300 to $450. I was pissed. His colleagues completed 3-4 customers while we were with Rick, just FYI on how slow he really was.

People go to get their taxes done so they don’t have to do it themselves, so you would think since they have been doing it for awhile they would know how to spot a mistake but clearly not they didn’t tell me until AFTER it got rejected that the information for the health insurance part was wrong I gave them the right information and they said it was would be $35 more to send it back when i already payed 200 dollars for them to do it in the first place. It just didn’t sit right with me I’ll never be returning and I don’t recommend coming to them my mistake was not sticking with turboTax

Service was superb. My taxes were prepared in a very timely manner. My tax rep explained the entire process. She was very patient in answering all our questions to our satisfaction. Her attitude and professionalism was great. I will definitely make a return trip next year to have my taxes prepared.

Horrible, i cant even describe how bad the customer service is. I called over and over again and all those times they answer and hang up. I wasn’t even able to get in contact with someone. And i say they hang up cus you can clearly hear them trying to mess with the phone when they pickup.

I’m going to preface this review by saying I hardly write bad reviews and we have done our taxes at H&R Block for years, just in a different state. This is our first time at this location and will be the last.Made an appointment online for 2:00. They called us explaining they double booked and needed to move our appointment to either 1:00 or 3:00. No problem, we chose the 3:00 appointment and got there 5 minutes before our appointment. They explained the previous appointment was running “a little” behind and so we said okay and took our seats. 30 minutes goes by and it sounds like the other appointment is nowhere close to being wrapped up. At 3:45 I ask if there was someone else we could see, so front desk lady goes back to talk to them. Couple minutes later the tax “professional “ comes out and says thanks for our patience, but it should just be a little longer. Uh, okay? So we wait until 4:10 with no end to the previous appointment. We called somewhere else to get an appointment. They got us an appointment quickly and we’re able to see us and get our taxes finished relatively quickly.I’m seriously baffled by this locations lack of transparency and professionalism. Save your time and go to another H&R Block location.

They have various option for setting an appointment. I can just go ahead and drop off files or set an online meeting.
