Ian was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with my BBQ questions and needs. We ended up going with a Traeger and are so happy with our smoker/grill. They assembled it quickly and Brett and Ian came through with a timely delivery! Will be heading back to purchase more pellets and sign up for the grilling newsletter.

12th time is not a charm. I keep going here because it’s close to my house, but I’ve never had great experience.
The whole benefit of a small, more expensive, local hardware store is the old guy moonlighting there because retirement is boring and he is sick of his wife. This old guy knows everything about everything and shows you exactly what you need. This Ace is the opposite experience. A bunch of obviously disinterested kids and peri-homeless employees here. YES, it IS possible to get the one of two older guys there who KINDA at least know what isle to send you to or even make a few decent recommendations. This is the absolute minority and 93% of the employees have zero idea what’s going on. I swear, they are circulating halothane gas through the air system because the employees today were like zombies or just really stoned.
I went to have 2 propane tanks filled. After paying and reminding the cashier (after 2 solid minutes of her vacant stare) to use her secret service neck radio to have a peri-homeless meet me at the refill area, I was notified that not a single soul in the store is qualified to fill my tanks. The guy tells me he can exchange my tanks but I need to go inside, get a refund and pay an extra $11 for the exchanges.
Whilst I’m waiting in line again, a nice lady walks up and asks the cashier and an employee standing next to her where to find a certain kind of tape. The mannequin employee next to the cashier says “I dunno, maybe try aisle 3.” Those weren’t just quotation marks for the sake of quotation marks, that was a verbatim quote.
I explain to the cashier the propane conundrum, she says “sorry.” I ask if I can just do the exchange and avoid the whole refund and $11 up charge. She says “sorry.” I tell her to just do the refund and won’t need the exchange. She says “okay, soorrry.” Then she mutters something about “maybe I can see about discounting…” trails off and expertly completes the refund. I ask “what were you saying about discount” and she excitedly and energetically asks “would you like to wait until someone who can refill them comes back?” I ask if she knows about when that will be and she, defeated, says “no, I don’t know, sorry”
Strange store. Entertaining, but strange. Not great if you need a specific item, or advice on an item or the location of an item.

In Coppell I was trying to choose a pellet grill and received insight on my options but was also accommodated tremendously to locate the right product and make sure I was happy.
Ian and Brett were knowledgeable and patient.
How wonderful to have such a store with such good people right around the corner from me.

I'll never understand why the staff here are so unhelpful and unfriendly, but it's been that way for a decade. Maybe it's the training? I have PTSD and if I have to go here, I'll have a full blown panic attack.

Everything I take something to be repaired, you call them to see the status of your equipment, no one knows about it. Only the guys repairing the equipment and there never there. And they do not tell anyone what is going on. And you keep calling and no one ever knows what is going on. That is why I will never ever take anything there to be repaired. Worst costumer serves ever. So if you need something repaired, DO Not take it there.

Great store, however the manager is very rude and unprofessional. I believe his name is Todd. I’ve seen him act very rudely and disrespectful to his employees, which causes me to go elsewhere. It’s seriously disgusting and unacceptable. Most of the employees are helpful and kind, not sure why the manager treats them so poorly. Get rid of him and you’ve got a happy and helpful team.

I placed an online order for a Chainsaw after a storm knocked down some trees in my backyard. It was ready for pickup in around 30 minutes. Got home to use it and wouldn't hardly cut. Started to read manual found everything was good. Grabbed an electric Chainsaw i have to compare and found the chain was on backwards. Swapped it and cut like butter. I don't know who installs the chains but maybe they should pay more attention.
