Insanely expensive compared to other vets and run like a factory. Add fees on fees for no good reason, even for the simplest and routine procedures.Regardless of my complaints, they get the job done.Lastly, I don't appreciate the sales pitch on products. I'm already paying for the service, I don't want to buy your overpriced kibble.

Dr. Cowser and his staff are an amazing team! They are always patient, understanding, and take the time to explain any needed treatments for your pet. We could not have been happier with how they helped take care of our mini pin over the years. Highly recommend this VCA location if you are looking for a vet!

They are so kind and caring here. Also never tried to charge me for anything unnecessary and was affordable. The surgeon is fantastic too.

So, I am super picky to almost a Karen level about vets, and I love this practice. I’ve seen all of the vets, they’re all kind, highly competent, and listen to their clients. The office staff and vet techs are also on point. They know their jobs and they are super nice about it. I found the pricing comparable to other good vets in the area, and they didn’t do anything I considered unnecessary. You can also schedule online, though sometimes there’s more flexibility if you call. My Pom also hates everyone but loves one of their techs!

I really like this hospital. The vets are all warm and highly competent, they actually listen, and every experience has left my pets in better condition. Dr. Alleman wasn't even seeing my dog one day when I was concerned about a throat issue, and still looked at her and prescribed something that has been way better as far as side effects than her previous meds. Dr. Cowser is so sweet with my little diabetic Pom. I'm like Karen level picky about vets and I've been happy. The front office staff members are also super nice, they always give itemized quotes before major procedures, and pricing is comparable to other vets in the area. You can also schedule online, which is convenient. They also have amazing techs. They are super patient with my neurotic Pomeranian and crazy cats. They have also been kind in letting my super scared pit mix get used to visiting before we do a full vet appointment.

It took me a long time to make enough peace to leave this review. The events I am referencing happened mainly Spring 2022. I became a client of this vet late Summer 2021. I was overall happy with their care until these events. I had mostly worked with Dr. Cowser who I am referencing. I always appreciated the office staff and their efforts to fit our dogs in the schedule when needed. In Spring 2022, one of our dachshunds started acting strange and was off balance and declining in health rapidly. Whether we’ve had the money or not, we’ve done the absolute best by our dogs and consent to any care they need. I spent a lot of money at this vet on both of my dachshunds in that less than a year.I took our suddenly sick dachshund into this vet multiple times in a few weeks in spring 2022 trying to save her. She was only 11 at the time at small dogs often live until 16-18. She started acting strange and rapidly deteriorating despite all of her health tests from this vet coming up positive. I requested full blood work and Dr. Cowser kept telling me it essentially wasn’t worth it and wasn’t worth the money that all her other sugar level tests, exams, etc. were normal despite my willingness to have it done and paid for. They had her for a full day and confirmed she was “not herself” and experienced “seizure like” behavior and instead of running bloodwork he decided she had a brain tumor or cancer and there was nothing to be done. After they said there was essentially “nothing to be done,” we weren’t ready to put our dog down as she still responded to her name and seemed aware in her distress. I also took her to the emergency/specialty vet they recommended an in the near area and they were rude and unhelpful.Despite his advice, we took her to a different emergency vet 30mins away in downtown Dallas. I would recommend them to anyone. They were able to relatively quickly diagnose she has a thyroid issue that requires daily calcium medication. We spent thousands in the emergency vet over a few days because she was essentially on deaths door. This dog now simply has to take 2 Tums (yes the same tums you take for heartburn) a day and a calcium medication. She is healthy and thriving. I am furious I almost put my dog down at his advice and near refusal to do blood work.I found a different wonderful vet in the near area that was more affordable, cared more, and was willing to learn about my pet’s condition. I’d caution anyone to use this vet beyond the basics.Update 10/27: I appreciate your response to my review and have given and even more detailed response via the provided email.

REVIEW UPDATE : We called up there and the Manager AARON refused to let my French Bulldog puppy be seen by the Vet because of some Yelp review... He chooses yelp reviews over a sick puppy.... Does he work for Yelp or for a Vet clinic?? His job above all else is supposed to care for animals!! The manager AARON clearly only cares about social media not the precious lives of dogs. (BTW my puppy was bleeding pretty heavily, my husband expressed that to him and the manager said "I don't want to see any of your dogs until the Yelp review about me is taken down) ..... I'm speechless. Anyways, we drove up the road and got her the care she needed (:

This place may be ok for a routine visit, but horrible for everything else. Teddy, a 2 year old Goldendoodle, went to VCA Sandy Lake for a dental clean-up under anesthesia. About a week later, he developed a cough. I called Dr. Cowser and he said its probably allergies and not to worry. I called again middle of the week when the cough didn't get better and he said it will go away and not to worry again. Two days later, he was vomiting at the middle of the night. I rushed him to an ER. They diagnosed him with asphyxiation pneumonia caused by inhaling gas that was administered to him during the dental procedure. Cost me more than $5,000 to get Teddy fully healed.Again, don't go to any VCA Hospital. They may be friendly but utterly incompetent.

They will take advantage of you. The manager will just slap on all types of charges on the bill. Go to another vet. The manager there is out of control. ?

Unfortunately, I had to go in for an emergency visit for my cat who got ahold of some palm leaves brought home from palm Sunday. The staff was excellent about treating him with urgency, they had even called us while we were on the way to the hospital to get further information about what was wrong. They were ready to treat him by the time we entered the office, and the treatment itself took about 15 minutes. After returning home from the office, my cat immediately looked better. He was still pretty groggy from the medicine, as expected, but we could notice great improvement and this morning he is eating again. Also, the cost of the treatment was very fair in my opinion, which is amazing because we were definitely concerned about the price of treatment since I am a college student. I am so thankful these guys were able to help us in our time of need, and that they showed such kindness and diligence when treating my cat. :)

I recently lost my best friend-partner-work companion- base jumping buddy. The doctors and staff were beyond compassionate, courteous. They even made some room for me so my buddy didn't suffer anymore. Thank you.

Boarding dogs are only out of their cages for not even 30 minutes a day. The manager is very rude and unprofessional.

Called VCA at 7:00 am for my sick dog. They are to busy to see her today. Told me to go some where else. Thanks VCA! Thought I could count on you. Would not want VCA to go above and beyond. Hope I did not take to much of your time on the phone this morning.
