“It's a Candy Dream! Whenever I am sitting at home and having a sweet tooth, and I need it like RIGHT NOW, I just go to my favorite mall in Corpus Christi. La Palmera Mall. When you get into this mall, you have to find the elevator to get to it because it is on the 2nd floor/loft type mall. Oh boy but once you get off that elevator you will get the feels!Children ride on mythical beasts designed to be little scooters whirring past the smell of cinnamon buns by an upper floor bakery. But if you are not too distracted, this little corner shop will charm you!Once you get to the store, the employee there guides you through a santization station. I appreciate this, because prior to the pandemic sometimes I would get a little bit wary of too many hands going into the candy bucket. Well not here. You get a glove and a scoop or a tongs and you can load up your bag with a vast selection. The first side starts out with gummies bears butterflies cherries etc and then progresses to candy belts and the much loved "Jelly Belly" flavors. The other isle has great candy too. I enjoy my chocolate covered cinnamon bears, to different kind of chocolates. My friend always has me run for the chocolate covered cashews he loves. In between there are novelty candies: Harry Potters, old-fashioned pop-rocks, even the lollipop worms! I'm planning a trip there again pronto!Prices are weighed on a scale for accuracy and the employees make sure to scale it right. One heads up though: They require ID for debit purchases.”
