Horrible service didn't even make it down the street before the fluid leaked out of the car. The owner continued to ask for more money every time I called to check on the car

Just stay away. Experience was a combination of all the reviews I read, maybe worse, catalytic converters were also gone
Had to get the police involved to retrieve the truck.

Poor service This man had my car for more than a year I paid him he never refund my money and then he started paying in $29 payment I called him never answer my calls I am tired of his lie's going to talk to a judge or lawyer please contact me if you had same probably

Make sure what price they give you get it in writing because when the work is done the bill is much higher and also make sure you have a backup vehicle because you will need for the amount of time it will take with all the excuses you will be given for why it's not done yet

Took a whole year to get the car back, nothing fixed , dereliction of what was expected, we've had tougher without , much worse than, and paid over five hundred dollars. Had to sell car for three hundred dollars. Then lose more. ?

Alex Gomez, that crook conned me transmission work payment advances for over $3000 in total because I was out of state and wanted no delay excuses in completing my truck . When I showed up for my truck, it had disappeared from there without explanation and I never saw it again. Owner Alex just gives me a bunch of runaround about getting to the bottom of it but he mostly avoids me. He's promised reimbursement for it, but never delivered. I believe he took advantage of me and that he sold it out of desperation for money since I couldn't check on it except by phone call because I was working out of state and gone for several months at a time. As an employee, he assumed the business of the original owner after his passing and has since ruined the reputation of that business name. That business should be shut down.

I went here because of yhe great long standing reputation. I guess that great reputation was earned by the last generation. This Johnston generation knows nothing about customer service, or the basics of automotive service. Still trying to get my $ back!!Service: Transmission

This business is so corrupt....the son had assisted my ex with stealing my truck...mr **** would call all hours of the night and threaten ******* had my truck hiding at the shop...police have been aware of situation...yesterday i went to speak with the owner his father ***....right away **** because upset and agressive n got in my face as if he was going to hit me.....**** has been uaing another person to steal right from under his fathers nose. Mr **** threatened to never return my truck and to send it to ****** for parts.....the poor father is clueless...so sad....my ex fiance *********************** stole my ******* mr **** is helping him.....this business is a front for criminal activity....its a chop shop n trap house ...it needs to be held accountable for its actions .

They had my vehicle to fix, 3 weeks and no work done to it all! Kept wanting money the whole 3 weeks. they kept my money and found damage to my vehicle. NEVER EVER TAKE YOUR CAR THERE

Worse transmission shop in corpus it took over a month to fix the truck.kept on lying on when it was going to be ready. We got a parking ticket in the mail by ccpd while it was being fixed.kept on calling he needed more money to fix the transmission. Worse experience ever

Thief stole almost$2000. Gave him money in October. Come January he still hasn't touched our car. Said he bought a transmission but couldn't show me the transmission or reciept, but doesn't have our money. Yes we have a reciept from him giving him the deposit. After having to get another company tow it off his lot he still won't give back the money we gave him.

I went with my boss to drop off a 1999 ford ranger to have a rebuilt transmission put in on 6/5/18 paid in full at time of drop off. When we picked up the vehicle it worked for almost two week (14 days) then it just gave out on the way to run errands in corpus. It has a 12 mo or 12-k mi warranty. We ( my boss and I) took the vehicle back on 6/18/18 with the promise of it being ready after 3days. It is now 7/6/18 and Johnston's has now promised to have it ready by tomorrow 7/7/18. My boss is not taking this lightly and after reading 11 different reviews all stating the same issues with this company, has decided if the vehicle is not ready tomorrow will be taking legal action in this matter. I recommend NO ONE use this shop (if you can call it that) if you value your vehicle, time, and money. You will waste all 3 here.

I wish I had read these reviews before I took my car to them! I took my car to this guy in August he said it could be done in a week. It took me three weeks to get it back! I drove it to work one night and when I went out on break found that it would not shift and the car would not even start! He came and picked it up after 2 days another couple of weeks to get it back. Has not driven right since then. Here we are in January and he has it because it kept clunking as it changed gears. Then he calls me up on Saturday afternoon and wants me to come up with more money. This from a place that didn't let me know that he takes credit cards until my car was taken apart! DO NOT USE!!
