I am not too critical when it comes to hotels. If the room is clean and the bed is comfortable, I am usually pleased and give a good but honest rating. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room has recently been renovated, but being in the construction business, I could see that the work was not performed at top notch.
There was a tile in the kitchen that was falling away from the wall. The tub had been reglazed, but there were still some spots that were not complete or already had peeled off. And the tub had a low spot that would not drain the water properly. Water would sit in the tub. There was a 2x4 lodged under the a/c unit probably to hold the condensate line in place.
Looking out the window, I could see that other units had mold stains outside from the condensate drain dumping on the side of the building.
The 1st floor was still under renovation and there were electrical wires hanging, plumbing pipes exposed, and equipment in the lobby and dining area. There was a scissor lift parked in the dining area next to serving table.
The website stated the hotel was having a refresher done, but it was more like a complete renovation which should have been made clear. The website showed pictures of a dining area with a complete breakfast, and a swimming, basketball court, and gazebo with BBQ pits. The swimming pool, covered with a tarp was unusable. The dinning area should have been shut down by the health department for unsanitary conditions. The gazebo was strewn with construction material, and the basketball rim was bent down.
The hotel owners should be more upfront about the scale of construction and the pictures indicating all the non avaliable amenities should be removed. I gave a rating of 3 stars only because the girl working the front counter was friendly and accomodating.

0/10 – Never Again… This building should be temporarily closed while heavy construction is being done. It is unfair and shows greed by the owner.
After a 9 hour flight and layover, all I wanted was sleep, but the only thing you hear is nonstop, loud construction throughout the building and outside…
The owner promised a “social” event in the evening, so I rearranged my plans to meet people there, only to find out he cancelled it without notice. Later I even saw him outside the hotel drunk and smoking, which was extremely unprofessional.
On the third floor where I stayed, I found a very large roach crawling in the hallway. The bathroom had no exhaust fan, so every shower left the entire room steamy and uncomfortable. The sink area was poorly maintained with tissues stuffed inside the fixture and there was no soap for handwashing. Thankfully I had brought my own, otherwise it would have been impossible to properly wash my hands in a hotel bathroom.
Breakfast was cancelled and guests were told to go across the street to the Holiday Inn instead. To make matters worse, my TV did not work. I called the front desk for help, but no one was available.
The entire lobby was also under heavy construction, so we could not even walk to our cars through the front entrance. Guests were forced to use the back door, which is completely inconsiderate to people who are paying to stay there.
The only positive was the young woman at the front desk who was very sweet and accommodating. She is the only reason I did not check out early and leave.
The owner should take responsibility and close this place temporarily instead of subjecting paying guests to these conditions. Never again.

This place was a good deal. They were remodeling but yet they were still helpful. Cracker Barrel and Outback and so many other places are nearby. It was a nice stay.

1st floor was being renovated, therefore a 3 star for room/ facilities.
Miss.Sindhu was very kind and helpful. Good varieties for breakfast. Thank you.
We liked the location, near by restaurants and shopping. Not too far from beach.

Have stayed at different SB hotels with no complaints. I called the day before we were to arrive to inquire about a possible early check-in. What was never mentioned was that the hotel was in major reno from 730 am to 930 pm every day. When we arrived day of, the water was off due to the construction. We were told it would be back on within 2 hours (by 5). Upon returning back to the hotel at 6, water was just being turned back on. But it had to be turned back off because there was a leak with not eta when it might be back on. I understand things like this happen, but it was a friday night at the end of summer. Bad timing for a reno. When we checked in, we asked for a room away from the elevator, but we're put next to it. The entire hotel had a weird smell. The room was even worse. When we tried to talk to the front desk about it, he couldn't have been less concerned. Lastly, there is a pool, but it is not operable. When I asked about it, I was told yeah it says that on our site. It doesn't say there is no pool or that it is under construction. It just isn't listed. It's not the same thing.

Staff was cordial, however, the breakfast service was disorganized. They had no pool or ice machine.

Very disappointed. The outside of the hotel looks really nice but inside be ⚠️ warned. I am completely understanding about the remodel being done but oh man. For starters the pool was out of commission which is one of the main reasons we got this hotel. The breakfast was okay. The woman who was tending to the breakfast was so sweet and caring which was the Only good thing about the hotel. When we got to our room there was a roach laying on its back in the bathroom we thought it was dead. It wasn't my mom stepped on it and killed it. Then the first night my mom got bit by something in her bed sheets. The next morning we let the front desk know about the roach and the bites. The gentleman at the front desk just replied "okay". We had to repeat ourselves a few times and then he replied I'm sorry and left it that. Then that night we were laying down watching TV and I saw something run across the wall. It was a huge roach. I am personally terrified of roaches we were trying to kill it and lost it in the room. We called the front desk using our own phones after looking for the number on google. There are no landlines in the rooms. My mom spoke with the front desk gentleman about the roaches. The gentleman at front desk did tell us he has bug spray but wouldn't be able to bring it to us. Per front desk gentleman he was the only one working and we would need to come and get it. My mom went down to the lobby from our room on the 3rd floor at midnight to get spray. Which was a can of raid. We finally were able to kill the roaches and go to sleep. When we woke up we went to get breakfast which was cold. We did ask if they would be able to heat up our plate and we're instructed there was a microwave there. We Do not recommend this hotel at all!! The staff besides the young woman taking care of the breakfast bar could care less about our issues.

Terrible Stay - Dirty and Unhygienic. I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very disappointing experience due to several cleanliness and maintenance issues. The room was extremely dirty, with a foul smell and roaches everywhere. The floor was filthy, and the dinnerware provided was not clean. The shower head was leaking all night, making it difficult to sleep. The overall condition of the hotel was unacceptable and far below standard.
I do not recommend staying at this hotel. The management needs to address these serious issues to ensure a hygienic and comfortable stay for guests.

FIRST EVER STAYBRIDGE, I DONT CONSIDER A STAYBRIDGE. HOTELS WITH THE STAYBRIDGE NAME ARE NOT LIKE THIS, THIS IS BY FAR THE LEAST PLEASANT EXPERIENCE STAYING ON STAYBRIDGE..CHOOSE PORTLAND STAYBRIDGE SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE..GYM DOSENT HAVE SANITARY TOWELS NO RAGS TO CLEAN SWEAT, THE EQUIPMENT IS MEDIOCARE. HOPEFULLY WITH THE RENOVATION IT WILL BETTER BUT FOR NOW ITS NOT THAT GREAT.
STAFF IS NICE THO ITS JUST THE BUILDING.

I’m an IHG member and normally stay at Holiday Inn when I go to Corpus Christi which is once a month. But I decided to give Staybridge a shot….yikes. Walking on the 2nd floor hallway felt like I was going to fall through the floor at any second. Room was dingy and dirty looking. The floor tiles in the bathroom kept moving. There also was what looked to be mold coming through the walls. Definitely my last time staying there.

Yes it is currently being renovated. I was placed on the 4th where half the floor was under construction. The elevator could never be called to the 4th floor. I use a cane and had to go downstairs and requested another room. I was told to call the front desk and they would send it up, either no answer or no elevator. With a cane, I had to use the stairs every time I left my room. One day I had to use the stairs to go up to my 4th floor room and construction debris was on the fourth landing and in the hallway almost all the way to my room. The management and a construction company performing the renovations are not following safety guidelines. There was not a safe egress on this floor, no updated signage in case of emergency, and nothing to keep customers from wandering into the construction zone. The first night there was no hot water, the contractor had broke the water line. The breakfast was never hot and there were never many options. When I checked out I could not find anyone, calling out "is anyone here". Standing at the front desk, I called the front desk and heard someone fall out of a chair in the back room, he came out looking like he just fell out of bed, or chair in this case. Probably will not stay here again, current management doesn't seem to care and don't seem to prioritize customer safety.
