I was really worried but took the chance. Customer service was very friendly. Easy pickup and a great clean car.

I have rarely given a single star to any business because I believe that doing business is hard enough without being trolled by the Karen’s of the world. In fact I can’t remember the last time I gave a business a single star, but sadly in my opinion this one is warranted. After my rental I saw that this business had a very low star score already, and I wish I had noticed this before I rented from them. First, they did not have my reservation ready when I arrived in Corpus Christi. Second, they manipulated me into a huge up-sale from a reserved small car to a SUV that was on the lot. I only had one other passenger and small carry-on luggage, so the size difference was unnecessary for my needs. The price difference was approximately double. They described to me the SUV was an all wheel drive, when in fact it was only a front wheel drive. The car stunk of smoke and strong deodorants to mask the smoke smell. On the second day I returned to the rental lot and explained that the car stunk and was not equipped as advertised. I was told the lot was empty of rentals, and no exchange for a less expensive or smoke free car was available. Any time that I used the car my clothes stunk like the deodorant they used to mask the smoke smell. The final icing on the cake for me was when I returned the car at the end of the trip, and I was sent a final invoice that charged me $350 for “outside washing”. This car was constantly on paved or all weather surfaces with virtually no contact with mud. When I contested the charge they changed the reason to smoke smell and sand on the carpet. No one from my party smokes, so this reason is clearly that they didn’t keep record that the car had already been smoked in. Any sand that was found was only from ordinary use of the vehicle. The carpet was black and had no mats provided to protect them. I believe in being fair and would not have contested the sand issue if I felt it was not simply ordinary use. I truly believe the $350 is clearly unwarranted and I also believe this tactic is dishonest on their part. All-in-all this felt like an old fashioned bait-and-switch from the beginning to end. I will never use Thrifty or any of its affiliates again.

It was cheap and reliable. I had gone through AAA for a car rental and found them. I was a bit confused prior to arriving, as the information given was that it was located at the airport. It was not. It was about a 10 minute shuttle ride, which is fine. But a little less confusion would have been nice.I had picked a Corolla or something similar. I was told to go to a certain row and just pick anything. There were no Corolla's at all. Which did turn out to be a good thing because with the way the roads are and how low those cars are, it would have scraped the front end constantly. We almost got a VW Encore, but couldn't get the Google maps to work on it, so we went with a Chevy Trax. Not a bad car. Extremely basic. But I could hear on the drivers side that it needed to be looked at. It kept squeaking.. maybe the tie rods?Returning the car was a total nightmare. It's not their fault that San Diego is the way it is and the GPS can barely navigate it will the billion lanes... but when I got into the garage and followed the signs, I suddenly see myself faced with speed bumps with spikes sticking out. No sane person who had never seen such a thing before would be willing to just drive over it. I did see a sign that said do not back up or major damage could happen. There was an attendant that waved me forward, so of course I went as slowly as possible. He didn't like that. But I got the car returned and didn't even have to check in before I got an email receipt.Overall, not the worst experience. But for an airport car rental place, maybe it would be a good idea to have some explanation of having to drive over freaking spikes! This is not a normal practice in anywhere I or most people go...

Easy to get our car rental until they put us out in the parking garage and made us stand in line waiting for cars one at a time. They gave us know details, except told us to just stand there, This is Fort Myers airport, first time I’ve ever been here. I have a lot of money, happy people, not even recognize by thrifty-hertz employees.

I reserved a car for 3days and paid for it. When I tried to get it the dates were not correct and I was told that I missed the pickup date so I could not get a car and they were not going to refund my money so I was stranded at the airport with no car and no more money .for another one . I needed the car for medical appointments that had to be rescheduled. They and Hotwire had no compassion for my dire situation and happily stole my money. Read the fine, awful print unless you want to be ripped off

Never again. Had to wait over two hours for a car I reserved a month in advance. Completely uncaring employees.

We had a bad experience with dollar thrifty. We booked car and did prepaid for today @ 11.30 am and due to some emergency we came late and by the time they are telling that the car is not available. They gave to another customer . How can that be possible. Several time we used to book by hertz and they had a good customer care but we had a bad experience with this for the first time. Bad customer care service. I recommend zero rating.

I personally would like to start out saying if I could leave ZERO stars on my review I would. I have never been so disrespected in my life!First off we called the Corpus Christi thrifty airport location as soon as we found out our plan would be 5 mins late past the time Thrifty closes. When I called the manager (rude woman) informed me I would be stranded and that there was nothing they can do. So not only are we left stranded at the airport when we should have been able to pick up our rental Jeep Compass as I PAID FOR THAT DAY… We then had to pay for Ubers to get to and from the hotel. When I finally was able to arrive onsite to pick up our rental the next day, I was informed that Surprise! They gave away our rental that we paid for!! Then then gave us a venue and tried to pass it off as a midsize suv! Which is hilarious if you look at the size difference. The man who provided me the rental signed off on the vehicle inspection without even inspecting the vehicle and did not tell me anything about having to walk back inside if there was an issue with the vehicle. When we came back to return the vehicle 2 days later the woman manage (extremely rude this time) informed me that I would be paying for a new Windshield which again WAS NOT my fault as there was a chip in the windshield when I picked up the vehicle. When I attempted to try and work with her on the issue she refused to assist, refused to listen, refused to make anything better as the whole over all experience with thrifty was HORRENDOUS! Comply highway robbery for the fact I have to pay for a rental windshield and had to pay for a whole day that we didn’t have a vehicle. It was not our fault that the pilot was 5MINS LATE! The best part was having had paid for a midsize SUV and then not being reimbursed for the difference.

Horrible customer service.I reserved a vehicle for a trip a week in advanceWhen I showed up to pick up the vehicle the guy at the front desk has me sign all the paper workAnd waits till the end to tell me they don’t have the car I reserved so says he has a truck and tells me it’s a take it or leave it situation.I reserved the car for a 1500 mile trip and didn’t want to spend that much money in gas so at this point I have no choice but to take the truck. When I returned the vehicle after my trip the lady at the front seat has an attitude from the beginning seems like she didn’t want to be there or didn’t like her job much. She ends up charging me an extra 150 dollars when I ask why she says they are local taxes and airport fees..do your self a favor and look else whereThey have horrible customer service and will rip you off when it’s all said and done.

The worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. Alena was rude and unable to communicate and answer any questions as to why there was no vehicle for us that we had already made reservations for. I asked if there were any other vehicles that I could pay for for and she said she’s not talking to me and she is calling security. A woman came from the office and she was going to help me but Alena told her not to. She then told security that she was not honoring our reservation at all. I had to pay another rental company $600 for the only vehicle they had available. Alena was laughing. I called customer service 5/8/21 4 times and no one was able to do anything. 4 other couples were there also having problems with Alena. She just kept telling them to come back Monday for a supervisor.

My flight arrived right on time, which should have still given me another hour before Thrifty was closed (5pm, which is still obsurdly early compared to everyone else closing at 10pm). When I got to the Thrifty counters, it was all closed down. A security person nearby explained that Thrifty employees always leave at least an hour early! What??? So I had to reserve from Enterprise, which had great customer service by the way. I’m now having to work with Orbitz who’s fighting to get my insurance money back! Just awful. I wouldn’t give them 1 star if I didn’t have to.

NOT RELIABLE FOR BUSINESS TRAVEL.If you don't show up exactly on time for your reservation they will cancel it and refuse to refund or reinstate it, even if you prepaid.Posted and advertised hours on their official website are not accurate and they don't care to help. If you show up during their posted hours they could be closed early for no reason with nobody there to furnish your prepaid car. And they could have cancelled your reservation, taking your money without even giving you a call or email.On-site manager plays games about whether she is actually the manager or not and will spin the situation however she can to blame you for showing up during their posted business hours instead of whichever hours they decided to actually work that day.I make 20+ trips a year and this is by far the worst customer service I have ever encountered-- not just with car rental-- with any aspect of my travel.Extremely disappointing and I will no longer use Thrifty, Dollar or Hertz.
