Room looked like it needed fresh paint and new curtains and blinds. Thin walls. Other than that it's great. We had an ocean view room in January and the front desk person was awesome and very accommodating.

This is a old hotel but it looks like they are trying to do the best they can with what it is. The room was nice and clean but furniture was old. Some sketchy wiring and carpentry. The 2 ladies at the front desk in the afternoon could care less about their job. It was really nice to walk right out to the beach and walkway. Overall, I would recommend this place.

This place is run like an old motel 6 with a 7/11 flair. It is way overpriced for the fact, that there is damaged drywall everywhere, the carpets in the hall are literally torn and stained everywhere, and the paint is blotchy and uneven. This place looks like a place you'd stay in Gary Indiana! My shower knob was completely broken off, so they moved me to another room that had a shower knob that was loose, AND the hot water was backwards! There is messy caulking, a broken mirror, a disgusting stain on the picture in the bathroom, and a giant plastic access panel about the bathtub that hasn't been fully textured, or painted...so I cannot in good conscience give them a good review. I am DISAPPOINTED in Wyndham for allowing such low-level in such a beautiful area...Also, there is no free continental; you have to pay for the restaurant that they have downstairs, in conjunction with everything else.If you are looking for a beach view, please try anywhere else but here!

Excellent prompt customer service by front desk staff they welcomed me and my girlfriend and made us feel right at home with geunien hospitality! let us check in early and our room had a fantastic view of the beach definitely felt like I was on a resort vacation. Will book again and stay again without hesitation. Everything was such a smooth experience made us truly enjoy our vocation. pool was fun beach was nice this is definitely a great place to get away and relax. Don’t hesitate to book! Cheers ?

This is NOT a Wyndham hotel! A beautiful setting, but an old, hurricane damaged facility. The one trustworthy elevator was filthy and had graffiti on the door. A second optional elevator was the cargo unit and it would not open for one guest who was trapped inside for a while. One of the room's nightstand lights did not work. In the bathroom, the sink lights only worked when the fan light was on. The wall-hung toilet was supported by a trimmed, painted 2 x 6 beneath it. Don't expect any hotel bottles of shampoo or soap as they provide attached dispensers in the shower and the sink.Do not eat here! The dining room was staffed with slow, inattentive, and unknowledgeable waitstaff. One member of our party ordered the hotel's version of eggs Benedict and the waiter asked how my friend wanted the eggs prepared. Poached, she replied, and he was clueless about a poached egg. After twenty minutes, a poached egg arrived. The waitstaff who served us was almost unintelligible when he spoke. He could not understand one of our party's requests for a vegan meal, so the cook came out to ask what was requested.I ordered my eggs scrambled and they came over easy. The sausage was absolutely the saltiest I've ever had.The coffee was served in a 16 ounce Styrofoam cup, for $3.50. Refills were charged, and the coffee tasted terrible, utterly terrible. The hotel bar was never open, but an outdoor cabana bar was open, with one barkeep on a Saturday night. Two of our party had two rooms and paid $50 to have extended time to two PM. However, at noon the head of housekeeping came to tell our parties that the next occupants had arrived and they had to immediately vacate their rooms without another room to go to. It was a fiasco.I do compliment the housekeeping staff as the rooms were clean and ready. An additional blanket would have been nice.North Padre Island did not disappoint, but this "Wyndham" was the worst choice of a hotel I've made. Our visit was for the annular solar eclipse on October 14, 2023. We stayed two nights, Friday and Saturday nights.Rooms: See my comments above.Food & drinks: See my comments above.Noteworthy details: See my comments above.

I couldn't have picked a better room for our family to stay in! The king family suite was huge! With our family of five, we were quite comfortable. We only had issues with the toilet being low flow but we got them to let us keep a plunger so we didn't have to keep calling maintenance. They offered to move us to a different room but we didn't want to give up our ocean view, which was incredible! The beds were pretty comfortable as well. The beach access was probably my favorite part. There were stairs going straight down and the beach was very clean. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth at this hotel. The rate was fantastic for the size of room that we had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

This hotel overall was an awful experience. The rooms are dirty and unkept. The AC is inadequate and in October the room was still extremely hot. Mold in the showers. Stains all over the wall. Mini fridge leaks water everywhere. Pool deck has rusty nails lying around on the ground and missing tiles in the pool with sharp edges. You can’t bring your own drink from the room down to the pool, they force you to buy overpriced drinks from their bar that has limited hours. The on site restaurant food is poor quality and extremely slow, took over an hour to get a meal when there were only 5 tables seated. It costs nearly $80 for a bad and slow breakfast for 4 people. The worst part is the staff and management does not care about the safety of guests. It is apparently well known to locals that there are coyotes in the area, yet there is no warning for guests about this danger. I was bitten by a coyote while sitting out in front of the hotel. The staff’s only response was “oh yeah there are coyotes around here”. I walked into the lobby with a wild animal bite and blood running down my leg and the staffs only response was to give me a box of tissues. There was no attempt to assist with us making any emergency services or animal control aware of the situation on the staffs behalf. We requested multiple times to speak to the manager about posting warnings for other guests and we were never contacted while we were there, yet a warning sign at the front desk did appear the next day. There still remains no signage at the entrance to the beach about the risk and that wild animals live in the sand dunes next to the hotel. The manager finally emailed me a week later after I reached out through the corporate website and she basically just send a picture of the sign that was posted the day after I was bitten.

Very clean, comfortable rooms. Hotel Located on the beach, There’s access to park on the beach with a permit. Also rentals available. ATV’s were a blast! The bar outside has drink specials, nice place to hang out and watch the waves. The pool is clean, chaise and chairs plus option for sun or shade. Overall this place is great for a quiet getaway. Nothing on the boardwalk, as far as places….to eat food or have an ice cream bring your own!!!!!

Resort is not the right description for this place. It does house a restaurant and has a poolside/beachfront bar, but it is more like a six-story motel. The rooms are okay and ours was clean and comfortable. But only a few rooms have balconies and the view from our window is of the building next door. Service is also just okay. We had no issues but nothing special either. The best feature is the location. It's right on the beach! It's a good place for a relaxing weekend but it's not a luxury resort.

If I could give this Hotel a Zero star I would, My husband and I stayed here with our infant back in August and it seemed fine until we found a huge cockroach in our room as well as a slew of other issues. This hotel has FRAUDULENTLY charged my credit card 3 times now, we were supposed to be refunded initially for pet fee when we never had a pet, unless you count the cockroach we found in the room, we were also supposed to be refunded for our resort fee for the inconvenience. We have never been refunded our pet fee, resort fee or the Fraudulent charges that we have received for $165 twice since our departure in August.Never in my life would I have thought that a simple stay at the beach would lead to me having hundreds of dollars taken from me and the I try and get this resolved with the hotel staff nothing is resolved and the managers are never available.Along with all of that the pool is FOWL, and not clean, the property is not well maintained you nearly get crushed every time you try and get on the elevator and the restaurant is dirty.Seems to me like everyone that works there is family to whomever runs the place and no-one has any regard for what a good customer experience is.I would NEVER stay here again.

Reserved an ocean view room with 2 queen beds 9/15 - 9/17/2023. Check in time was 4:00pm, I arrived at 4:15 and read all the signs to pay for parking so I did. "$18 for 3 days" Waited in line checked in and was given a parking pass so I waisted money on parking. The pass is good to know but if you are on a motorcycle then you risk your pass being stolen. Finally check in and get to my room at 4:40. They were cleaning it and asked for a few minutes to finish. Which is fine good to know the room is being cleaned but had to wait a bit. The gentlemen cleaning the room was working as fast as possible and was very friendly. I finally got to my room and found it clean and well prepared. Only... 90 degrees. It was 94 outside so I turn on the A/C. This was my biggest complaint. No way to open windows just the balcony door and the A/C never got the room under 88F. Adjusting it to full fan speed at the coldest temp the A/C just could not cool the room. No vacancies to move rooms with a ocean view. Other then that... showers are not for tall people.

Great location, everything else….Please tell me how it makes sense for a hotel pool to open at 10 AM when check out is 11 AM? I feel like that is a pretty obvious con and what on earth would the reason be that they can’t open it at 8 like most places? What changes from 8 to 10? There’s no life guard either way. The only thing that changes is you’re upsetting families that want to use the pool before they leaveNo free breakfast. Cmon… most of these chain places offer free breakfast. Last time we came it was a buffet for charge (with the same food at the breakfast buffets) and now it’s a sit down restaurant. People don’t always have time for that on vacation.Elevators are clunky and SMALL. 1 of the 2 was out of service. They do allow use of the service elevator which helps but there is still a line most of the time.Rooms….Ok… they’re run down. I’m 526, 2 of the 3 blinds don’t work properly. So one blind wouldn’t shut and was super bright in the room and made it impossible to sleep in. The other, would only open about 1/4 so you couldn’t see out.But the couch bed…. Oh lord. The entire top portion (where you lay your head) is caving in. We had to try and support it with the couch pillows for the kids ??♀️??♀️??♀️Also, no bed set up is provided for the couch bed unless u go ask and get itAnd towels…. They do run out. And some towels are stained ?Loved this place, but I’ve watched it go down hill since it changed to WyndhamOne last note, love their pool/bar area. Bar is cool and lively. Pool is a nice set up (when open)Update: 1005 and I’m still standing outside pool being cleaned with 2 young children that just waited 45 min! Check out is 11 ?

The hotel was nice, convenient and accommodating. However they could've done a much better job cleaning it. The bathroom sink had sludge on the drain plug. The shower also had sludge all around the bottom as if it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The window sill had dead and old bugs. That definitely hadn't been cleaned. We enjoyed the pool and easy access to the beach. We would definitely go stay again but PLEASE make a better effort to clean the place and make it look as if the owner appreciates its guests...

Loved it and will be back! Tye room had a view of the pool and the ocean, and we walked right out to the beach. At times it was difficult to communicate with staff but everyone was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant is still new and needs some tlc and practice. Hot tip: bring your own salsa, they'll look at you crazy if you ask for some. Our day at the pool was wonderful. The sloped entrance to the water was very nice and watching the waves while we sunbathe was an added perk!Rooms: Standard room with great views from the 6th floorNearby activities: Walking distance to a couple bars and the beach and jettieWalkability: Walking distance to a couple bars and the beach and jettieFood & drinks: Restaurant needs work but itant bad at all
