J&W is my 1st stop shop when it comes to all my meats. I do place custom orders & I'm never disappointed with my order. My girls are in heavy competitive sports so the meat stick are a must weekly, however they do tend to run out, yes they're that good! So if your looking for that local meat shop for fresh cuts then look no more this is your spot & you to will never be disappointed!

Had 2 experiences with this place first time they were friendly, but the sausage was not edible and the summer sausage was also over smoked horrible, gave them another chance this year, and the owner was in a bad mood cussed at me, called me names because I showed up at 1:13 PM on Saturday when it clearly said on Google he was open till 2pm even called him ahead of time. He raised his voice with a temper , beware don’t go there. 1st Corinthians 15-33 also he changed the Saturday hours to 1pm on google as soon as I left. No one got belligerent or ugly except the owner, had a witness there saw how he acted and what he said just ugly , again don’t go there you’ll be treated better elsewhere.

I have visited many butcher shops all over the world and I always love visiting and shopping at J&W Meats! The quality of the meat is simply divine and cannot be compared to anyone else in the area. The friendliness in the store is unsurpassed and every customer takes time for a short conversation. Shops like this have become so rare and that's a shame. I'll be back soon and I'm looking forward to it. Greetings from across the pond! The German ;-)

I am hard core Cajun and traveled to LA from TX last 30 yrs for REAL sausage. This place can give DONs in Scott, LA a run for the money!! This is my "Go To Place" for wonderfully smoked meats! D Houston

We are new to Crockett and were so happy to find this wonderful meat market. There was pleasant conversation while the meat was being cut and packaged. They made us feel right at home. The cuts of beef and pork were cut nicely and wrapped with care.

Hands down the best sausage in East Texas.The snack sticks are the best anywhere and their in smoked bologna will take you to another level of culinary delight. No one would hate you if you included some in a fancy charcuterie board.

Some of the best sausage and meats I’ve ever had, going to head there this weekend and pick up a whole bunch of German / Cajun sausage. And don’t forget the wonderful meat sticks, best service and quality. I have never had a problem and will always try to get to Crockett when I can. Hope he gets a place opened up closer to Palestine.

My sister in law, mom, and I stopped in J&W on the way home (south of Houston) from our weekend in Canton, and I am so glad we made this stop. The snack sticks were the best my husband and I have ever had and we frequent meat markets in our local area and the hill country where we have property. The sausage has great flavor and some of the best we have ever had and we purchased the jalapeño/cheese link and Cajun link. My sister in law shared her cheddar cheese and it was some of the best I have ever had, and they were so kind to slice it for us. The service was top notch and their kindness will be remembered. Next time we are in Crockett we will make sure we time it right and stop in for another round of great tasting meat! Thank goodness we travel with a cooler! Thank you J&W until next time, but we will be stocking up with the snack sticks and sausage!

This is a great old-fashioned butcher shop. Very high quality meats at reasonable prices! We've been there six or seven times and have had an opportunity to try a lot of the products.The homemade sausages are excellent and there is a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The boudin is also quite delicious. The summer sausage with jalapeno cheese is awesome. They also make a high quality rhine on bacon.Some of the best steaks I've ever had we purchased from here. Great pork chops, great pan sausage, high quality ground meat and none of it has water added into it like it's a lot of grocery stores and other places do. All these things will be cut just the way you want them cut.I grew up eating crown roasts and for over a decade or more it's been impossible for me to find the cut anywhere even in small butcher shops. They actually made me one and it was really good we had people over and the company loved it as well!
