The service and food at Edelweiss were both fantastic. Our waitress did a great job in helping us pick what to order, and the kitchen was willing to make substitutions. Next time I'll definitely need to try the Raclette.

This place was very good. We came right at opening for dinner and were immediately seated and brought our drinks. I chose the Swiss Flight while my parents chose the beef tips in gravy and the pork schnitzel. To say we cleaned our plates is an understatement. My mom kept raving about how rich, creamy and flavorful the gravy that covered the beef tips was. My dad hardly said anything as he continued to eat his schnitzel, which meant it was good. The red cabbage that came with there meals was tangy but not overly so and it tasted as though there was some type of warm spice in it. Come to find out there is some clove in the cabbage which worked really well. Unfortunately I didn't get any food pics as we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will be back!

First time trying this place. The end result was great. There are not many German/Swiss style restaurants in the great Houston area and we have tried most. We frequently take trips the Fredricksburg for the food and drinks. Edelweiss can easily be ranked up there with any restaurants found in the Hill Country. I personally had the schnitzel and my wife had the bratwurst. The schnitzel was moist and not over cooked. The bratwurst was juicy and great flavor. The potato side and red cabbage was great. They had a local selection of beer on tap from Klaus Brewery which were a great match for the food. The owner was knowledgeable and very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to try something new and out of most people's comfort zone. This is what I would like to think of as Europe's sour then food. Bacon on everything!

Edelweiss is a good restaurant and provides a different type of cuisine in the Cypress area. I can't say I know much about Austrian/Swedish food, but it was really good. My wife and I both got some of the potato soup and it was really good.

I attended a local event where vendors were offering wine and food samplings for patrons to try and selling their services to the public. Even shops that were not in the food industry had things to entice local people into their shop so they would come back again. I am so disappointed that my friends & I specifically went where Edelweiss is located to try their food and get a glass of wine. They had run out of wine (1 hour into event) and they had no food to try ...? The owner was standing out front talking up his restaurant...but for me (as most people) the proof is in the food...or lack there of..... I’ve attempted to try this restaurant numerous other times, but every time I have....they are closed. Oh well...maybe this restaurant gig’ is just a hobby for him. I won’t be back to attempt to patron the restaurant again.

The food is authentic. I'm not Swiss but have spent several weeks on vacation over there last 15 years and the only thing missing from being 100% authentic is the live view of the Alps. Postcards on the table help bring back those memories.

We went here for the first time last night and had a great experience. The service was not great in the beginning. A very sweet lady who I think was the hostess, was assigned as a waitress to our table. She really wanted to help but did not know much about the menu or drinks. We sat at the table with little grill where you grill pieces of meat and melt the cheese. But we were not given instructions or information about what to do. Clearly the wait staff needs more training. One of the owners Will jumped in to help and from then on, we had a great experience. He was helpful in suggesting menu items and quite personable. We had carrot soup which Will recommended and it was delicious. We also ordered melted Raclett cheese appetizer which was good. We ordered Schnitzel, Beef tips in gravy, cheesy noodles and one of the raw meat plate for grilling on the table. All the dishes were delicious. I wish we had a chance to taste their chocolate cake but they were all out. Only problem I saw was that there aren't too many healthy options. But then again, we didn't really care and enjoyed the wonderful family experience. We will return again.

Something different in Cypress! Really warm atmosphere and GREAT food! Took my mother-in-law out last night for her birthday. She is a big fan of German food and this fit the bill. The schnitzel was crispy outside and cooked perfectly inside. And they are VERY generous with the potato side dish (sort of a Swiss hash brown). My husband ordered the beef tips & mushrooms smothered in a rich gravy. Said it was delicious. You can opt to cook your meal table side (we did not), but I thought that was a fun idea. Wine and beer selection is limited but very thoughtful to align with the Swiss cuisine. I got the sense of a European atmosphere, small and intimate. The co-owner also came around to every table and introduced himself, which I thought was very nice.

Great staff and food! Knowledgeable Owner who can speak to the offerings and makes you feel welcome. Restaurant was very clean and sits on the corner- very light atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Man did I ever have a hankering for some Swiss food! Has...has anyone ever said that? Ever? In houston I'd say it's highly doubtful. But let's be frank, you need to be saying this. Took my pops here for his birthday because it's very similar to German food and I'm a s***** for german(ish) food. Their menu seems kind of confusing so make sure you ask questions. First page is a way to order and grill your own meats and veggies on a table top grill type thingy. Super cool but I'm kinda lazy and if I'm going out I want to just let someone else do the cooking. Oh they have beer from klaus brewing. I don't drink but lots of folks do. Their carrot soup was delicious. I had the filets with the spatzel (which is a boiled dough with cheese and it's just delicious. Seriously.). The filets were super tender and grilled on a flattop which I would normally say is a sin. But it was so amazing. Came with a side of gravy. Also delicious. Pops had beef filet tips in mushroom gravy and that was just so rich and amazing. Wish I would have ordered that. Their red cabbage isn't "German". It's very much vinegary and not sweet like German sliced cabbage. It's not bad, I actually enjoyed it. But know that going in. What was missing for me was some bread. Some nice Dinner rolls. Something. I wish I would have had some carbs for my meal. If the owner reads it his some brotchen rolls would have made this meal 5 stars. The parking situation is weird. Parallel parking in front but know behind the restaurant it has a parking lot. Not the restaurants fault but figured it was relevant. Syoy!!

We had a group of 7, 4 adults, 2 toddlers & a 4 year old child. We waited WELL over an hour for our food. I ordered the Mac& cheese without bacon- the waitress came back & warned us that it would take longer for our food to come because of the vegetarian adjustment to our order so I cancelled that item and ordered the salad instead. We still waited well over an hour. The other mom & I took out toddlers out to play outside while we waited, our husbands ordered us another round of beers because they thought our food was coming soon. We waited and waited and waited. Beer was never drank. Husbands changed the order to go because it was WELL past the little ones bedtimes.. they offer us a SIX dollar discount. Barely enough to cover one of the beers we weren't able to drink. My friend went back and complained so they gave her a $20 discount on the next time we come in....... what!? Why would we ever go back to that place?! Awful awful service, only 3.5 adult orders placed and we waited forever. I feel sorry for any body who orders a vegetarian version of the Mac & cheese because they must be there for SEVERAL hours. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. Oh. And they forgot the salad and all the sides in our to go order.
