I called two days ago to the salon letting them know I wanted my hair washed, blow dried, and STRAIGHTENED. I have thick and waveish hair so I told them I wanted it bone straight and they just laughed and said okay and booked my appointment for Saturday morning. I get a call at like 8:45am saying my stylist changed. Okay no big deal. Again I said whoever can straighten my hair. Again just got a laugh and okay. I have had the stylists before and he is always nice and considerate. He didn’t ask me if I wanted my hair straightened or curled, as I was also under the impression that it was on the paper for how many times I said it on the calls. He blow dried my hair and faced me away from the mirror and what I thought he was straightening it. I didn’t notice till he was more than halfway done with my hair. Moral of the story I’m not irritated at the stylists, more with myself than anything. But also with the ladies that called me that morning and took my appointment. I don’t feel like I was listened to and was just laughed off. MAKE SURE YOU EMPHASIZE WHAT YOU WANT AND MAKE THEM REPEAT IT BACK.

Lots of sales reps walking around gossiping, okay I get it, they want to chitchat but two of them were cursing out loud. A few of them did ask me if I needed help which was nice. I asked one of them to color match me, I had pumped some foundation on my hand, not even a full pump she dabbed once and said yes that’s your shade. She didn’t even bother checking the other shades. There was one Hispanic lady telling them to get to work, she seemed the better one out of all of them. Also they have a bunch of Starbucks cups laying around. I go use the restroom, no hand soap, I tell the nearest employee (pink hair, one of the chichatty ones) she then proceeds to tell me to use the sink near the salon. I go, no hand soap. Seriously? At this point I just want to leave. Just imagine how many gems are being spread from the restroom to the products.

So I usually like going into the store and sometimes purchasing a fragrance, and I never have any problems or feel uncomfortable. However tonight I went in, and I received help from a woman (I didn’t get her name) and all was going well until she asked me which member am I? And I respectfully stated I am no longer a member as I am trying to lessen my spending habits and she in turn embarrassed and belittled me for it and made comments about me loosing my points in a rude way. I felt really called out on the spot in front of other costumers and workers, and I respectfully tried ending the conversation by saying respectfully I’m okay but she continued to make comments and put me on the spot. I felt extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable being in the store but I brushed it off and continued shopping because I thought maybe I was overthinking. My boyfriend however ended up asking if I was doing okay, and also pointed out how rude and off putting that interaction felt. So now I know I was not overthinking it. I’m not one to complain or go Karen mode, I love this store and usually appreciate the service so much, and maybe she wasn’t intending to come off that way, but please don’t berate people over the membership status.
Edit: just 2 weeks after this trip I once again received more poor costumer service in front of my boyfriend again who picked up on it. My review went from 3 stars to 1 star. This location is ridiculous, the classist comments and yelling really loud that the cheap section is over there at me… excuse me? I didn’t want to write the review and just decide to longer shop here anymore, but after speaking with my boyfriend about it yall need to get y’all’s staff in check. I’m willing to spend money but not here anymore. Thanks.

Dina who rung me up wasn’t the nicest didn’t seem like she wanted to help me when I wanted to pick up my bday sample. She seemed more annoyed than helpful.

Horrible customer service, they don’t greet the customers when you walk in and if you ask for help they act as if you’re bothering them. I hate going to this location but unfortunately it’s the closest to me. I always try to do online ordering and pick up at the counter so I’m in and out. Unfortunately today I had to go in and look for an item, while I was there a lady slipped and fell and the girls at the counter just laughed. I told them someone needs to see if she was ok but, no one helped her. Someone finally said she worked there but still they should’ve helped her instead of laughing especially in front of customers.

Kudos to Jaslynn l, she was extremely helpful in suggesting curly hair products. She also gave me some hair care & styling tips, very much appreciated. Dina & another lady were very helpful in my checkout process w/an egift card I was trying to use. They assisted me thru the entire process of activating & using the gift card. Each of these ladies going the extra mile just made the shopping experience that much better 👏

I had an amazing experience with Lorna C. for my full highlight, She is incredibly talented, attentive, and made sure to really understand the look I was going for. The color turned out absolutely gorgeous vibrant, natural, and perfectly blended. On top of that, Lorna C. was so friendly and professional throughout the whole appointment, making me feel completely at ease. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for beautiful, high-quality hair work!

I am not sure what the exact curbside process is for the employees, but as the customer, and following directions in the app (informed them I was on my way when I was 10 min away, and then again when I “arrived”.) But this was not successful. I was headed to the airport and wasn’t sure if there was a line inside so followed parking instructions, waited 10 minutes, as I understand employees aren’t just staring out the window, and then walked in to find employees to the right standing together chatting (3 of them), and no (zero) customers in line!
I informed them I was there for a curbside pick up and I’d been waiting, then the cashier called over a girl, who said in a very unhurried tone she’d “get it in a second” and continued stocking or putting items away.
I understand this is not the end of the world, but is this store not following what your app is pushing to us? The product was correct so have 2 stars here.
I’m sorry I was in a rush, and may have sounded pushy about wanting employees to help— but seeing everyone standing there and the store SO SLOW at 1:30p, did not feel good as a customer. I honestly would have asked what the curbside process is for them if I had time, to either be prepared to wait, or just not use it in the future, but didn’t have time.

If I could give this location a 0 I would, the staff is simply rude, incompetent, and lazy. Great customer service is clearly not a priority here. Avoid this location at all cost you’d be better off going anywhere else.

I’ve always booked appointments for my girlfriend at this Ulta for makeup and hair appointments for special events, and those services have been great. But after my experience in the morning of April 30, I will never give them my business again. That morning, when my girlfriend and I went in to shop, it was clear the staff had been told to watch us like hawks. We were relentlessly approached with offers of “help” to the point it was intrusive and uncomfortable. An employee even insisted we take a shopping bag, despite us not asking for one, which felt unnecessary and forced. The way we were treated was disrespectful and made me feel completely unwelcome. I don’t know if it was because of my age, my skin color, or both—but it was blatant discrimination. So we decided to leave without buying anything.
