So glad I chose Altar to trust with my dream dress! I’m petite and the dress had beading all over so there was lot going on and they took care of everything perfectly. Even adding to it to help it fit me properly in ways I hadn’t even thought of and such wonderful service every time! :)

I had an amazing experience at Altered for the Altar! They were incredibly timely with getting my wedding dress altered, they were flexible when I needed to change my appointment times, and all of the staff was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough!

I was initially thrilled to have my wedding dress altered at Altered by the Altar. The ambiance when you walk in—champagne, and a personalized message on my cup saying, “I care about you”—makes you feel special and cared for. As someone eloping, this was the only part of the experience that felt truly bridal to me.
Unfortunately, my excitement quickly faded. At my first appointment, I shared my vision for a third skirt to wear during our New Year’s celebration. They said they wouldn’t pin the dress until I sourced my own fabric, since they couldn’t order it themselves. They suggested three sources, which I managed to find a bridal shop that could, and then I returned a week later. However, once again, they didn’t pin or start any alterations and simply reassured me everything would be taken care of.
Then came the frustrating part: in their email they state that the cost due at the initial appointment would be $750. We were prepared to pay for the additional alterations but only requested grace to split the payments—half at the “initial” fitting and the second half in November. To make matters worse, they added an extra $150 as a “rush” fee for coming back a week later like they requested me to do. They could have held onto the dress, especially since they hadn’t pinned it at either appointment. When I inquired about splitting the down payment between appointments—given that my next appointment was almost a month away—the SAME staff member who wrote “I care about you” coldly responded, “Do you want your dress back?” This was devastating, especially from a place that initially made me feel so valued.
The initial kindness felt like a facade. If you’re looking for a place that genuinely respects you and treats you with compassion, I would recommend looking elsewhere. This experience was heartbreaking and far from the joyful, bridal experience I’d hoped for.

BRIDES!!!! If you are looking for a place to take your wedding dress for alterations - TAKE IT HERE!!! The staff at AFTA were kind, attentive and personable! The dressing rooms are large with big mirrors and plenty of seating for any guests you bring! They even have champagne - such a nice touch! They have a little boutique in the front of the store with cute accessories (bows, bags, hats, jewelry, etc.) and shape wear! Parking is a bit limited, but if you show up early and wait a moment - parking spots open up right out front! AFTA truly made the dress alterations experience a 10/10 for me and I couldn't recommend them enough!!

I was so nervous about getting my dream dress altered but I am beyond thrilled that I went here! These ladies were so kind and so welcoming. They treated me like a dear friend and a desired guest from the first moment. Leilani and even the owner helped me both times and they were so considerate listening to all of my concerns even if it meant going over the allotted appointment time. They gave advice without pressure and spoke of other brides without judgement. My dress was completed earlier than anticipated and I got to walk out with it yesterday. A huge sigh of relief and gigantic thank you to Altered for the Altar!

Having my wedding dress altered at AFTA was the absolute best decision. The team had exceptional attention to detail and noted every comment/adjustment for the perfect fit. AFTA made me feel absolutely beautiful in my dress for the special day! Considering I was a second time blessed (older) bride, I never had a large wedding party with me at my dress fittings. The AFTA girls became my cheerleaders and made each fitting an exciting experience! In addition to the dress alterations, I purchased my earrings and under garments in the store. They have the most adorable wedding day products! Everything a bride could need. AFTA is truly best in class and worth every penny.

The overall experience was fine. The staff was friendly and easy to work with for all three appointments. They even accommodated me moving appointments on a rush order. That was great!
My biggest issue was the final product. When we did the final fitting, the lining of the dress was not hemmed with the rest of the gown. They took the dress to the back to be hemmed while we waited there, and sent us on our way.
Come my wedding day, I go to put on my gown and we find about a dozen straight pins still in the lining of the dress and it was not sewn. We had to safety pin the lining of the dress up moments before our first look.
I recommend being very thorough when doing your final fitting and making sure everything is perfect before leaving. You don’t want to pin your dress moments before your wedding!

I have had the pleasure of working with Ruth and her amazing team for both of my daughter-in-laws’ wedding dress alterations. They did such an awesome job.
Fast forward to June of this year. A good friend of mine was getting married June 15th. She bought her dream wedding dress at a bridal shop in Frisco. One week before her wedding, we went in for her final fitting. The alterations were awful. She was unable to even wear her dress. I called Ruth to see if she could help us! She suggested going to another bridal shop and buying an off the rack dress. She saw us the Friday before the wedding the next Saturday. By Thursday my friend had her new dream wedding dress and it was fabulous!
Needless to say, Ruth and her team saved my friend’s wedding day! Her dress was absolutely gorgeous and it fit her perfectly.
If you need your wedding dress altered right the first time, go to Altered for the Altar and let Ruth and her amazing team make your special day the best it can be!

Altared for the Altar is truly exceptional. From my first fitting to the moment I took my dress home, they provided one of my most treasured experiences from wedding season. They were able to see the vision I had for my dress and transform it into a gown that exceeded my dreams and expectations. I can’t recommend Altared for the Altar enough. They excel in alterations, design, and vision—truly having it all—along with a phenomenal staff who genuinely care about each person who walks through their doors.

Absolutely perfect experience.
From the jump, everyone was so helpful and professional. They helped take my dress from something that I liked, to something I LOVED. I changed my mind on a detail of the dress, and they fixed it immediately and were incredibly efficient. They knew exactly what the dress needed to fit perfectly.

They made my dress into the wedding dress of my dreams - turned out way better than I even expected! I went in with a dress I loved but was a little too revealing. They hand-picked some glam lace and helped make it a dress I could wear a regular bra with but still look amazing!!! Highly recommend this group!

I have had an incredible experience from start to finish with AFTA for my wedding dress alterations. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel excited and ready for your big day! Ruth and her team are very knowledgable, thorough and have an eye for detail that makes you feel at ease. I would highly recommend to my fellow brides!

I had a such a lovely experience at Altered for the Altar!! I was ALWAYS greeted with a smile and positive vibes by the beautiful girl that works at the front desk! The ambiance is so cool and always made me feel excited to be there! The girl that helped me was PHENOMENAL!! She really listened to my needs and concerns and talked me through all my options! She assured me that we would get the dress to look and feel how I wanted… and that’s exactly what she did!!! My wedding dress fit like a GLOVE and I 100% recommend this place!!! ❤️
