I'm giving this store a cautious 4. It was worth visiting. My daughter loves American Girl; especially the accessories. However, we drove over 8 hours to visit. The staff didn't seem to care what it took to be there. It seems they are instructed to inform customers they can't provide hairstyles or tea to any other brand of doll. We should have looked into it further in advance, but our daughter decided to leave her American Girl brand doll at home in favor of a My Life girl she likes better. Because of that, she could not pay to have her doll's hair styled, etc. I'm sure they don't want to be responsible for other brand hair quality, etc. We didn't make a scene but it was honestly very disappointing that they didn't even try to work with us. We asked how much a doll costs and it's $115 for the type that can have a hairstyle. Also, please note that you cannot color the hair. The colorful hair styles on display are only available on a couple of dolls - they are pre-colored. Thankfully, my daughter ended up liking accessories in the 1986 line-up, which made the trip a more affordable success. No doll, no hairstyle, no tea. We even wore matching t-shirts from an American Girl doll themed birthday she had. The store has many dolls and accessories on display. A little girl's dream if your wallet can handle it. Wish they would have made it a little more special for my daughter.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend booking ahead of time for restaurant or hair. It is super easy online. Other wise you may not get in or have to wait a long time.

Had the best time at the American Girl Tea experience! There was plenty of food and the girls loved that their dolls were included in the fun. This is truly a children’s tea, the food selection was good for pickier eaters BUT the tea selections aren’t super kid friendly. They do serve a sparkling cider In champagne flutes that the girls loved. The servers were kind, courteous and accommodating (my 90 year old grandmother attended and they were very helpful getting her seated comfortably).Great, sweet family time for our girls! Would recommend to anyone with young girls.

Beautiful concept to bring young kids to interact with their dolls. As an adult who is 46 years old, I still felt like this place is just expensive and it makes parents feel bad when they can't purchase things for their children. Yes I am aware that this is a way of keeping those who can afford it out of the store but even those parents who can't afford to be in the store that small extra add-ons that are there can cost you upwards of $100. Most things in there started at thirty bucks. My niece had her third birthday lunch there. Her mother had planned it and save. so we had a tea party and my niece was able to find a doll that had her skin tone had her features. Her grandmother paid for one I paid for a smaller baby. because she's only three years old and the bigger doll was too big for her to really play with. I'm glad that I did but again expensive. The tea party was okay, I felt like some of the servers had more energy and we're more into the tea party for the children than other servers. I felt like the presentation for the food could have been better. Will be attaching images. Also, found out that if you don't get the birthday package the birthday girl doesn't even get a crown or a paper tiara or whatever they had available for birthday packages. I inquired about getting one for my niece. We didn't do the package because it was only four of us. they were like no unfortunately you know we can't give her the headpiece which I thought was weird cuz it was made of paper. I know that's just me and my older ways being annoyed with customer service sometimes being lackluster. My three-year-old niece left American Doll very happy was very pleased and that what's important. I know if I ever go again that it will have to be told prior to us going there either you're not getting a doll this time. Or you'll be getting something different. I can see how many parents walk out with multiple dolls and not saying that I know their finances. but to watch a doll costing $115 plus tax and seeing parents walking around with two or three dollars a stroller and a car you know they spent upwards of $500. It just blew my mind. I think this is a great place to go if you're a grandparent or an aunt who has extra income to spend on such exorbitant toy. And you pray that the kid doesn't tear it up and grosse Ile appreciate the doll.

Great, friendly, personal service at the Bistro. We celebrated my 9 year old daughter's birthday by reserving the birthday Deluxe party package with the meal for my family of 5. Food was okay but went into it knowing we were paying for the experience. They allow you to borrow a doll and doll seat during the meal if you didn't bring yours. Totally worth it for a huge American Girl doll fan such as my daughter.

This place will make you rethink dolls as a whole but I love it! My daughter and niece have at least 6 a piece with accessories! They have dolls from all different backgrounds, just wish the African American dolls had straight hair, we don't always or all of us have kinky curly hair.. otherwise it's a nice place to come to and a little girls theme park

Great location and easy to find. Staff was extremely friendly and organized even despite being very busy. This location is two stories and has a large selection as well.

The store is nice and the customer service usually. The biggest downside was the bistro. I booked a lunch and tea party the same day. It was a lot of food, the food wasn't great. Because we were full we decided to cancel the tea party and they refused to refund the $50 deposit paid towards the tea party, knowing I wasn't aware of how much food this involved. The manager is the person who came to inform me about the amount of food and asked if I was sure I still wanted to do the tea party... so when I decided to cancel, they said ok well we already started preparing the food... 30 mins later... bc it took 45 mins to get bad food... the manager came back and said so you canceled the tea party right? Bc we are about to start making the food... ??♀️ the waitress that was there working on 4 different birthday parties plus our table was stretched thin and only interacted with my daughter and my ex- husband, both white, I'm african american... bc she assumed he was paying. She was wrong, I was paying. I only tipped her bc I felt sorry for the amount of work she was doing. I will go back to the store as my daughter does wish to do random makeovers on her doll but I'll never spend another penny at the bistro. It's like shredding money.

Loved it the only reason I'm giving a 4 vs a 5 there were not as many matching outfits as in the other stores which was a little disappointing. The salon was great with getting her doll in and fixed up. They had four hairstyle choices and were super cute. We will be visiting AG again when we are back in Dallas

If you're bringing your daughter in for the experience itself then it's a pretty decent experience. My daughter is six but bc the service was slow she lost interest. I had my mother in law joining as well and same for her, she lost interest due to slow service. We had to make reservations and got there an hour early, we were seated about 15 min from our reservation time and had a salon visit shortly after the lunch was to end. Glad we were early because it would've run into the salon time. We ordered the lunch menu for everyone, which for $25 per person, you get sodas, tea, coffee included with the appetizer shown, your choices for lunch is this salad, a burger and honestly I don't remember what else but other items not worth $25 per person, and the dessert choice was ice cream I believe with Oreos crunched on top but I had upgraded to this cake for my daughters birthday. The food was just OK but again I figured this, and just paid for the experience. Her experience was sheer boredom because although it wasn't packed it took to long to get everything. The salad tasted good but I've had better. She didn't touch her chicken strips but I believe it had more to do with being full off other things she had prior. The cake tasted ok, it wasn't moist but it was actually a pretty nice size cake. The icing was pretty good and not too sweet. We would probably never do the bistro again unless we were just doing certain menu items like drinks or dessert but again this was done just for the experience.

I want to start with the fact that this place is a 90’s girl’s dream come true ? I WISH they’d had this kind of AG store when I was a child - I of course had my own doll and still have her. Love the aesthetic of the store on the 1st floor.I WISH they had more matching doll/girl clothes. I was shopping for my stepdaughter and was hoping they would have more in their store to no avail. There were only 3 matching options in-store.We booked a reservation at the bistro and had a great time in the beginning, but service was kind of slow. It was great you could borrow a doll to sit with you during your meal if you didn’t have one. The welcome cinnamon roll was cute and the appetizer tier was too. We should have had more appetizers (or at least 1 refill) for 4 people though. The bistro is also very cramped - it’s even hard to get out of your seat since the dolls are seated at the ends of the tables. There’s also not much AG decor in the bistro on the walls - would be nice to have more to look at.We booked a doll ear piercing service and my stepdaughter and I were looking forward to seeing the doll get her ears pierced but we were told they had to take her to the back. Why pay $20 for that? I could’ve just pierced them at home myself. Very disappointing.I want this store to stay open so bad since it’s the only one in TX now - all of the others have permanently closed. I think they need more enthusiastic staff. I can understand it’s probably really monotonous to work there, but would be nice to have that enthusiasm from the staff to add to the experience.

We had a rocky experience last time, but this time made up for it. A fun experience for our daughter, especially for her birthday. Good food, cake, happy birthday, hats for her and her dolls, and an overall neat experience. Just be prepared to spend money because it is not cheap, and you won't get past the actual store without buying something!

Love the store and the salon! The staff does such a good job with the salon services and keeping my daughter engaged. We went to the bistro for the 2nd time. For the price, it just was not good. They seemed to be short staffed…it took a long time, but we weren’t in a hurry. We had a party of 3 at our table and the appetizers were in approx 5 seconds. Just such tiny portions. The entrees: my daughter got a pizza which was great. My son got the chicken “tenders” and Mac n cheese. They were 3 Dino nugget type chicken tenders. Poor quality. My burger was cold, very average. A fast food would’ve been better. The dessert was good though. It was dirty in the bistro too. Lots of food and spills on the floor. Menus were sticky. My glass had debris stuck on it, forks were dirty. Our server was fantastic though. She was very sweet and helpful. So, in all, we won’t be returning to the Bistro to eat. We love the store though!

Went shopping with my wife for our grandchildren who live near Houston ; very busy store with many female dolls roughly 2 feet tall with many accessories; very courteous staff just a little bit north and west of the Dallas Galleria. I wish there was a store with a similar concept geared for young boys. That would be some really cool G. I .Joe type stuff; but I guess that's not very PC nowadays.
