The car smelled like marijuana. There were no discounts offered, and no one to talk to, after the rental was returned.

Avis budget Rent a Car has poor business practices! Poor customer services, poor product presentation, unprofessional/bully staff, dangerous with customer credit card! However, it was not always that way...change in leadership and merger folk stop caring? Now despite feed back... will become vindictive rather than addressing failed business practices!

I rented Avis' vehicle between March 2nd - March 5th, 3 separate rentals. A different vehicle daily. Your basic maintenance on the vehicles is not being managed at all.The 1st car steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably and had the car pulling in another direction. The second car had a blowout while I was driving on the highway at 70 mph. It could have deadly. The 3rd car was okay. After going to 4 different Avis locations. It was the most awful experience ever.I got screwed with no lubrication and paid for Avis' negligence. Also, I was informed it was my responsibility to purchase their insurance instead of using USAA's. Avis covers ONLY the BATTERY on their car rentals.I would advise you to get insurance to cover the mechanical issues.Although preventive maintenance is not being done after a car is being returned from a renter, you will be responsible.Trust me, I will be notifying your corporate office. It is a learning experience. Immediately call the car rental agency with any/all problems.

Do yourself the favor of going somewhere else, vehicle was fine, service was severely lacking. Took three calls for them to close out a rental that I had returned the previous day. MAKE SURE TO GET A RECIEPT BEFORE YOU LEAVE!!! Trust me!

Don't use Avis at Dallas Love field. I waited over an hour to get a car then was told I was getting a Kia Forte but the car in the space I was given was a Hyundai Ionique. I have no idea how to charge an EV to begin with and was in a city I've never visited and don't know how to get around. Now I've been charged for the wrong vehicle and charged an extra day because of this mix up.

We had multiple issues from the very start of the process. To elaborate, we were looking for an alternative to Hertz, where we've been Gold members for years and have grown to expect having the option to skip the counter. First problem: We signed up for Avis Preferred with the expectation of not having to wait in line on arrival. I completely understand that the first rental with Avis requires ID verification, which involves a stop at the counter, that's fine, completely understand, but our expectation, and what we were told by customer service, was that we'd either show ID at the booth in the rental parking lot, or quickly show ID in a special line at the main counter. This didn't happen. We arrived at Love Field in Dallas, took a shuttle to the Avis lot and had no option available but to stand in a line that stretched out the door and well into the parking lot. There were two employees servicing Avis, Budget and Payless rentals. Long story short, we spent more than an hour in line for what should have been a two minute exchange to show ID and move on. Second problem: The SUV we received was a four year old 2020 Ford Edge with 69,000 miles on it. This vehicle had grease paint notes on the windows, wheels with curb rash, dents on the passenger front quarter panel, missing interior dash panels (could see all the wiring up under the dash) and severely warped rotors (car shook violently on high speed stops). Needless to say our experiment in moving from Hertz to Avis was a failure.

I love Avis but this trip was a horrible experience at the airport. I couldn't select my car from the app like I usually do because I had to verify my identity at the desk. I stood in line for an hour just to show them my ID. Then when I went to get the car at the lot, it wasn't in the spot. They hadn't brought it over yet. The windows were not clean at all.

They only got one star because that’s what you have to put. Flew in to get to my father, who is passing away, trying to get to him before he died. Their systems were down and we all had to stand in a line and wait for one person to get us a rental took over an hour standing waiting for this one person to handle all of the rental issues for multiple rental agencies . When I did receive the car, it had such a film on it. I couldn’t even see out the windows. I even had to wash it and it still didn’t come off. Customer service ever.

The vehicle reserved for me had other people sitting in it when I arrived. The person at the counter gave me a replacement which wasn’t as nice. Less than 24 hours later the car wouldn’t start and took 2 hours to get an actual person from Avis to talk to. My daughter and waited about 5 hours for the tow truck to come. Then I got charged for the whole rental and had to call, again, to try to get it sorted out. Of course, no details were in the system at Avis so I got to go through it all again. I won’t be renting from there again anytime soon.

Soooo slow to pick up car. Not enough staff, and clearly processes are not efficient. Dozen people standing here in line at 10p at night

I don't like the location on Camp Wisdom by Krogers in Duncanville. The black girl in there adds more fees on when you get there. I was pissed because we had 22 hours to get to Orlando Fl for our trip and she kept adding fees on. I believe the car came to like $889. And when we reserved the vehicle the total was going to be $479. My husband doesn't ever want to rent here again. Love Field has plenty car rentals and better vehicles. After renting from this location for 8 years we thought about it and only on 2 occasions we received great car options. It's always limited car options. The girl always blames it on the manager, I don't know which one is the bigger jerk. He's just as bad. We will go to Love Field from now on. This is a last resort, no more options, desperation type rental location.

Check In- the longest line I have ever seen in an airport. Over one hour for them to just confirm the information that I had already entered online and offer their upgrades.Shuttle to rental lot- finePicking up car- the first two cars they assigned were not available so we waited for a third. Employees just kept pointing for us to go to other locations around the lot.Returning the car- got to the location with 2 1/2 hours to spare. Dropped off the car without problem, but then had to wait in a line over an hour long to take the shuttle back to the airport- this was at 5 AM! We made our flight because I planned ahead enough, but I don’t know how well others did.

It really shouldn’t take 25-30m to check in each person for a rental car. I’ve been waiting for an about an hour and a half now, there’s no preferred member desk so don’t expect to get out quickly. Don’t judge Avis off of this location, I’ve never had this problem. I also refused to speak with another agent because he’s clearly sick as hell. Finally got to the desk at 6:22p after arriving at 4:48p and I’m still waiting to be checked out - system error is the reason we’re given, it’s 6:47p and I still haven’t been able to get into a car.
