The Commemorative Air Force is a must-visit destination for aviation enthusiasts, especially those interested in WWII military aircraft. The organization offers incredible experiences, including the chance to fly in the Helldiver, one of only three airworthy in the world. The pilots are skilled and friendly, making each flight a memorable, once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Visitors often praise the helpful and kind staff who create a welcoming atmosphere. The site features a fascinating exhibit about WWII history, including the Tuskegee Airmen and women Air Force service pilots, along with a room full of authentic nose art from scrapped bombers. Inside the Victor Agather hangar, visitors can see iconic planes like FIFI, a rare B-29, and Diamond Lil, the only flying B-24. The fleet includes notable aircraft such as the D-Day lead C-47 “That’s All, Brother,” P-51s, a B-25, a B-17G, and the newest addition, an AC-47 Spooky gunship. The airfield itself is one of the oldest and best-maintained in Dallas, known for its cleanliness, safety, and management. The business also hosts events like baby showers and other gatherings in a spacious, well-set-up kitchen area. Overall, the Commemorative Air Force provides an informative, exciting, and well-cared-for experience for visitors, combining history, aviation, and community in one location.
The Helldiver is an incredible aircraft (the only one you can fly in, there are only 3 airworthy in the world). The team is incredibly helpful and kind. The pilots are great and adapt the flight to make it an unforgettable experience.
