I needed one item from this store the other night, so (knowing this store closes unusually early at 8:00 p.m.) I walk quickly for over a mile to make it there before it closed. I arrive at the door at 7:55 p.m. and the door is already locked. A store associate makes a gesture to say the store is closed as she is manually letting customers out. I explain that I only need one item and that I could be in the checkout lane in less than a minute and out of the store by 7:58, she still refused to let me get my one item. When I asked for her name, she ignored me.
It really does this neighborhood a huge disservice when store clerks are so lazy that they can't even honor their posted hours. I could have easily had gotten what I came for and been out before the posted closing time if Dollar General actually hired people that take customer service/satisfaction seriously. I'm not the only one that has recognized that these people close when they feel like it. There's no indication at the door that says they stop allowing customers in at 7:45, but the staff doesn't care at all about being a business with integrity. In this neighborhood we are forced to deal with filthy stores, bad attitudes, and random closing times from Dollar Generals and places like it. They only treat the people in this community badly because they feel a working-class community only deserves subpar treatment. I will be in contact with my city council person to discuss how poorly customers are treated while businesses like this make money hand over fist and receive tax breaks and other incentives from the city to operate. Businesses like Dollar General need to be held accountable and penalized when they disrespect customers by posting business hours that they refuse to honor.

Sold expired Mac and cheese the date says best used my June 7th 2024, today is July 27th 2024. The day that was bought was July 27th 2024.

This is the worse store ever y’all worried about customers stealing your employees are the thieves customer service sucks now hiring sign is up yet they say they are not hiring only want to hire Mexicans no blacks when the majority of your customers are black..DO BETTER!!!!!

Dollar General is a blight on the community. They’re intentionally put in high crime low income food deserts for profit. This one is no exception. Intentionally under staffed, attracts crime, doesn’t take care of the property, doesn’t care about the community it’s in, parking lot always covered in litter and filled with bad elements loitering committing crimes. Shut it down.

I Love this store I live and this area and if it wasn't for this store we would be without The Manger is Awesome, Very Helpful there's one throw back the Community forget it's not a full grocery store long line but that's ok until we get A FULL Grocery STORE .
