Not gonna lie, I went because of the pan dulce lol. I miss pan dulce so much so to be able to order from a case full of vegan pan dulce was amazing and we did go a little overboard lol.
First off, the staff was amazing. They have a lot of protein choices so we were asking about them and they offered to let us try them…so we picked out 4 and they brought samples. We liked the al pastor and the fajita the best. We got the loaded fries, the elote, and horchata. The loaded fries with the fajita protein was so good and the elote was good too but it came in a cup and did feel like it was missing something.
One complaint I did have was that our food and drink all came in styrofoam and this was for dining in too…so that was a bummer.

This special vegan Mexican restaurant and bakery is amazing. Enchiladas, beans, rice, cookies, conchas and all other deserts were delicious and fresh. Absolutely loved the food! Tip: Check out the online menu because there are menu items on there, such as enchiladas for example, that were not listed in the restaurant menu. Food came quick but request for service was a bit slow. Specifically , since we were hungry and just came from the airport, we wanted to indulge in the tasty deserts while they were making the food; we asked 3xs for plates for the desserts and the plates were finally brought out after we were done eating the desserts out of paper bags. The only thing I really didn’t like was the excessive use of styrofoam and plastic straws which is not environmentally friendly. But it is a rare treat to have so many delicious vegan food to choose from. They truly mastered their craft!

Just wasn't for me. Love tacos and had a craving on good Friday that led me around Pleasant Grove looking for a new spot to try since most places were closed. I didn't like the seasonings used. The meat seemed of low quality. I didn't finish any of my tacos. Rice was kind of dry. Beans were okay. Over all wasn't happy with the meal. I wouldn't go back here. There's too many great tacos around to try again.

I chose this restaurant based on all the wonderful reviews, so I decided to leave my own review as well. My omnivore family members were a little skeptical when we arrived and I told them it was all vegan, but a few bites in and everyone agreed it was phenomenal. I tried four different "meats" in my tacos and I could definitely tell what each one was supposed to be. The rice and beans were also very flavorful and the tortillas were excellent. My husband ordered menudo for us all to try and it was amazing! The restaurant was not busy even at 6 pm on a Saturday, it was clean, and the service was quick and friendly. I wish they sold a cookbook; I'd love to know how to make those dishes!

We’re from out of town and were researching places to eat for authentic and Vegan Mexican food. We drove 45 minutes to come to El Palote because the food looked delicious online and for the reviews we came across on other sites. Plus, the dishes looked better than others we came across- just being honest!Once we walked in, the place felt very cozy and traditional. It wasn’t too loud and finally, a Mexican restaurant that plays Mexican music. Everything was very clean. We ordered several dishes and were not disappointed at all. In fact, it was some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had. I am born and mostly raised in Texas and this place still beats most of the Mexican restaurants I’ve been to and not just because it’s vegan. I am a recent vegan and it did not disappoint me in taste and quality- I think if you’re open to trying it but apprehensive because you feel it won’t add up to the flavors of animal based meals, I say just try it and see- I’m confident you’ll be satisfied. My partner who has been a vegetarian for over 20 years agrees with this review. The service was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We wish they were in Seattle! But at least we’ll be here until Tuesday and can come back. Hands-down, this is our favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. They are looking to do shipments and we will be taking advantage of that. We met the owners- they are very kind people and it was an honor to be around them and the staff. Thank you so much for the experience, the food and your friendliness!Dietary restrictions: Vegan. Vegetarian and meatless diet friendly.Kid-friendliness: Yes! For all ages!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes. Easy. Bathrooms also accessible. Tables too.

The crispy chicharron was out of this world! They have the vegan meats down to a flavorful and delicious science. Also, their desserts are phenomenal! Will be going out of my way for many years to eat here for sure.

It's a small restaurant and it hides back from the road slightly. There is a cute little patio with outdoor seating. The inside of the restaurant is pretty neat with homemade seating and some very nice hand painted murals. There's not a huge pan selection, but it's a nice addition for takeout. There was a little bit of a line to order and only one girl taking care of everything plus helping what looked to be a new helper.

My favorite vegan taco spot and even if you are not vegan I have brought all of my meat eating friends and they love it too! It is my favorite authentic Mexican type vegan tacos I have ever had - so far better than any spot I've had in Los Angeles or New York! You can not go wrong with any of vegan taco platter and they let you do mix and match tacos - my fav right now are the fajita tacos.

After waiting over a year to be in the neighborhood, I finally got to go...and it did not disappoint! On site parking is a bonus. The bathroom was clean. Plenty of seating for the space. Good service. The tacos were delicious. We tried 4 different kinds of protein, all tasty. The flautas were perfectly crispy. I had low expectations for the rice and beans because at other places they're bland like an afterthought, but both were very good here! We were stuffed by the time we left but made sure to take some frozen asada to go, along with a variety of sweet breads of course. I just had a puerquito as a late night snack and it brought me back to my childhood. Thanks El Palote, for being authentic. I appreciate you and can't wait to be back!
