After reading about the BREAK-INS will not be renting. I immediately filter to NEGATIVE reviews. ALWAYS. And the dry responses from the so-called owner are infuriating even for non-customers. This is a BIG DEAL. And if no one has caught on, management is in on the break ins. Duh

9/19 Update** Continued Gross Negligence40 units were broken into in the most recent round. 10 units were broken into last round. We're still waiting on a call from corporate. When we asked if there was a number at which we could reach them, James Howell responded "No- only they can call you." Still waiting...Update on 9/18**** NEGLIGENCETHIS COMPANY IS COMPLETELY NEGLIGENT; PLEASE SEE PHOTOS BELOW. STILL HAVENT RECEIVED A CALL FROM MANAGEMENT AS PROMISED.I’ve added three photos below. The first was the day we moved into the storage unit. The second was after our first theft (please note the multiple missing TVs from the bottom left corner of the photo) and the third from today, after we were finally able to get into our unit after being notified of the second break in. It’s completely ransacked and will take hours to identify what’s missing, not to mention repacking and the time and and expense we’re about to incur to move our items to A NON- NEGLIGENT LOCATION. Both times thefts occurred it happened to multiple units.IF YOU WANT YOUR STORED ITEMS TO STILL BE IN YOUR STORAGE UNIT WHEN YOU RETRIEVE THEM, DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. The company is aware that this is a reoccurring issue in short spans of time (please see other reviews noting thefts just prior to when we began renting our unit in mid august) and has done nothing to remedy the situation.*** update on the evening of 9/16 after receiving the below “response” from the company.Per the company’s request, I called the number provided in their response to this review earlier evening with the hope that I could speak with them “as soon as possible”. I reached automated answering. I then proceeded through 3 layers to go to facility manager. That number rang until it got picked up and restarted at the top of the auto loop. At no time was I connected to a person.To the business: How can we arrange for you to contact me? Given that you’re closed tomorrow and the above has been entirely consistent with my experience, it seems you’re more focused on responding to honest google reviews “after hours” than actually addressing a known problems, such as numerous and repeated thefts. It doesn’t seem that you have genuine interest in communicating with me or addressing this issue.Original review posted 9/16:Our unit has had two breaks ins in less than a month as part of mass break ins with seemingly little concern from the staff. If you don’t value what’s in your unit, this is your place. However, if you’re looking for secure storage, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Excellent staff, nice facility, made the process easy. AVOID PUBLIC STORAGE, they dodge the customer, nobody to help, endless miserable automated calls. Extra Space Storage is worlds better.

James was very informative and patient with me. He took time to show me the different unit options and their locations. Also, had he not mentioned how movers typically charge for mileage/distance between pick up and drop off, I would've never considered this as a factor towards my moving cost. So thankful he was able to help me. Thanks, James!!!

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT PUTTING YOUR STUFF HERE AT ALL!! PLEASE DON’T DO IT.Horrible experience, terrible customer service and employees.40 storages were broken into overnight!!!No cameras to be found by the storages, no alarms and no codes to get in except the main entry which means once you are in you are in!!Burglary happens and the company doesn’t take accountability for it or even tell you what happened exactly that night. All you can hear from the stuff “ nothing we can do, call the insurance”Also, this isn’t the first time, two break ins in one month is crazyyy! And might be the same people who knows! They felt comfortable breaking into the storages again because simply no action was taken to secure these storages.James Howell the manager didn’t even bother himself to call these customers or even email them to apologize for what happened! And he is very rude on the phone make you feel uncomfortable like he is paying you not you paying them to use the space.Save yourself the headache and stay away from ExtraSpace.

This is my first time renting an unit with this company. I was impressed with James Howell. He took care of my needs. He gave me a tour, explained me everything and helped me with the paperwork. He’s such a nice person. Smart, dedicated, hardworking, humble, compassionate and understanding. I recommend him to anyone.

If you want the best storage company in Dallas, it is James at the Lemon location. Very professional, kind and know the business. He gave the first month free which allowed me to put my boxes in early. Then we were able to put the furniture and the boxes in a 10X15 storage. Great job! Simply the best. carol Johnson

In a year my unit went from $38 to $114 for a 5x5 closet. No carts to use, they were stolen, for that kind of money I would think I would have some sort of a cart to use. That is all just not right. My account was closed and deleted and I hadn't even turned in my move out yet. They said they saw I moved out so they closed out everything for me (mind you I had paid for the full month) and can make additional money on my already expensive unit. I will never give a recommendation for this storage facility. ?
