They need to change the name from Knife, to Chainsaw.Because that's what it takes to cut your 100 dollar steak

PLEASE ask for Ryan for your service. He deserves to be in a Michelin restaurant, he is beyond amazing.PLEASE ask if Sid is at the kitchen and cooking your steak. His personality is just as good as his steaks. This restaurant deserves a 12/10 for service, attention, and food.I wish I could take Ryan and Sid back home to Miami.

Honestly can’t believe the experience tonight! Absolutely a horrible experience this evening. We live close by and tonight we didn’t feel like the drive to our favorite steakhouse (Town hearth) so we decided to stop into knife. I will say our other experiences have been really good but tonight was an epic failure! We arrived at 8:25 and cancelled our reservation to eat in the restaurant and decided to sit at the high top table in the bar. The experience started well, we ordered a couple of appetizers a bottle of wine and she took our entree order all at the same time. We thought great! Well it was until it was not…the apps came out really quickly and were perfect and then we sat and waited and waited and waited until finally 20 minutes later two of the steaks came out…the plate was ice cold on both and they were severely overcooked. Then 5 minutes later the other steak comes out and it was correct….we were still waiting on the sides and then ten minutes later the sides came . After the wait and the cold over cooked steaks we sent the two overcooked and cold steaks back…the server apologized profusely and said new steaks were being fired as top priority…the sides sat at the table with one steak…so after 10 minutes the steak that was correct we had them eat and enjoy some sides…and guess what the entire meal was finished and still no straps. We get the server and she says 5 more minutes at minute 25…my wife says the apps have settled and she no longer wants her steak. The server apologized again and goes to the kitchen and 5 minutes later she returned with a steak…cold plate but steak was ok. We get it to go and ask for the check…they removed the two steaks and we paid and left. The steaks at this place were 50.00 each and 67.00 dollars…you can get a better steak and experience at Texas Roadhouse.

I really wanted to like this place. I had high expectations with the reviews I had read that it was Michelin Star worthy. I have been to the location at Willowbend in Plano, and personally was over all a way better experience. We ordered an appetizer that had tuna & grapefruit, I sent it back because the fish wasn't nearly as good as when I had it in Plano. The bartender wasn't very friendly, outgoing, or attentive. Asked for a dirty martini and it was the dirtiest martini and not enjoyable. I had to water it down. The steak we ordered was what I would say - average. The pommes puree might have been the best thing I had. The bar/restaurant is large and the atmosphere is nice. That was probably the best part of the whole experience. I wouldn't return. There are way better steak places around.

We came to Knife with high expectations since it is one of the few Dallas restaurants that has a Michelin star. The Highland greeted us with complimentary valet and the host had our reservation handled quickly. The seating was rather odd and not the typical , private arrangement : there were a lot of tables placed close one another and your best luck would be if you got a booth in the back by bringing a group of 4-6 (not the ideal place for a couples date). We got the arugula salad and it was mostly lettuce. The avocado fries were delicious and the beets were kind of plain. The lobster was worth it (big portion) and the steak was tough for a filet and not the juiciest. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they did provide a nice cake and fun dessert at the end. Overall, I’d give this place a 4.3/5 and most likely will not be back.Parking: The Highland valets for the Knife. Just tipThe workers as you leave , they usually leave your car on the front ramp.

An array of choices. We choose several to share. Everything was on point. Some of us ordered seconds to spread around again!

My husband & I went in for our valentines lunch. We had heard such great things about this place. We drove over a hour to get to the restaurant. The main reason for coming was the Mac and cheese. They don’t offer it for lunch so that sucked. When we got our food my steak was burnt on the outside and the inside wasn’t medium rare. I asked for it recooked I’m paying $50 I want it to be the way I want. The kitchen is open and we were the only people there. We could hear the cook pretty much treating the server like trash. Saying we’re wrong and he’s right. Finally after so much back n forth he finally agreed to remake it. By the time I got my steak my husband had already been done with his for at least 10 minutes. Recooking it took way too long. When I finally get it cooked the way I liked the steak was bland & not good. Walking to the car my husband compared his burger to Whataburger saying a fast food burger would have been better than what he ate.I feel bad for our server Mari she was absolutely fantastic. Both my husband & I were in the service industry for years so we understand it’s not always the servers fault.

Made a reservation here for my husband's birthday dinner. The food was phenomenal, every bite a joy, but the service really did not meet expectations.1) our male waiter immediately cracked a misogynistic joke (men like steak more than women lol, dude it's 2024);2) the tablet we were given to browse the drink menu simply would not show cocktails and when our waiters finally came back around to get our order, I told them this and they were like "oh it's that one" -- so they knew they had a tablet with an issue and didn't even bother testing whether it would work before passing it to us;3) the printed menu simply did not have the steak frites on it, which is on the website and is available in the kitchen;4) the table next to us was seated 15 minutes after us, but received their food, their sides, their drinks, paid their bill, and left before we received our entrees.I'll be daydreaming about my perfect steak frites forever, but I just don't feel like Knife met our expectations for service at a restaurant that wants to be at a certain calibre.

I came here with my aunt and we had a fantastic experience. Everything was wonderful and amazing. They did over salt my first steak, but were very quick to fix it and had a new steak out right away that was perfect! The desserts were definitely the best part aside from the wonder server we had that evening.

Truly, the hospitality here has been above and beyond. As a hospitality leader, and business traveler I often find myself disappointed in restaurants over the past few years because many establishments have lost the art of service.. Not the team at The Knife! Every touch point was thoughtful, each interaction was meaningful and the culinary team remembered I committed to coming back to dine a second night and actually made a point to engage with me when I did return. DO NOT miss this gem when staying near SMU! It’s not your average hotel restaurant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Cheers Chef and team!

I recently stayed at the Highland Curio Collection by Hilton in Dallas during a work trip with my company, LVMH, for two nights and three days. I had a disheartening experience at your restaurant, The Knife, and felt compelled to share my disappointment.Upon approaching the host to request a table for four, I was denied seating based on the perception that my attire was too casual. My outfit, a suede mod 60’s inspired dress with knee-high boots and gold accessories, was mistaken for a t-shirt. The host immediately dismissed my request and claimed that her manager wouldn't allow me in. She suggested sitting at the bar, assuring me it had the same menu as the dining room.Seeking clarification, I requested to speak with the manager, who took over 10 minutes to address the situation. To my surprise, he acknowledged that my outfit had been inaccurately described to him and granted me permission to dine. However, the entire incident left me feeling upset, hurt, and embarrassed.Inquiring about a dress code, the manager mentioned a website posting that I couldn't find upon checking later.Disheartened by the experience, my coworkers and I chose to dine elsewhere. Upon returning to our rooms, everyone was excited to find a bottle of champagne and a handwritten note, except for me. It's disappointing to be the only one excluded from this gesture of apology. As a professional and a black woman, I expect fair and equal treatment in any establishment. Unfortunately, my experience at The Knife fell short of those expectations. As the only black person in my group, I can’t help but feel as if I was singled out because of it, and then confirmed after excluded from their gesture of apology.
