Maybe you’ll find a wine that you can’t find at the big stores but don’t expect warmth and graciousness from Thierry.

Wonderful place with carefully selected wines. My husband and I came in today and were welcomed by the owner. He was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. It was obvious that he had spent a lot of time into curating superior wines at all price points. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an elevated wine experience.

Unfortunately they were not able to accommodate a very specific need we had, but they gave us a great referral, and we really appreciate it!

What an absolute gem.I was looking for a convenient liquor store near a friend's house and I happened upon The Caveau. I had heard whispers of some little Francophile wine shop in East Lake Highlands neighborhood last year. And I was excited to be heading there to choose some thing tasty to go with dinner. I try to drink only organic wine and I had old world reds on the mind. I didn't have a lot of hope that I would find these en masse but I was wrong! I was greeted promptly by a friendly gentleman who very clearly appeared to be the owner. I told him what I was looking for and he just started handing me bottles! I had to tell him to stop at five because my arms could not hold any more. :) ...and they were all organic!! His stories started coming out about small Italian family wineries and minerally French soil...and I wished I could just stay and hang out and hear about all of these treasures. It was truly a collection. And it was not overrun with cases and cases of dusty wine. It was airy and beautiful and well presented. The most impressive thing was that everything I bought was under $20. I've worked through nearly all of them to this point and I will tell you that they were all delicious. My only regret is that I no longer live in Dallas and I have to drive four hours to get back to that little wine shop and stock up soon! Just go! You will be delighted.

Truly a wonderful little wine shop across the parking lot from El Vecino and tucked behind the Green Spot in this Lake Highlands shopping village off Buckner at Northcliff. Smart, friendly staff. Wonderful place to purchase from a wide variety of wines. Friday evening wine tastings are lovely events with neighbors chatting about their week and going home with a bottle or two. I got an immediate response from an e-mailed question; you can too:

I’ve NEVER had Modena balsamic vinegar or Reggio Emilia. I know my Italian mutts/ Slavic boys would like to create something in America with an aging process but organic ? grapes and organic wine ? vinegar. I suggest Steam farming a portion (crop yield) for the fancy buyers. Aging in sections 8-12-20-25 years.
