Merit was phenomenal to work with. I compared 3 different hospice services in person and there really was no comparison. The level of dignity and respect for the last weeks of my wife's life carried a lot of critical functionality and services that even required assisted living as well as hospice.
Andrew was my liaison and was on top of every detail. After it was all over, he continued to check on me. Hannah was the appointed RN. She was a perfect fit. She walked us both through every step. Marissa was the best CNA I have ever seen. She was so kind and strong throughout the whole time.
They have social workers, a Chaplain that helped me a lot and TONS of references for whatever you may need. All that and they just felt like family the whole time. My wife told me she felt spoiled.
I also went to Medicare.gov and discovered the ratings nationally that the FAMILY members submit. Merit is the highest across the nation, but significantly higher in Texas as well.
Do yourself a favor, get the best so you and your loved one can be your best.

Merit was amazing to work with. They walked me through every step in the process, answered all of our questions, and were there for us 24/7. The aides and nurses cared for our Mom as if she were their own. My family and I felt like we had a team of angels walking this journey with us. I would highly recommend Merit.

Extremely professional and easy to work with. I had no idea what I was doing or how to help Mom. She was going back and forth to hospital and rehab centers in a never-ending cycle that was so confusing for her and scary. Merit answered my call and arrived the next morning. They set mom up in a single day and had her back in Assisted Living where she could be comfortable and cared for. They took care of everything and made the entire process stress-free. Putting a parent in hospice is a difficult decision and when the time comes it was nice having people who were experienced, kind, and supportive.

Le-a is so amazing! She came in and explained everything to the t while my daughter was in icu. She treated our daughter and family with care and respect. Le-a and Chaplain Samson even joined us on our daughter's 20th birthday before she passed. Chaplain Samson also did the sermon at our daughter's funeral. He did an amazing job with kindness and compassion for our family. Merit Hospice, Le-a and Chaplain Samson are absolute gems to your company. And my family and I also love our daughter's memory bear. Thank you so much! God Bless!

This has been one of the most difficult things our family has dealt with. I can say it would have been impossible without L-ea. Her compassion and honesty about what we were about to go through can only be described as professional care with a feather touch. We have been very fortunate to add Amy (our hospice nurse) to our team. She is a shining example of how a loved one should be treated. Bottom line, if you need theae wonderful peoples service, you are most likely lost in the woods and hurting. They do an above and beyond job to make the process of losing a loved one as painless as can be. Thank you guys!

Our first experience with hospice care was for my dad, who had stage 4 cancer, with Merit. The entire staff, from intake to daily care to nursing to social worker to chaplain, was caring and communicative. They were diligent in ensuring the care was necessary, covered, and delivered in a compassionate manner. We're now using their services for my mom, and knowing they're there is a blessing.

During one of our family's most challenging times, the fantastic staff at Merit Hospice was a true source of light and support. They provided exceptional care, guidance, and compassion from the beginning.
Kim, the community liaison, helped us navigate the process and quickly set us up with the services we needed. Kim set an incredible bar of compassion for the rest of the hospice team. From there, things only continued to exceed our expectations.
Nurses Lara and Hannah were phenomenal. They understood exactly what was needed and executed every step of the process with outstanding efficiency and compassion. They made sure our loved one had all the supplies needed and were incredibly attentive to her emotional and physical needs. Their professionalism and genuine kindness provided a sense of relief during an overwhelming time.
Chaplain Deborah offered support for our loved one and our family. Her warmth and understanding were a great comfort to us. Jane, our social worker, went above and beyond, explaining available resources and answering our questions. Both these women are gems!
The communication from the entire team was top-notch. Everyone made us feel heard and supported. We always knew who to contact when we needed help or had questions.
Even our 24-hour nurses, nearing the end of the process, were incredible. They provided invaluable care during the most difficult hours, guiding us through each step with gentle professionalism, making an incredibly emotional time easier to bear.
I cannot recommend Merit Hospice highly enough. Their team is filled with compassionate, skilled, and dedicated professionals who genuinely care about their patients and their families. Thank you, Merit Hospice, for being there for our family.

Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication were evident in every interaction. Not only did she provide expert medical care, but she also offered comfort and support to our entire family. Susan truly made a challenging journey a little bit easier with her kindness and genuine concern. We will always be thankful for her care and love she brought into our lives during this time. Thank you Susan & Merit Hospice.

Recently my husband was hospitalized with heart issues. When it seemed that his condition was critical and not reversible, I needed support. Le-a, Clinical Liaison with Merit Hospice, was there for me! She guided me through his end-of-life journey along with the nurses, Amy and Courtney, who provided his comfort care. I’m extremely thankful that his passing was painless and peaceful. Merit Hospice—5 Stars!!

I can not recommend Merit Hospice highly enough, my wife was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, well since that diagnosis I knew we would most likely deal with hospice at some point towards the end. I always thought dealing with hospice would be a terrible experience but it was quite the opposite, the entire Merit team could not have been better, they were my advocate with the hospital when I needed help and the were there to comfort and support me and my family during my wife’s passing. Le-a, Laura and the entire team were absolutely fantastic. I will never be able to thank them for everything they did to support my family during that very difficult time.

I wish to rave about the high level of service provided by Suji in our short time of higher need. As a case supervisor, she told me that she doesn't work on weekends ... and yet she was there on Saturday, and again on Sunday — spending lots of time with my wife and me both days, plus Friday, Monday and Tuesday, answering lots of questions. The on-call nurse Julie was also great.

Words cannot express our thanks to Merit and their staff for the amazing care they have given our dad since he has been in their care. Lara, his primary care nurse, is an angel in disguise for her patients and their families. She truly cares giving them a voice in their care which is extremely important for their dignity. Dad lights up anytime her sees her. She routinely consults with us on his care and always listens to our concerns. When dad fell in October and had to have emergency surgery, she rushed to the hospital to sit with my sister. No family wants to think about hospice and usually you have to make a decision quickly when deciding. From day one, Kate and her care team guided us through the process which gave us a peace of mind and allowed us to spend more quality time with dad. I highly recommend Merit for anyone needing hospice care.

We unexpectedly needed hospice services for my mom 2 months ago. The entire team at Merit has been awesome! They are so caring and supportive. Our nurse, Lara is the absolute best! She is in constant communication with us and keeps us updated on everything. Most importantly, she is so gentle and sweet with my mom. I also appreciate the regular check-ins we receive from the social worker and chaplain. Lastly, we have had 2 instances where something unexpected came up and and both times a nurse was able to get to my mom very quickly - they were both so responsive
Overall, Merit has given us a peace of mind by providing incredible care to my mom and thorough communication and support to me.
