I took my two dogs to Midway Hollow for teeth cleanings. My former vet would have cost double. I love MHPC and have been going there for several years now. I recommend Dr. Carroll and Dr. Clark.

We love Midway Hollow! Our yellow lab Baylee has been going to Dr. Mitchell for 2 years! They love Baylee and take such good care of her. She had so many allergy issues and they helped us eventually go to an allergy specialist. Great prices and sweet techs make thus place a hidden treasure!

Dr. Carroll has been our vet since 1993, so 29 yrs now- 2 Goldens & an Afghan hound. He is a kind, wonderful person & an excellent vet & as people surgeons, for what it's worth, we find him excellent at diagnosis & surgery. He has never recommended excessive anything, including surgery, medicine, or tests & is very ethical in his treatment of our beloved pets & us. Our animals have been well cared for & we have received great advice: 1) when the choice is clear to him (the usual), he says our dog "needs" whatever it is; 2) when a decision is more optional, pros & cons are presented, along with a recommendation. In terms of bedside manner, he's more quiet while figuring things out, he listens, he is efficient & is very quick at deciding what's going on. Dr. Carroll communicates that, no beating around the bush. We can tell he feels the pain when there's nothing more to be done. He refers to the specialty hospital when necessary, no ego involved, & if urgent, makes that happen quickly. He is in demand & thus very busy, he works hard on behalf of his patients, & his prices seem to be fair. The staff members are wonderful & caring & do their very best to respond to needs. This past Saturday morning, we had need for a phone consult (what to do?) & Dr. Carroll's partner was in clinic. We have never met her. After her busy clinic, she called us & spent the time it took to sort out the situation. Highest recommendation for excellence in veterinary medicine. For those looking for a more concierge experience, Midway Hollow may or may not be the right fit - guess you'd just need to see for yourself. For us, perfect.

Hit and miss. For routine stuff (shots, allergy etc), I definitely recommend this place, especially if you live in the area. Dr Carroll was kinda condescending - maybe I caught him on a bad day. The female vet I saw in my previous visits was nice.

I have seen two female vets here that were wonderful. However, my experience with Dr. Carroll's negligence yesterday ended in tragedy. My beautiful, 7 year old cat was distressed yesterday morning (10am) and could not operate her front left leg. I rushed her to the vet and saw Dr. Carroll who wanted to keep her for observation and possible sedation for an X-ray. I asked if it could be a stroke and he told me no and diagnosed it as a pulled radial nerve. At 3:30, I called to inquire about my cat and was told by staff to come and get her that she was walking just fine. Upon my arrival, I met with Dr. Carroll and my cat and observed that there was no change in her status and she seemed a bit worse (panting and very distressed). I could here her crying in the lobby before we were seen. He assured me that she had been walking fine earlier and that sometimes these injuries come and go as they are healing. On the way home, my cat's distress increased dramatically and I called the vet to report her symptoms - drooling, holding her head oddly, enlarged tongue. Dr. Carroll was consulted while I was placed on hold and again I was told the cat was fine. When I arrived home, it was obvious she was dying. I called the vet again and was able to speak to Dr. Carroll who told me that she must have had a stroke and I needed to take her somewhere else to have her put down because she was suffering. I can maybe understand an initial misdiagnosis when I first brought my baby in, although a GOOD vet would have taken proper stroke precautions. She might have recovered with oxygen, etc. I DO NOT understand being lied to about her mobility. She was clearly left unobserved and spent her last day on earth frightened and dying in a cage. Her death might have been preventable, maybe not, but the tragedy of her last 8 hours are the result of absolute negligence. Thank you, HILLSIDE CLINIC, for your compassion and care in helping my beautiful baby, Tuna, transition peacefully.

I wish I could give negative stars. Do not take your new puppy to this vet clinic. They failed to tell us that our puppy tested positive for hook worm and our puppy suffered for much longer than necessary. When asking simple questions, they gave roundabout answers. They are disorganized behind the front counter and so unprofessional. Do NOT go here.

Very nice and professional! Great customer service too. The doctor gave thorough details on what was done during the exam and her recommendations for the medicines.

I did not feel like the veterinarian cared about my cat. The visit was extremely short and he did not take much time at all to answer my questions. I just adopted this cat in November 2019 and this is my first cat so I just wanted to make sure I asked any questions I had. I also wanted to ask to do blood work since he is 7years old now and the vet talked me out of it stating "this is probably going to come out normal." I wanted blood work to check his baseline values- not because I actually expected him to find anything. In addition when I adopted him he weighted 22 pounds so obviously I want to he sure he's in good health now that we are working on his weight. Then the vet talked me out of including a FeLV vaccine because he's not an outdoor cat which I understand. But I mentioned I thought he needed it because of the place I wanted to board the cat at. The vet literally told me "find a different place to board your cat then." An unfortunately I later discovered this is indeed a required vaccine at the place I intended on boarding the cat at and now I am having to change plans last minute since it is too late now to update his vaccines prior to boarding. This was my first time visiting this clinic and I am highly unlikely to bring my dog or cat here.

This clinic spays and performs exploratory abdominal surgeries in cats without gas anesthesia and staples their skin incision shut rather than closing the sensitive skin with sutures--no pain medication to go home, just a pet in pain, and discharged with a wave from a receptionist. Dr. Carroll, just because the procedure is covered by a rescue organization does not preclude you from practicing proper anesthesia protocols for abdominal surgeries. Dr. Carroll, it may be wise to take some CE hours in this field before it ultimately results a complaint to the Texas Board--an exploratory abdominal sx performed without intubation, appropriate monitoring, and maintenance with gas anesthesia is indeed malpractice. Please consider this going forward.

Been here a few times over the years and staff interaction is average. Or 'not bad' but not stellar either. Strange they say leave a message due to Covid but don't return calls. Place is just okay.

Continue to be so grateful for the 20+ relationship with Dr. Carroll and his team. They are doing a particularly remarkable job to protect staff, clients (our pets), and owners during Covid-19. They have a streamlined process of meeting owners at their car, with everyone masked, adding needed notes to the pet's chart, walking the pet into the clinic for exam, returning the pet, and providing a quick review along with meds and receipt in hand. Curbside TLC service! Thanks all!

I have never experienced such a ridiculous display of fear and lack of confidence from a veterinarian or vet techs. I took a sweet, but scared cat to this office for a check up. It was her first time to see a vet since being spayed. She is a little shy, so I warned the vet to be a little careful because I wasn't sure how she would behave. The vet, Dr. Brooke, looked into the carrier and acted like she was dealing with a tiger. My kitty was crouched in the back corner of the cage terrified. Dr. Brooke went to get a tech to decide if they felt comfortable handling her. Two of the techs informed me that they would only examine her by "netting her" and giving her anesthesia. Then I was warned by the vet that if she had a heart problem she might die. Unbelievable! These people are completely incompetent. They never even opened the carrier, took the top off, attempted to handle her at all. Please don't trust these fools with your pets. What is more funny is that I looked up the veterinarian online and it says that she is "Fear free level 3 certified by the AVA for animal behavior". It must go up to a level 10, because she was completely terrified of my kitty. I got my cat out of there and she is off to see a more competent vet.

This group is GREAT! My puppy had a concerning, continuous cough and they got us right in. The staff is friendly and the Doctors make you feel great, by explaining the health of your pet in full detail. Not to mention, they all have a great, gentle bed-side manner. We are truly blessed we found the best Vets in Big D! Thank you, Midway Hollow Pet Clinic
