About Pioneer Park Cemetery
Pioneer Park Cemetery is an old and peaceful site located near the convention center and just two blocks from the Omni Hotel in downtown. Visitors can walk around and see headstones from the 1800s, although many are knocked down or broken. The cemetery is well-shaded, making it a pleasant place to escape the sun. It features interesting cattle herd artwork and offers a quiet, historic atmosphere. Despite some damage to the markers, the cemetery remains a meaningful place to explore and appreciate local history.

So sad. I could not find the headstones I was looking for… all are knocked down and broken off except for the granite ton markers. Had been there years back and it was beautiful.

Really interesting to run into this price of history on the edge of the city. The graves are old so it can make it hard to read who is laid to rest.
