I have cancelled my SAIA account because of this terminal and their ridiculous fees.. they charge a mandatory $58 dollar surcharge to call the receiver and verify hours for a delivery... 60 DOLLARS!!! To make a call that involves pressing 9 buttons and talking for less than a minute, that to me is the scam of a century. I might understand a 4.99 fee, right, time is money, I get that I'm a business man.. but $58 dollars for a sub 2 minute evolution?? Lets say it does take 2 minutes of their time to make the call.. at $58 dollars for every 2 minutes that's $1740 per man hour ?!?! Are these people insane? Good Bye Saia, I'm going back to one of a hundred other carriers that do not have these ridiculous hidden charges. This is my official last shipment with saia

Mixed review. My first time was a drop and hook at Saia. The yard masters were great. Unfortunately, my company didn't provide me with a trailer number to pick up (my first time, and I didn't know it was needed). I went to shipping/receiving, and they were annoyed I didn't know my pickup trailer. I was informed that they repeatedly warned my company that trailer numbers were needed. Then, I was firmly told to tell my dispatch to provide numbers from now on. Now, as a truck driver, we get talked down to a lot, and most of it let it go. But. Saia is a trucking company. Everyone can have a bad day or is irritated by something at some point, I get that and hope that employee's day gets better. But my first impression set the tone for my expectation for Saia.

Kinda unorganized to a outsider.got in gate no directions yard drivers hard to stop.finnally ask a dick worker where the on call was.bol no master so they go by trailer number it was loaded on.might have a 100 orders with different address.so find your trailer if you ps better to drop your empty as soon as you can going around to on call office might get tight if in a big truck and 53 foot trailer.check seal check loaded trailer gate will open when you hit buzzer..ps yard drivers had to get mine it was buried behind other company trailers.
Ps my company requires a 15 minute pre trip and other drivers were getting upset I was taking that long ps that was where the driver put it not me they act like I just put it there and it was where their boss told them to put it.he found my empty and ran the show so next time rail containers go scream at he boss
