I’ve lived here 2X’s in the past and both times it was a good factory reset for me I didn’t want are like being there at the time (10 plus years ago) but looking back it was the stepping stone for me to get where I needed to go nothing bad to say about the place as a whole but if you’re down and out I strongly suggest you look into starting here

I scheduled a pickup some weeks ago at our apartment. They called first thing this morning and the guys arrived within 30 minutes. We had a lot to donate but they were done in half an hour. I'd meant to tip them but when I called their HQ they said they weren't allowed to accept tips. This is a first class operation. I made a general cash donoation to them instead. They'll be my go to donation center.

I contacted the salvation army to find out if they only offered sleeping quarters for displaced individuals and they do they allow them to sleep in the gym at night but unfortunately they are able to provide shower facilities for them. My non-profit organization Https:helpingthehomeless.us it's working together with the salvation army to raise funds through our website so that we can open up facility that will allow these displaced individuals showers.

The two rude ladies who work the afternoon at the men's shelter are very rude. They speak to you like you're nothingI was about to slap the skinny dark one and the older lady who likes to yell at folks. I'm saved so didn't do it.

I live here in Dallas and I'm in the area of Garland , and I am a disabled person who reached out for the very first time ever to the Garland Salvation Army and it's ran by Bernard Tolan who was very inappropriate by telling me about another woman who came in for assistance and Dafne Cisneros's who asked me all of my personal information from if I had a bank account to wanting to know my banking transactions for months that had absolutely nothing to do with the month I came to ask for assistance. Not to mention she had always stereotyped me before even knowing my situation. I reached out to several higher up persons after doing me research and found over a thousands donors who give freely and openly to Salvation Army and I'm curious to know if they know how people such as myself are being treated . I am a disabled woman not by my choice as well as a gunned down survivor and domestic violence survivor and never ever have I've reached out to Salvation Army until a few months ago , still not knowing or getting a decent response back . It's like I'm swept under the rug . Maxie DeBlanc , Captain Joe , Pamela Davis , Bernard Tolan , Dafne Cisneros , Joanna Henry , Sr. Manger , Amber Rosales ( Program Manager) as well as other. Major Dawn and Paul McFarland, Scotty Landry and Christina Cavalier still have not responded or return my email . So I wonder if this list of donors knows that Salvation Army is neglecting African Black disabled women of services . I wonder if Walmart , Big Lots , Albertsons , Google , Toyota , NFL Foundation, MAP international, Lily Endowment and their lists goes on knows how they are refusing disabled women of color and discriminating. I reached out to the BBB and the news media here in Dallas to share my story. Because I have yet to hear from anyone.

It brings down the value of the neighborhood. The smell of urine and bio overwhelms the system. Friendly people but straight depravity. The sensation of dread is everywhere. I know they do well with the community but still. No one smiles, the staff is quick to argue with people. It's just an unfriendly atmosphere.

They have decent stuff but holy crap the prices. For the condition that some stuff is you're just better off going to Burlington or Ross. Definitely the most expensive Salvation Army location there is.

I came in today walking from downtown about 2 hours away and they said the max capacity is done for the day when usually across the country most Salvation Army only have a 20 to 30 % occupancy on a daily basis year round.
