Good, not great. Be prepared to valet park and leave a tip for the service. Pork belly burnt ends and brisket were both below average, especially for Texas. Nachos were still pretty solid, though.

Here are more orders and ratings:Pulled Pork: No flavor and dry.Ribs: Meat falls off bone, but just tasted pepper.Brisket: Had some bite and also tender.Coleslaw: Just mayo and cabbage... sadPoppers: Cold deep fried batter... not even spiceyFried Okra: Cold...I went on a Wednesday... I think they are a hit and miss, maybe during the weekends the cooks actually know what they are doing, but my visit was so disappointing. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, wait staff still got our drink orders confused and didn't have any input on the menu.

Simply the best place to dine outside in all of East Dallas. The best patio. Parking is valet only but it's a minor concern. Wonderful place for a group to celebrate. I enjoyed the classic brisket sandwich. Lots to appreciate on this menu.

Came here for lunch with my family after the eclipse. We had an amazing time. The food was delicious. Christina was great! Only to have it ruined by the valet. Half the parking lot was empty when we arrived. They didn't inform us our car would be parked off-site but it was. When leaving we waited for alost 10 minutes for our car no one said "we had to park of-site". When we questioned where our car was the valet responded we were being childish because we were asking questions. You need a better valet company that know how to answer questions and communicate with the general public without an attitude.

What a beautiful restaurant! Beautiful outdoor seating area! Wow! The ambiance is great, service is great, food is great!! My husband and I had a wonderful time! Can't wait to come back.Parking is complementary valet (tips are welcome) it took a little bit to get our car parked because the wait line was long plus some cars were cutting line by going in through the exit (GRR!) but they are quick to bring your car back. Definitely coming back and I definitely recommend Smoky Rose for any occasion ?

I fell down when I first got there 4:30 after work as a teacher. Many people (workers saw it, but noone offered to help me or even check on me) I tripped on the bar under the bench. I didn't expect there to be a steel bar under the bench. I asked for some ice for my swollen knee and Alphonso made fun of me.. and tried to blame me.. "shouldnt i go home?". My knee was bloody.. and he's didn't offer any help. Eventually he got me some ice when my co-workers kept pushing him. I was really shocked at their total disregard for my safety.

I had enough of a bad experience to never want to come back!We went here for a celebratory dinner and our night was ruined by the poor service, the rushed meal and the lackluster food.- The food was extremely basic and with small portions, we left hungry and paid $75.- Our waitress had an awful attitude. She also rushed our service, giving us our check while we were still eating and without asking if we wanted anything else.- Valet parking is mandatory and we waited 15 minutes to get our car back.- I'm only rating it a second star because the ambiance is nice.

This place lived up to the mediocre level that previous reviews have mentioned.Food does not come out warm to your table and service is a joke. Don’t even think team members are trained to do the job their actually job.I think this place survives because of the outdoor patio and its proximity to the arboretum. If you must go here, only grab drinks with chips and salsa. Then go somewhere else that can give you a better eating experience.

Rickey was literally so amazing on Easter Sunday.Very attentive, although they were busy and resolved any issues our party had promptly. If you go here, please ask for him to be your server. Thank you ?

Food, service, and atmosphere were superb and the location across from the Arboretum can't be beat: we actually went across the street after a fully belly to walk off every bite we've just eaten. We had coffee, churros, ice cream, and salads.Taking off a star due to the lack of parking/congestion. They have free valet, but as someone that doesn't like to have strangers drive my car, there was not an option for self-service parking unless you go across the street to the Arboretum and pay for parking there.
