This place is so fun! The vibes are fantastic and the fact that you can purchase alcohol or coffee while you're listening to music, socializing, or isolating with a good book makes it such a relaxing environment. They have so many books for purchase and records too. Definitely recommend giving it a go! They are dog friendly in the back!

You ever want to feel like you're in a collegiate bar? Here's your place. Academics and alcoholics alike can share a brew and brain cell or two inside or out back in the porch/yard seating. I, personally, love the fun-named cocktails, but have not tried the food yet. Great staff and book selection. A plus is the walk-ability in the Bishop Arts area.

The vibes here are immaculate. The persimmon tree drink was sweet with a hint of smoke and the dark interval was so good my friend went back for thirds. White chocolate macadamia cookies were a pleasant surprise, soft and well-balanced. Bartenders were friendly and efficient and the backyard patio was calm and quiet.

Book & Record Store built into this cute and quaint coffee shop turned bar. Unmatched vibe. Very community! Definitely a place for a good study, or to take a date. Only thing I'll say is the line gets crazy long, so bring your patience with you

I wanted to like it but found it lacking and trying to be too many things- bookstore? Bar? Coffee shop? But not really excelling at any. The single check out is also a nightmare on a busy day. I also respect the right of any business to express a viewpoint though I found the "Free Palestine" sticker in their window uninformed and offensive. Again, I'm sure many business owners choose to express their political opinions but, as a customer, I prefer to keep that stuff out of my business transactions. If you want coffee, I love Davis Street. For books, I'll stick with Interabang.

It was a nice place and nice ambiance and nice music it was my first time going to this place but it took the bartender almost 30 minutes to acknowledge that me and my fiance was standing there trying to get her attention and it seemed like her friends where more Important than the customer once we finally got acknowledged we ordered and went and sat down didn't seem like the bartender was more interested in friends being there even past closing friends where still sitting at the bar while we where constantly being watched will probably not go back anytime soon

It's been about fifteen years since I was last in Dallas. The Wild Detectives is such a cool, pleasant surprise. Part bookstore, part bar, part coffee house, and all neighborhood hangout this is definitely a delightful spot. It's inclusive with a small but interesting book and music selection. The owner is lovely and personable. Plus the mostly indie and eclectic background music was enjoyable enough for me to not go fishing for my headphones. I am definitely going to return on my next trip to Dallas.

WD can definitely get wild. Check out there scheduled events that cater to poets, cumbia kings and queens, and jazz experimentalist. Book store during the day w/ coffee and bar at night with books. The place is small and cozy for a very intimate feel. If you need some air just jump to their backyard and hangout on their benches as the neighborhood kitties prance by. This place is chill. Would recommend.

This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops and places to grab a drink. It's in a cute little area with walk around shops and restaurants. The vibe was very cute and they have cute sitting area as well. It's a little small but it definitely fit the atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

Wonderful environment inside, nice bathroom and also dog-friendly outdoor options when weather is nice. Great crowd always. And nice events like authors reading from newest releases.

This is one of the best coffee shops in Dallas. First, it's located in the quirky, and fun area of Oakcliff, Bishop Arts. It's a real staple to the neighborhood and has been around much before the area grew into the hipster area that it has now become. It's located in a cool little neighborhood so it's easy to pass up. It's best to get out and stroll and you'll happen upon it. It's not large inside but instead very quaint and cozy. You'll find many people there working, or having a small meeting. There is a large outdoor space that can provide more space if needed. The coffee is good and they also make great cocktails. The best part for me is the books. Some are local artists, then there's bestsellers and a wide variety from POC & Women authors. You'll have to look out for the events that they have at times. Anywhere from meet and greets with authors, DJs, etc..

The coolest bookish vibe bar I have ever been to. The book store has so many options that you can totally find a gem of a book and the bar has so sorts of options. Love this place

What a wonderful space! Grab a coffee or adult beverage at the bar. Cozy up with a book or some pals! Inside or out. Buy a great book with topics we need! I found several books on my visit. Come back for a performance at the venue in the backyard. PS- the espresso was on point! Local and dark roast! Bless them!
