We had a great experience! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and our nurse Octavia did so much to make sure our pet felt comfortable. Dr. Kohout really knew her stuff and took a lot of time to explain all the different medication options to us so that we felt confident about the next steps. We highly recommend this clinic!

First, let me compliment the staff - all were friendly, courteous and professional. Next, the building - tidy, clean and well cared for. Now, the procedure and veterinarian. I had my service dog in training spayed and her stomach "tacked" (a surgery to prevent bloat), all via laparoscope. Dr. Heard did an amazing job. Hazel was returned to me with excellent pain control (and hilariously drunk; I took several videos) and wearing a surgery suit so she wouldn't be inclined to lick her incision. I could have elected to have both procedures performed the old fashioned way at my regular veterinarian, but I believe this is much better done through the smaller incisions. Although not inexpensive (and it should be more expensive, really, it requires specialized tools and training), it was the right thing to do. I would highly recommend this practice and this procedure to anyone.

This review is mostly focused on Dr Jessica Kohout at VCA Park Cities. I have been to many vets before and Dr Kohout is by far one of the best. She actually takes the time to sit and listen. Does the right testing (only when needed) and works hard to try to diagnose and properly treat the root issues regarding my pup Cyon. I went to multiple other vets for my pup's skin issue. All the other vets did was look quickly look at him then say he needed X or Y shampoo. Dr Kohout spent the time to swab his skin. And noticed he had 2 kinds of bacterial growth! Which was causing him to loose his hair. She also suspected he was allergic to land animal protein. She prescribed a completely medication regimen for him, suggested a (reasonably priced) food, and he skin improved almost immediately. In addition instead of prescribing a medication full time ($200/month) like many other doctors would - she said any time I noticed a flair up coming to just treat it then which should stop it before it comes back.In addition she is amazing in her communication! Always follows up, is available for quick questions, and is the sweetest with my pup. The Park Cities location is definitely not the closest vet to me but I will always make the trek to see Dr Jessica Kohout. She is a true asset to VCA Park Cities!

My loving and playful cat had been having some uninary issues over the last few months. You could tell he was not comfortable, and when the pain would return, he would retreat. I took him to this wonderful clinic and after one visit, they were able to diagnose via xray, give him medicine, and prescribe food. Evidently uninary issues are common amoung male cats. All my interactions were great, from the front desk, to Dr. Heard, to the technician Ashley, and to the assistant Chris. Everyone was so patient and loving to my little guy (cats are not fans of crates and car travel). Now he is back to his normal, happy, playful, loving, self, and has actually lost a few lbs! Very graterful for this animal clinic!

The staff is so nice!! They helped talk through all the information for my pet. As a first time cat owner, I felt very comfortable with VCA and the staff was very kind to my pet and answered all my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Braunstein!

I want to start this review by saying, if I could give this vet's office a million stars, I would. I have two cats and I also work for a rescue so I really needed a place that would take care of them properly. I had visited a vet's office before this one (because it was a partner on my pet insurance's website) and I was extremely disappointed by the care there. I thought that this would be how service was all around but I took a chance and made an appointment at VCA Park Cities when my cat needed another follow up visit.Let me tell you that the care, compassion, and quality that I have recieved with VCA Park Cities is UNPARALLELED by even my own "human" doctor's office. Every single member of the staff here, cares about all the animals that come through its doors and for that, I have the utmost gratitude and respect for them.If you are looking for an amazing vet for your precious ones, I highly recommend this location.Bonus: They don't give a preference to dogs only and are well versed in cats too. This is hard to find at times, but I never felt that here, with our Park Cities family.

My family has spent thousands of dollars at this animal clinic over the years. We were shocked at the treatment we received the other day. We had requested a staff member to come out to the car and assist us in taking the cat into the clinic. Several minutes later an employee came to the car in the parking lot and presented us with a quote for our diabetic cat's treatment. Some routine labs and sedation were going to cost $763. How can this be when they haven't even taken the cat out of the car? We asked if we could make a couple of payments on it (which we had done in the past). The employee said I'll check and we never heard from them again. I suppose this was their way of telling us they didn't care about the cat and or need or us as customers. Apparently this company is more concerned about the bottom line than helping animals in distress.

Pricy! Wow! But overall, good service & Dr. Black has been there forever! As long as you make Park Cities money, you should use them as they truly do care about our pets.

My dog Nugget was a patient with Dr. E at VCA University for over 10 years before they merged with VCA Park Cities. When I unfortunately had to put Nugget down to do a cancer that had spread back in February (right before Snowmageddon), the compassion from VCA Park Cities was incredible. Our favorite vet tech, Mike, transitioned from VCA University to VCA Park Cities, and let me tell you, he loved Nugget as much as the rest of us did. He encouraged me to take Nugget to a local emergency clinic to get her an ultrasound, as the X-rays they took did not provide a clear understanding of what was going on. Unfortunately, we had to make the decision to let Nugget go after VCA Park Cities closed that day, and Mike was off the next day. When he finally got back in, he called me, and we both cried a little and laughed over some stories I shared with him about Nugget.I didn't think I'd ever be ready to get another dog, but I surprised myself by coming home from work one day and thinking, 'It sure is lonely coming home to no dog.' I started looking online, came across Dallas Pets Alive, and found Eleanora. Absolutely fell in love with her photos. Within three weeks, she was mine! I took her to VCA Park Cities for an initial check per the adoption agreement, and everyone just loves her! I was so excited for Mike to meet her. (Honestly, he was probably shocked I went from a small 8 pound Chihuahua/terrier mix to a 55 pound pit bull mix!) Mike loved meeting Nora, and both Mike and Dr. Herring are my go-to for Miss Nora!

I just relocated from Ohio to Dallas, and I couldn't be more happy with my decision to go to VCA Park Cities. My tech was very attentive, and Dr. Kohout was such a pleasure to work with; you could tell right off the bat that she really cared for my cat and his well being. She was also willing to talk through any and every question I had, no matter how much time that took. Where VCA Park Cities went above and beyond, however, was with my cats prescription food. I've had so much trouble locating my cat's food during COVID due to supply chain issues, and without me even asking, VCA Park Cities worked with their Royal Canin rep to locate me an entire case of my cats food while it was completely out of stock otherwise in the DFW metroplex! Super grateful, thank you VCA Park Cities!

First VCA visit with our dog after relocated to Dallas from Los Angeles. The staffs are absolutely amazing here and very patient. They gave us all the information we need. And they're quick. We were a client at the VCA back in LA also, but this one in Dallas tops it all!!

This is my first review, and I felt so inclined to do it for VCA Animal Hospital! I got a 2 year old rescue from Dallas Animal Services and he is a bit of a wild card... right from the moment I spoke with the front desk on the phone they were very nice and accommodating to my situation. They told me to call when I arrived and that they would clear out the lobby (my rescue is not good with other dogs.) The doctors were incredible with him. He was so comfortable and calm with the doctors which was a huge relief because I wasn't sure how he would react to the examination. The doctors were very informative and took care of all of his needs and medication that he would need. When we left, they cleared out the lobby again and a sweet assistant helped me walk him to my car just to be safe because there were other dogs around as there is a PetSmart right down the street. Overall, I could not recommend them enough!

Great service. We recently got Jaxon from DAS, and were provided a certificate for $250 of services from VCA. They were VERY friendly, quick, informative, and professional. The downside is Jaxon has two insurance plans Wagmo for wellness, and TruPanion for "Serious" issues. TruPanion was recommended by VCA. VCA does not keep insurance information on file. This can be a huge issue because VCA requires you to pay upfront and be reimbursed later by your insurance company. I choose TruPanion because they offer a program where they pay the doctor's upfront eliminating reimbursements, well that is not possible if TruPanion and VCA do not communicate directly. Why would they recommend an insurance that they do not allow you to take full advantage of? Generally speaking, this causes a situation where I could have to pay hundreds/thousands out of pocket and wait for a reimbursement. Which kind of defeats the purpose of upfront payment insurance when claims can take weeks/months for reimbursement. If we were to impliment these same practices with our own insurance plans there would be less people using VCA for there needs as no one wants to keep up with what is cover/not covered by their plan, and pay thousands out of pocket for unexpected medical issues to be reimbursed later. Just something to take into consideration when choosing insurance and VCA.
