i am a long time customer at this Tom Thumb. I must say the service and attitude of the employees, especially the night manager on 8/15/23 was by far the worst I have encountered. It was 10:30 at night, asked for a lane to be open for check out since my wife and I dont do self checkout at any store. Manager told me all are closed and if i dont self check than I will not be able to check out here. He then gave me additional attitude when I stated that the policy has been to have one lane available at all times. We can shop anywhere and obviously this manger does not need our sale which was about $100.00. So be it.

Miss managed. Employees don't care. Bad produce. Bad store, bad manager. I would not go here any longer until it is better managed, and employees get a boost in moral.

There were full on feathers in my fried chicken. Avoid this product when purchasing from this location.

We have been weekly customers for more than 20yrs but no more. We have seen the quality and availability of items rapidly diminish in the past few years. For example, they sold my wife a package of corroded AA batteries which we have since returned. In addition, brands we bought frequently are no longer available. Finally, the store always appears unkept. Will try Forest and Preston now.

I placed an order for PICK UP- I called the number with parking space number. OMGt!!! I called 4 times and vm said mailbox full...(??) I called the store and asked the nasty person that answered, if she could help me- she said " someone is over there at the desk". I said NO- no one is answering and I need a manager. After calling 4x and getting put on hold for a manager, I finally got in touch with a Mgr- told him issues and he brought my groceries out. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Cashier Vicki was so rude, rushed through my groceries I told her I had two separate transactions. And I asked nicely if she could do a price check for me. She was all loud about it and yelled what am I doing now for you. Either she was upset about something or doesn't like her job. Next time I go I will make sure I don't go to her or just do self check out.

Let's see, the "milk" that was three months out of date? The caring employee I told who responded that she was off work, but she'd look for a manager? Out of stock eggs? I'll stop there...

I was in there shopping for the week yesterday. I looked in the meat department, as I always do, and noticed that one of the display coolers in the aisle was not cooling. The packages of raw meat in the cooler were warm to the touch. I saw an employee of the store putting packages of meat in one of the other displays, so I asked if he was aware that the cooler wasn't cooling. He tersely replied that the cooler was defrosting and that he was aware as he walked away from me. I know that raw meat has to be stored at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees. I'm not sure he is. I don't think I'll be purchasing any meat from this store in the future.

Love this Tom Thumb! The people who work here make this store our favorite! My son gives some of the employees a hug when we go and they all remember his name which makes him feel special. I have seen employees there do really unexpected and kind things. It reminds me of the way people are in west texas where my family is from. Just very warm and people care about other people not just "their" people.

I have been going to this store since it was in the building that Ross now occupies. It carries a nice selection of products and the specials are provide good savings. When the lines develop, they add more cashiers and.. they don't expect you to check out your own purchases. The current store director and his management team are excellent. They are friendly and helpful to customers. They are also involved supporting youth group projects of various types. They are good community partners. I would like to see them take a more ecological approach to some of their packaging. Doing so could be a great marketing tool for them. Lucerne now puts eggs in styrofoam containers, therefore I buy eggs at Kroger. I would also like to see non-styro meat containers used. Some other stores have switched to them. A small financial incentive to use reusable bags, like Sprouts does, would also be helpful.

I'm checking out at register and I tell the cashier "you scanned the same item twice". He tells me "yeah, yeah I fixed it and I point the screen and show him that it's still showing and again he says the same thing so I left it alone. I get my receipt and I got charged twice I go to customer service and no one's there. After about 2 minutes someone comes out, doesn't acknowledge me at all starts talking to another employee and then walks away. Comes back a minute later and says " yes, how can I help you".

Unfortunately, this is the closest grocery store to me and has been for the past 15 years. They are out of something I need about 50% of the time. And almost 100% of the time, I end up at customer service because items on my receipt did not ring up correctly. My final straw was a few weeks ago when I bought 6 bottles of wine. They were advertising, all over the store, that bottles of wine $20 or more are 30% off. I bought 6 bottles of wine at an average of $27/bottle. I didn't get 30% off and almost walked out of the store being $70 overcharged. I've had to go back one time since, and I was at customer service yet again because I bought items at bogo, yet I was charged for both. I am scared to think of the amount they overcharge customers that don't pay attention to their receipts.
