Wood World is a well-stocked business that offers quality wood and a wide variety of woodworking supplies. Customers appreciate the large selection of staple woods, including different types of walnut, oak, and cherry, which are often limited at big box stores. The staff is generally friendly and knowledgeable, with some employees sharing helpful tips and tricks for woodworking projects. Many visitors have enjoyed taking classes, such as wood turning, and have found the staff supportive and enthusiastic about their craft. The owner is described as very friendly and willing to share expertise, making the store a welcoming place for both beginners and experienced woodworkers. Customers value the helpful and friendly service, often mentioning that they plan to return for questions and supplies, supporting a local business rather than larger chains. The store is considered a good place to learn and get advice, with a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and sharing. However, some concerns about customer service have been raised. While most employees provide great service, a few have exhibited less welcoming attitudes, particularly towards women and disabled customers. These experiences have caused some to question whether the store prioritizes diversity and inclusion. Despite this, many still recommend Wood World for its quality products, fair prices, and knowledgeable staff, wishing they lived closer to visit more often. Overall, it is seen as a small, local gem that supports woodworking enthusiasts with a good selection and friendly service.
I was given a woodturning class as a gift. Richard was an awesome teacher. He answered all my questions and taught me how to set up a lathe and prep the wood attorney. I now know how to set up my lathe to turn a bowl. I feel confident I will be making lots of bowls in the near future.

Got my wooden slats cut over there. They have great service, and have plenty of products for sale like knives, and tools etc...

We took the wood cutting board class with Mitchell who was funny and welcoming. This class is appropriate for ALL skill levels - even zero shop experience. The cost of the class is not much more than the cost of the size of the cutting board you make so it is a great value. I hope to do other classes soon! Super fun.
