If I could give Zipcar 0 stars I would. Zipcar (knowingly) gave me a car that had an almost dead battery. I now have no form of transpiration and they are not giving me a different car. Do not use Zipcar. Find a different company.

Just left. Paid for $18 basic plus wash. My car is still very dirty on the outside. AND it actually shut off while I was inside the wash lol. I had to shift my car from N to DRIVE and slowly drive myself out of it. What a joke.

I booked zip car 1 month ahead for my son's doctor appointment. When I come to pick the car, the car wasn't there!! I call zipcar representative and tell about this matter. The representative advised me to take Lyft and send me email that they will refund my zipcar and also reimburse the lyft fee. However, now already almost a month and they did not reimburse lyft that I use to go and back from doctor office. Their reason is because the Lyft is more expensive than the zipcar reservation. I know that! And thats exactly why i booked the car at the first place so I can cut down transportation cost. It is not my fault that that the car that I reserve wasn't there at my reserve time. Be aware of this matter!! I had email confirmation about the whole incident and the promised that i will get reimbursed but never honored!

My friend Amruta she book a car from zip car for a day and it was a confirmed booking. Now the customer before did not come on time to return and the zip car instead of getting us new car from near by pickup location says we will refund you. But as a service provider they should understand that’s it’s a confirmed booking they need to arrange a new car for me I have booked for day that means I have other important things also lined up with that. It’s just not you give refund and charge other person fine. I have lost my time and all the imp plans I have for the complete day.! At the last moment now how can I take car and the extra charges I have to bear on myself.

It is a pretty good service and the car information is provided in the application. The doors are controlled with application and there is a zip card to pay for gas.

I can't believe that someone has not sued Zipcar in a class action lawsuit yet. I have(had) the basic plan where the Zipcar member pays a higher hourly fee for rentals with no monthly fee. This works for many members who infrequently need a car. Zipcar recently sent out a spam looking email stating that they've taken the liberty to switch me to a paid monthly account whereby they would charge me a monthly fee, even without using their cars. I did not authorize this and I can't believe that their management team thought that this was a viable way to do business. Furthermore, the only way to cancel your membership is to call them. Their number is busy for hours and now that I've gotten through I'm presently on hold. This is corrupt behavior to change a membership for someone (that results in monthly fees) without them signing up for it. I'm thinking that they will lose whatever loyalty they had out of this move. (I know I will never use them again) I reported Zipcar to the better business bureau and they never apologized or even acknowledged their shady antics. They provide a bizarre word salad answer that makes you wonder how they got so out of touch with reality.

I used ZC today. First, the tank was totally empty. Now even a single white bar showing remaing fuel on the dashboard. Secondly, when I received my summary by emyail, it showed I returned the car 10 minutes after my scheduled return time. Not true - I parked almost exactly at 2:30 PM. Finally, anout three or four days ago, I attempted to contact your corporate offices. The recording offered the option of getting a callback. I opted for that convenience, but NEVER received a return call, that day or the next. Not good.

I haven't even used them yet and I'm already over them. I signed up through my company who is based out of Seattle, I'm in Dallas. I called right after applying to update the shipping address so it could come directly to my office. The guy on the phone assured me it would be taken care of. 2 days later I get a tracking number for my card saying it's been shipped to Seattle. I messaged them on Facebook then called them the next morning. The first guy told me that UPS was wrong and the shipping information was incorrect....I gave him the benefit of the doubt and called UPS to confirm that it was being shipped to Seattle. I then called ZipCar AGAIN to try and get a new card sent to my actual address. The guy said he would send my request to the Member Services Team which would take 1-2 business days then they would send a new card which would take 3-7 business days. I asked to speak with a supervisor(Carla your ROCK) and she assured me that I would get my new card on time.(I needed it by Monday) I several hour later to get the tracking number so I could confirm that it was sent to the right address and guess what....it still wasn't sent. I'm just confused on why they are making it so difficult for me to get started...

UPDATE: Within a day of my previous review on May 8th, ZipcarDFW reached out to me. Nathan, in particular, earnestly wanted to understand further details of my complaints. In the past 2-3 weeks I must say that all my concerns regarding Zipcar numbers, availability, cleanliness and website issues regarding downtown have all been rectified. I have to say that I am truly impressed by the attention to customer concerns and the quick improvement of the services provided. The Zipcar service in downtown Dallas has returned to the levels I had grown accustom. I am once again a happy Zipcar customer. A big thanks to Nathan and ZipcarDFW!

This review is not for the cars, but for the lack of service. Car sharing is an excellent idea, but customers should be able to reach someone when needed. I recently signed up for Zipcar hoping to use it on a day trip during a vacation. Since the website said I could call to pick up the card in an office I was hoping to get the card in time before I left out of town. I called and no one answered. I left a message with my name, number, and request. No one called me back ever. I did end up getting the card in the mail, but not in time for vacation.

I have been a Zipcar member since they arrived in Dallas and started the pilot program. The Zipcar pilot program with the City of Dallas continues to grow. Through June 30 another 184 new members joined in the second quarter of 2015, and in June Zipcar launched two vehicles at the Dallas Farmers Market. 30 vehicles are now located in Downtown, Uptown, Oak Lawn, and at Love Field. According to Zipcar: "Industry studies have shown that each car share vehicle can support the reduction of 15 personally owned vehicles, so the current Zipcars in service through the City of Dallas and DART represent as many as 450 personally owned vehicles taken off the road." I support the concept and until recent I have always had a good experience with Zipcar. However, on our most recent experience the car was beyond filthy. The front passenger seat was covered with dried soft drink and ramen noodles. The outside of the car appeared to not have been cleaned in weeks. Very disappointing. I reported the problem to Zipcar, but was only greeting with automated recordings and auto-generated emails. Cost of this Service compared to other providers (Enterprise, Avis, etc): D- Selection of cars: A Cleanliness and quality of cars: F While I support the Zipcar concept -- I cannot recommend this company in Dallas at this time.

Yes, I am a fan. I was traveling to Orlando for the weekend the following day and I really needed a car while in Orlando. Before signing up I made a call to the local Zipcar office to make sure I could pick up my Zip CARD before my flight, instead of having it mailed out to me. When I called the office I left a voicemail and within an hour I get a call back from Megan. Megan was awesome, she explained how the entire Zipcar program worked and we scheduled a time for me to pick up my card the next day. She knew Downtown Dallas parking sucks, so when I arrived, I called her and she had my card ready and set up. She even came downstairs to meet me and just hand the card over to me. When I arrived in Orlando at MCO, I went to the lower level and called for the shuttle to pick me up from the airport and they drove me to the Zipcar parking lot. I used my Zip card to unlock and was on my way! Daily rates can be a little high, but Megan hooked me up with a promo code for a discount :) This was so so simple! Everyone loves simple! I absolutely recommend for anyone who needs a last minute rental car, this isn't a luxury car rental company. It's just a plain and basic no-frills car rental company!

Not sure what is going on with Zipcar Dallas, but the quality is far less then my experiences in other cities. The vehicles are not kept up at all. Many times the cars and trucks I have rented have been beyond filthy, both on the outside and inside. The kind of filth you acquire on a car when it hasn't been checked on in weeks. Side view mirrors that don't work, vehicles with license plates missing, vehicles that look like they have been in a demolition derby (Mustang Convertible at 17seventeen). I would really love to meet the regional manager for Dallas, take him/her around and show exactly how this fleet of vehicles are not being maintained. I understand that with multiple people using the same vehicles, there may be some issues. That is still no excuse for vehicles that are dirty, beat up, smell like smoke, and have problems that would make them illegal to drive on the streets. The cars in Chicago (where I moved from) are in much better condition and they get used all of the time in some pretty harsh conditions.
