Woke up with bed bug bites all over myself. The entire hotel smells like mold and weed and the bedding had stains all over it. I haven’t had a single issue with any other IHG hotel but this place trash. There are plenty of other places to stay in and around Decatur, but avoid this place at all costs.

The staff went above and beyond to help make us comfortable! We experienced a situation and they adapted our room to make it work for us. I am beyond grateful and impressed!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Poor soundproofing; we could hear our upstairs neighbor stomping around and using the toilet. Yes, we could hear them urinating. We also clearly heard crying children and other people walking down the hall. Awakened at 7AM by housekeeping entering my room (they apologized), then unable to go back to sleep because of their door slamming and vaccuming up and down the hall until I finally gave up hope and left. The toilet tank made unrelenting dripping sounds. The room became very warm unless we blasted the air conditioning.

Allowed online reservations in spite of being booked solid and left us scrambling to find a place to stay when we were three hours from home. The young lady at the desk conducted herself apologetically and in a professional manner but the situation was still unnecessary.

I recently stayed at this IHG owned hotel while my father was in the hospital. I checked in around 5-6am after not getting any sleep for 3 days due to the fact that I had been sitting with my dad and I'm a light sleeper. So, I decided that in order to get some sleep I needed to go check-in to a nearby hotel, Candlewood Suites being the closest since I was walking from the hospital. For some reason, the guy who checked me in required assistance from someone on the phone several times and it took a while to get a room. After getting the receipt, I noticed the rate for one day was higher than I was quoted, I asked about it and the guy said that's what it is. I just wanted to get some sleep, so I signed it, got my room key card and headed towards my room. I stopped in the little store area to see what kind of soft drinks were available, almost nothing that I liked was available, most of the drinks were of the "diet" flavor, which to me is absolutely disgusting. I asked the guy at the front desk if there were any non-"diet" drinks, he said that's all they had. Oh well, I guess I will just drink water then, so I continued to go back to my room.Upon entering the room, I turned the light on by the door and it's flickering due to a bulb going out, not a big deal but a little annoying. As I got settled into bed, the air conditioner came on and it made some high pitched squeaking sounds. I called up to the front desk and the guy who checked me in said that he couldn't do anything tonight and I would have to wait until the morning. (Why didn't he just give me another room?)The next day I get up and go to the hospital to see my dad, when I came back later that evening, the light and the AC unit hadn't been fixed. At this point, I'm getting sorta frustrated by the lack of care or concern for my situation. I also noticed other issues like the TV remote wasn't working after hitting the power button a number of times and the TV stand was broken, which caused the TV to tilt forward. (Super easy to fix the TV stand with some strong glue, but I don't think they care.)After the next night, I picked up the manager's card at the front desk on my way out to get some breakfast and go see my dad at the hospital. On the way up there, I called the manager (Erick), he said he would go to my room and get everything fixed, but when he called back, he said the light, AC and TV were working fine. He did say he was going to fix the extra charge for the room, since I was quoted a different rate, but when I said that I might stay a few more nights, he said that the rate would be higher.I told Erick that the flickering light and AC were not "fine", I know that the AC normally doesn't make those high pitched squeaking sounds and there is no way the light flickering is acceptable. He seemed like he was more concerned about having to fix the light and stuff than making sure the guest has a comfortable stay at the hotel. Additionally, Erick was very condescending when it came to the TV issues, saying he would leave the TV on, so he can "prove" to me that the TV worked fine, saying he would leave two remotes. All I really cared about was the light and the AC issues, but I kept finding other problems when they didn't fix these things the first time I called.Once I got back to the hotel later on the second day, I get back to my room and turn on the light, it seems whoever "fixed" the light put a different type of bulb into the fixture resulting in one warm light bulb and one cool light bulb. They also didn't put the diffuser cover back on, so the difference was much more noticeable. They left the cover and tools on top of the kitchen cabinets. Then I went to check the AC unit, but instead of fixing it, they just turned the thermostat temperature up, so the AC would come on less? I turned down the temperature and the AC comes on with the same squeaking noise, at this point I'm beyond frustrated. Why didn't Erick call back to tell me the A

We checked out as soon as we checked in. Upon entry, the smell of mold is so overwhelming. Everything is outdated, and filthy dirty. The room itself had zero cell service, stains on the pillow cases/sheets. Floor was not vacuumed, and heavily stained. The mattresses are ROCK hard. The chair was tattered, so the inside stuffing was exposed and stained brown. I’ve NEVER had this kind of experience in an IHG hotel, but this place needs to be inspected ASAP. Thankfully we have an abundance of hotel points, and have decided to stay in Trophy Club instead. Seriously avoid this place at all costs, it’s absolutely disgusting.

House keeping only comes by on Thursdays! No trash pick up! The showers are nice and HOT. The shower curtains are too small water goes everywhere! The beds are so HARD, like sleeping on bricks. The third & fourth floor smell like WEED as well as the elevator. The rooms smell musty and our room had huge red stains all over the floor. Staff was never at the desk. You had to wait or call the desk for assistance. Staff is aware of the pot smokers but doesn’t address it because they claim they are smoking in the parking lot rather then in the room!Do not spend your money here! It is loud, musty, and miserable.

What a great hotel. This hotel is next door to the hospital where I had my surgery. They give a discount to some or all patients, I'm not sure which. We arrived a day early, and staff at the front desk was wonderful. We walked into a room that was nice and cool. The rooms are huge, with kind of a full kitchen. A full size refrigerator, 2 burner stove, full size sink and all the accessories youll need for your stay. Anything not in the room, they have a full assortment of stuff by the front desk you can borrow. The a/c was a little strange. Instead of degrees, it measured from 1 to 20, and you raised or lowered the number to change the temperature. Never seen that before! Glenda stayed while I was in the hospital, and we stayed one more night so I wouldn't have to travel as soon as I got out of the hospital. Absolutely loved the room and staff, and will certainly stay here again. It's really close to stores and restaurants, so you don't have to drive all over town. Only downside is there is no free breakfast. That's a biggie in my book. While Glenda will sleep till 10 o'clock, I get up at 6 and go down to eat while it's nice and quiet. You can read that as no kid's screaming feed me at their parents! Definitely 4 stars in my book. They missed 5 because of the no breakfast. I definitely recommend Candlewood Suites if your looking for a room with a full kitchen.

My husband and I travel to hundreds of hotels for his work. If we're ever back in this area, we will be coming back here for sure!! The room is plenty spacious with a kitchenette including a full size fridge, VERY nice microwave, plus dishes, Silverware, and even a few pots, measuring cup and strainer. The room also has a dishwasher and dish soap. Hallways and elevator are kept clean. (Which matters to me! And they even have a "lending locker# with just about ANYTHING you need for the kitchen, board games, and even goggles and sunblock for their pool!! We borrowed the crockpot, and made a DELICIOUS pot roast, which felt like home. They also have a decent gym, and laundry room, which is FREE to hotel guests!!! The only thing was that their cable wad terrible, BUT they do provide a DVD player, and DVDs you can checkout from the front desk. Definitely a great find in Decatur (I also HIGHLY recommend Sweetie Pie's Ribeyes while you're in town YUM!!)
