Fossil Pointe Sporting Grounds is an excellent outdoor range and a great place for shooting sports. It offers awesome trap, skeet, and sporting clays courses, with over fifty sporting clay stations set among shade trees, accessed by golf carts. The clay throwers generally work great, though occasional machine delays or non-working posts have been noted. The facility also features a very good pistol and gun range, alongside an immaculate long-range rifle facility. This long-range area has target berms every fifty yards out to eight hundred yards, with obstacles available, and is suitable for shooting out to extreme distances. The training provided, particularly for long-range precision rifle, is highly recommended for both new and seasoned shooters. Instructors are outstanding as both coaches and leaders, known for communicating abstract concepts in an easy-to-undernderstand manner. They help with correcting fundamentals, adjusting technique, and teaching crucial skills like constructing DOPE charts, dialing for elevation, holding for windage, and making independent wind calls. The overall instruction is relaxed, educational, and entertaining. The facility is worth the trip from the DFW area, even though it is a bit of a drive. The ranges are typically not crowded. The food is good and the service is great, contributing to an awesome whole experience that many find to be the best they have encountered.
Phenomenal range and great staff. Going on my 5th year shooting here on a nearly weeky basis. Pistol, skeet, and long range are well worth the visit.

Very nice clean place. The only issue is not their fault but the folks with guns need to have a little muzzle discipline .In the skeet area parking lot. I got flagged four different times by guys with shotguns not cased getting off golf carts, and I was looking down the barrel of their shotguns Not good

A great experience! We were shooting clays and loved the view. One of the towers didn’t work, we called the number provided and within 5 minutes we had a staff member come and make sure all was well. We will be going back.
