Not only was the shooting experience an absolute blast, we ran into some transportation issues so Chef Dave drove us to the nearest town so we could get home. Great guy and everyone at Fossil Pointe was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Went out to shoot today. The range is in great shape. If you get the chance, try to get set up with Rhett. He was in charge of the long range qualifications. He handled all questions very professionally. He is a big reason why this will be my new gun range. Thanks again Rhett!

Really like this shooting range. Open space, good range staff. Everyone I've encountered was friendly.

Been there six times or so every time I’ve been there batteries die on throwers most times people don’t answer the phone, simple solution, solar powered battery, chargers, and a separate number to call somebody on the course to actually fix the machines. Shot again today two dead batteries, one station, throwing broken birds probably two or three not operating properly. Maybe they’re not checked before the first group shoots

Sporting clays normies rifles, and traditional pistol range. No long range revolvers or pistols even if equipped and dedicated to that event. Got the .308 and .556 rifles zeroed at 100. Pulled out my AR pistol in 5.56, and was told it was a no go on the rifle range. The pistol is a 7.5 inch 5.56 AR with a Leopold 3-12 pistol scope. It is a semi auto equivalent of a Thompson contender. Dedicated paper and hog puncher. The range master informed me of unwritten rules in place from the owner. The rules: no pistols shorter than 10 inches on the rifle range. Exemption being .300BO because " That particular caliber improves with shorter barrels." No long range revolvers. Or pistols in any rifle cal under 10 inches. Hey .... I'm not telling ya it's a fud range. They just got fud rules. I drove 1.5 hrs and even called

Great employees and nice clean range. I visited here with a friend and we had a great time! The only issue encountered was I had no mobile service with Verizon out there. I will definitely return in the near future.

Amazing shooting range. This was my first time at a shooting range & this is definitely gonna be my go to. The staff were very friendly. At the time I was there it was only range officer out there. He was very cool & even said that I should work there as I was instructing my lady on gun safety. Safety is top priority which is my favorite part. Fairly priced as well. If you are looking for a safe & not uptight shooting range to go to look no further. We will be back in the near future.

Took the Long Range shooting class with Mike Nestor. as instructor. Military and police background. First half of day was classroom. Several acronyms thrown out that were military specific, but when asked Mike was very patient in explaining terms. During the morning, Mike covered how to use scope reticle information. proper positioning of the scope for eye relief, proper positioning when shooting prone, discussion of guns that everybody brought to class with the good and bad for long range shooting, plus creating and using DOPE (Data on previous engagement) data. After lunch, we went to the Long Range (goes out to 800 yards). First, we confirmed zero on all weapons at 100 yards, then began working our way down the range. Started at 300 yards and went to 800 if you could given your selected rifle, ammo, scope, and personal limitations. I had a .270 that worked out to about 500 yards. Beyond that the wind was eating up my Federal Power-Shok 130 gr. rounds. Couldn't tell where they were going at the 600 with any confidence even with Mike as spotter. Some of the guys with .380s and 6.5s were shooting 5" plates at 600. When hunting I rarely had to shoot beyond 125 yards, so hitting targets at 500 yards with my 1970 era Winchester .270 was an accomplishment for me. Attending the class qualifies you for range access on the long range. If you have ever wanted to stretch your legs with long range shooting I highly recommend the course and the folks at Fossil Pointe. If you plan to attend the class ($399 + tax) I highly suggest you invest in a scope suited to long range application using a MRAD reticle. Math is much easier when determining elevation and wind adjustments. I would also suggest obtaining and using a ballistic calculator app and bring that to class. I used Strelok Pro. The apps are rarely "on the nose" for exact precision of shots, but for long range it gets you in the ballpark. Well done Fossil Pointe and Mike. Enjoyed the day and look forward to hitting steel with you in the future.

Been shooting there for a number of years, pistol, rifle, and sporting clays. First class range all the way around. Sporting clays is always fun, and they've got a pretty good course. Trap and skeet too. A number of the local youth teams train there. Family friendly. Up to 200 yd rifle anyone can shoot, but can go to another longer range out to 800 yds if you qualify (must qualify for each rifle, 5 shots at 200 yds, 1 MOA or less). Silhouettes only at the longer range, but they keep them painted pretty well.

Love this range I’m always at the pistol/rifle range. Staff is great always will help anyone out and very knowledgeable. I feel safer at this range compared to other ranges in North Texas.
