I went to this location to withdraw $60 in cash and close my account. The ATM was down, so I went inside. Instead of simply withdrawing the $60 and closing my account, the employee closed my account, issued a cashier’s check, and never gave me the cash. When I asked, he spent over 20 minutes on his computer before telling me the ONLY way to get the $60 in cash was to cash the entire check and pay a $16 “non-member fee.” In other words, I was expected to pay for THEIR mistake.
I tried cashing the check at Walmart for $8, but their system flagged it. When I called another DATCU branch, I was told the check was valid but my only option was to pay the $16 fee since it wouldn’t clear elsewhere. What should have been a simple 5-minute process turned into a 2-hour ordeal with no resolution. After driving 40 minutes to Denton just for this, my entire trip was wasted and I had to reschedule with the person I was meeting in Plano. Careless, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time.

I wanted to make a simple deposit and get some cash back. I sat there for over 20 minutes in the drive through and I was the only car! After waiting forever... she didn't bother giving me cash back, she just deposited the whole thing. When I said something she said oh I can get it for you... like maybe READ the deposit slip. And no I didn't want to drive back like suggested to get the money back, I wanted what I asked in the first place! I will never go back to that branch! This was unacceptable! Datcu called me today and the lady was nice but nothing but excuses. First was they were busy. Nope only me in line and 2 people in the window working. When I said nope that wasn't it. Then the story was the teller was trying to find someone in management to not put a hold on the check because it was a larger size check... not that big! Then it was they were at lunch. It was 2 or 2:30... so lunch when they are closing at 5:30. Maybe but is sounded more like excuses. I said well if the teller would have some communication skills and let me know I was going to be sitting there for basically 25 minutes for a deposit, I could have made that choice to stay & wait or not. I was also told that if I go to Aubrey branch, they know me there and things could have been faster and they would not have put the check deposit on hold. So which excuse was it?? That is a list of excuses to pick from... How about tell me the teller was new or just poor at her job! Tip... pick another branch, most all are better that this one! This is not the first issue there since they opened. It's just not a good branch.

This branch recently replaced the old ATM for a new one to allow costumers deposit cash, and withdraw cash on $1, $5, 10$, 20$, $50 and $100 bills. Awesome!!!

288. Deposited a fairly large amount of money to savings and they have to hold for 7 days . It’s my
Annuity funds .
I have enough in savings to cover the check, but still have to wait 7 days for funds to be available to me . Unacceptable in my opinion “ then I needed something notarized from my
Life insurance company/ annuity company. Could not notarize because there was not a specific line for a notary. I been a member there for well over 30 years. There should be exceptions for long time members with no problems . Needless to say I was beyond disappointed and frustrated!!! I called to talk to someone above the manager in that location. Same old rules and Excuses.
I think members should be treated better than that !!!

I love banking at DATCU Credit Union. Every employee is respectful and helpful. They give personal service, and they know their clients names and treat them like neighbors.
