Jalissa Doubles as a therapist LOL Does a fantastic job everytime!! Shes keeps the platinum platnumin' and the fine hair from breaking, her scalp massage is BOMB. Would highly recommend this salon, also one of the other gorgeous ladies does hair extensions here and she is insanely talented! I dont have them but if I ever learn how to save money, its ON

Bree is absolutely wonderful! Great shampooing massage, but what I enjoyed most was how patient she was with me. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted, the results were everything I hoped they would be! She is also very knowledgeable about different hair care products and shampoos! If I could give 100 starts I would ❤️

Leaving a review here too since my experience reflects both salons (same lack of care and negligence).
I came in with a very clear idea of what I wanted. I initially asked about blonde extensions to avoid dyeing my natural hair, but Brittney, their ‘extension specialist,’ advised against it due to my hair length. She said a warm honey blonde would suit my skin tone best, showed me inspo photos and said it would complement my skin tone best. I made it clear that tone was everything, especially after emphasizing how cautious I was about going lighter due to a past bad experience. I even asked Karol, the stylist they booked me with, multiple times to save those exact photos. She said she would get them.
Karol used a totally different photo, didn’t confirm anything with me, and gave me ashy gray hair with a thick/low money piece. After 5 1/2 hours in the chair, I walked out with the complete opposite of what we discussed in the consultation. I called the next day and was sent to Jess who also couldn’t correct my ash color and even thickened my money piece when I asked for it to be thinner.
After giving a second chance, I asked for a refund. The owner, Summer, said they don’t offer full refunds but offered me $60. Instead, she advised to come back a third time with Brittney, who supposedly had 7 years of experience.
That third appointment I asked Brittney repeatedly if my hair would still be light, just less ashy. She reassured me every single time. She applied toner, told me it would process for about 20 minutes and left me sitting for nearly 40 while she blow dried and curled another client’s hair. When she came back to rinse it, I asked one last time if it would still be light, and she said yes. Instead, my hair came out chestnut brown. Brittney said ‘It’ll lighten after a few washes,’ and ‘it’ll look brighter once curled.’ I told her not to bother curling anymore because I was pretty upset. Instead of apologizing, she said her manager would follow up. I left in tears. I was clear, patient, and gave them too many chances. I don’t care how ‘sweet’ they seemed, they were incompetent and dismissive.
After 3 appointments, $456 and hours of my time, I walked out with the exact opposite of what I wanted. It’s evident they bank on clients who won’t ask questions or push back, charging premium prices while putting in minimal effort/skill.
Update: the owner mentioned the refund was not stated in my review. To clarify, I informed her via text that I already shared my experience (which was this review) before requesting a full refund. Even though she did, which I do appreciate, it still does not take away from my experience and time spent here. I want to keep these posted to inform others don't accept vague responses to specific requests.

Bre did an amazing job on a layered cut for me!! She did a great job matching the style from a picture I brought and took her time to make sure the cut was exactly what I wanted. I’d definitely recommend Bre as a stylist and plan to come back to her for any styling in the future.
Edit: I also saw Karol to get a cut and loved the results!! She did a fantastic job recommending products, sharing styling tips, and listening to what I was looking for. I absolutely love the cut, and feel confident recommending Karol and Bre (and likely most stylists here) to friends and family.

Terrible experience - I left in tears frustrated. They asked me to come in for a test strand and would charge me $25 which I agreed to. I went in and they decided not to proceed with my appointment next day - which was okay with me. They were gonna then charge me $10 to cover the test strand or told me I could go home and do it myself lol - they will say they explained this to me earlier they didn’t. I agreed to pay the $10 to color it back and told them repeatedly I have a 4 month baby at home so please be mindful of my time. Took their sweet time mixing the color and coming back to me - took other clients while I sat waiting. I finally just removed the clips from my hair and walked out of the salon and paid the $25 with streaks of blonde in otherwise wise dark hair. I appreciate they are trying not to damage my hair but the test strand experience was terrible. The northlake location is much better.
In response to the owners reply:
I would like to keep you honest too - I got up from my seat and went straight to the cashier station and waited in line to pay as another person was being checked out - (I hope you have security cameras - go watch the recording - they will prove I am not lying). I paid, let the person know I had to leave as my baby was crying, and left the business - what scene did I cause????? Again, please go watch the cameras! I repeatedly did not ask to get my hair done once the decision not to proceed was decided. I asked ONCE hypothetically what would happen if I took the liability and the person answered the question and I understood. I was not unhappy with the test results, I even thanked the person for being protective of my hair. Instead of apologizing, you are accusing me of blatant lies. I am not entitled or demanding, I just expect to be treated fairly and honestly when I am a paying customer. I hope it’s not to due to the color of my skin - I saw another review that this place gives off racist vibes (not surprised after this experience).
I am protecting the person who assisted me by not saying her name but the most recent bad review for this business also mentions her name. I am all about sticking up for your employees but sometimes the employee needs to be given constructive feedback/ there were so many things she could have explained and done better to make my experience easier/better (for example - she suggested I go home and dye my own hair or I just hide the bleached strands by keeping my hair down indefinitely).

I got a haircut from Grace, she was absolutely amazing. Probably the best haircut I’ve ever had, and the service was amazing. She was so sweet and the whole staff was really welcoming. Also, really good prices, I was only $56 for my haircut wash and styling

It is always a pleasure to visit Denton Color Lab to see Summer and all the ladies there. it's a cool and friendly environment where I've never felt out of place, even though I'm a pretty square guy with an ordinary hair style. Summer has created that friendly, professional environment in the salon, and and she remains my favorite small businessperson in the Denton area.
