I love going here to look for things to use for my upcycling projects. They have a great selection of old cabinet doors that are great for making door hangers and signs.

After a fun day of thrift store/Vintage shopping with my sisters, we decided to visit Ruths room as our last stop. We were browsing for aprox 5 mins when a man stepped out of an office back room without a mask on and told my family they had to wear a mask if they wanted to shop, my sisters walked to the counter were the paper masks were being kept inside a USED (disgusting) tissue box where everyones hands have dipped inside touching everything including the paper masks. A female employee told me I had to wear one of those. I am disabled and have severe asthma. I told the woman due to breathing complications I cannot wear a mask, she literally ran off. Seconds later the maskless man from earlier walked up behind me as I was leaning over looking at an item. "Maam, maam, maam!" As I was straightening up this man says loudly and rudely "I guess you're hard of hearing". I turn around this man is 2 ft from me and tugging up his paper mask to cover his mouth and nose! This man chose to make a scene to shame and embarrass me before we ever exchanged words. I was told to either wear one of those masks inside that dirty tissue box or leave because he wanted his employees to "live". I did raise my voice because this man was breaking his own rules....twice. How do you justify getting that close to a woman, intimidating her by standing over her and being rude? Yes, I understand that the stores can do what they want. It's like "no shirt, shoes, no service" and I will comply with their rules (or leave) if they require that, which I did. The cult of masks should be over but some places still cant give it up even though the CDC/Fauci says masks dont work. Wearing a dirty paper mask that restricts breathing does nothing but make SOME people feel better mentally and that is pure selfishness. (For another debate) Stores like this are setting themselves up for a law suit. This stores rules violate the HIPAA act. This man told me the masks were to protect his volunteer employees. (I guess customers dont count). I would give this dirty store a zero if I could. Treating your customers in such a shameful display and encouraging others to shame and embarrass your customers is WRONG! He tried to get others involved because I guess standing over a 5'4 woman when your at least 6 ft man wasn't enough for him. This was the most vile and horrible treatment I've ever experienced since Covid. There are plenty of wonderful stores nearby to spend your money on, give this place a wide berth if you dont enjoy being harrassed and shamed by rude employees. *Mrs. Salcido

One star, but should be zero. Visited the thrift store in front of the Restore on University in Denton yesterday. We first wondered why there were no cars when we had just come from Ruth's Room on Carroll and the parking lot was full. Many items in the store had no prices so we had to ask what the price was. The employee, on every item, told us the item was not for sale (pictures on the wall, furniture, silverware, etc....everything). She even took something out of one of our hands and said, "Oh, this shouldn't have even been out there." We asked about at least 15 items, she told us the items were not for sale or already sold (no signs indicating they were sold). We asked to look around in the warehouse. In the warehouse we saw piles and piles of things in the warehouse with "sold" signs. It appeared to us that these items never made it to the floor. The employee was extremely rude and is certainly not an asset for Habitat. Not one of the 5 of us bought anything. She pretty much wouldn't let us. We've read similar reviews since this experience. Habitat should take these reviews seriously and take corrective action. Folks donate because they want to help others. This behavior results in an empty parking lot, no sales, and upset customers. So upset they take the time to officially complain. By the way, drove down the street to Goodwill after this bad experience and at least 25 cars in the parking lot. We all spent money. You guys lost our business.
