I don’t personally bank with this institution, but I would think if I changed from my current banker, I would definitely consider point bank. I was given a check from someone today and had to go cash it at point bank, when I walked in the door of the location on IH 35 and Teasley, in Denton, Texas I was promptly greeted with four friendly hellos, And four people inside waiting to help me out. Good customer service is kind of hard to come by these days in my personal opinion, but these guys did an exceptional job, and if you are an executive for Point Bank reading this, I highly encourage you make sure you retain these valuable assets for your organization. Big time thank you to Brennan, Corwin, Daniel, and Mason. Great job gentlemen. Enjoy your weekend!

My late wife and I opened individual checking accounts as well as a College savings account back in 2009 at the Aubrey location. The staff there was excellent; they did not "snub" as for not being extravagantly wealthy, in fact they treated us like millionaires. A year later we moved into Denton proper and switched to the North Branch on Carroll Blvd. We received the same top notch service, courtesy and comfort level as in Aubrey. The North Branch Vice-president, Aaron Benedict always shares a funny or interesting anecdote and in jest calls me Serpico; the staff of tellers are always warm and ordinarily recognize me even though I am not in the building all that often. (5 Stars for the North Branch and Aubrey locations)Then in April 2023, I had reason to conduct a particular transaction at the South Branch on I35E near Teasley. Due to health issues (permanent disability), two hospitalizations and the requirement at my advanced age to produce an original/state seal birth certificate for the renewal, my driver's license was about 45 days past due. The teller was quite a young man (boy) who was obviously new in the job, refused to execute the transaction - which was a simple cash advance (>$1k) from my Soc. Sec. Benefits debit card to deposit in my checking account- because of the lapsed D/L.I pulled out my Social Security card, my Medicare card, my United Healthcare Insurance card to assure the boy teller that I was indeed the person named on the Social Security debit card to no avail. I mean, ALL I was doing was depositing money into my checking account, not even taking money in hand. My frustration was noticed by the Branch Officer - Daniel Boles - and he gave the teller the "go ahead" to complete the transaction. Now I had been doing this exact transaction at the North Branch (1700 Carroll Blvd) every month for three years and rarely did a teller need to have me produce a picture ID; everyone knew who I was.I understand how these sorts of identity verification are necessary in many cases - large sums around $10k, questionable checks or documents - but I am a customer with three accounts being run at PointBank since 2009. In fact the ONLY reason I had to go to the South Branch was because the "dedicated" phone line that is used for cash advance approvals was out of order at the North Branch that month. Now when I finally got the "Highly Suspicious" cash advance deposited into my PointBank checking account and walked out to the parking lot my car was on fire! Argh!!! There had been a short in the headlamp that was supposed to have been repaired but apparently not well enough. I ran back into the bank and asked if they had a fire extinguisher. So, in fact the South Branch Officer - Mr. Boles - came outside quickly with the extinguisher and saved anything but minor smoke and wiring damage to my car. For that I am extremely grateful. However, the cash advance phone line at the North Branch has yet to be repaired - It's September 1, 2023.I had to go back to the South Branch again twice for the EXACT SAME transaction with the EXACT SAME boy-teller who has "chastised me like I'm a twelve year old who's dog ate his homework" EACH TIME acting as if they don't know who I am, whether I am laundering money, stealing some old person's Social Security Benefits debit card or what...funding terrorists perhaps! If it weren't such a pain in the a** I would laugh hysterically. I mean I could just drive through their darned ATM, withdraw the cash (NO ID REQUIRED - what??!!) and deposit the cash into my checking account - but that gigs me for $3.50 ATM fee because my Social Security debit card is NOT a PointBank card, each time I need to DEPOSIT MORE OF MY MONEY into THEIR BANK. Funny, but I thought that making deposits INTO a bank would be welcomed and assisted - NOT be a repeatedly HUMILIATING EXPERIENCE!I DO NOT need THIS BANK. I will be going to my local CREDIT UNION where they will actually ASSIST ME to deposit MY MONEY! Good Riddence Mr. Boles and

Chantel McLaughlin was the personal banker that assisted me in opening a new account today. She greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. She was super helpful and informative. She made my 1st experience at Point Bank a good one.

This bank just doesn't seem to have a grip on the way the financial worlds work any more. I've been with this bank over 5 years. Had all my business accounts with them. And then they "Upgraded" a second time in the year of so many new procedures placed on us. Bad timing can get us all, but they upgraded to not allow you access to your account number with paleolithic apps. They stated it's to keep you from fraudulent activity. And they are right! If you don't have your account number, you cannot set up auto pay on any bills or use your money outside a debit or check, and therefore money doesn't come out of your account (is this why you are advertising loans so desperately now?). I also worked at a bank in 2008, when mobile banking was brand spanking new. The upgraded app has the same functionality as that app did 14 years ago! I swear the person in charge of that decision was well over 60 and just learned AOL. For the future, please realize that people want ACTUAL customer service, the 1950s smile isn't good enough. I have since left for a bank that smiles at you AND understands the money I deposited is for my own use and not the banks. I strongly suggest going to Bank of the Ozarks or Inwood Bank if you want a small town bank, with modern technology.

Our Church got a loan from this bank to purchase a property for worship. We had the loan for several years until we finally paid it off. We never missed a payment however, dealing with this bank was not a pleasant experience, specifically their loan officer Greg Pelzel. I definitely would not recommend them.

I recently went to make a deposit at the bank and in a conversation with the teller, Tim, he offered to help me with an issue. As I walked into the Bank there was Chantel waiting to help me. The kindness of the staff was outstanding. They treated me like family. Thank you Tim, Chantel and Daniel. Great customer service!

While I haven't been super thrilled with the new ''upgrade'' what I am thrilled with is the staff. I called upset that I haven't been able to get into my online account; Hillary was the one to help me. She was so kind, she listened to my problem, was able to help me quickly and helped walk me through how to log in. She was so knowledgeable and nice, so for the new "upgrade" 1 star, but for Hillary 5 stars!!

I have been a customer of Point bank for many years. I am talking 10+ years. I have even referred many people to them. They turn around as soon as I file some fraud on my account and had to go with out my debit card. 1st of all when I asked where my debit card was 2 weeks after filing the fraud Point bank said due to me havong to order 5 debit cards since opening account they wont give me another one. What? I had this account with 3 direct deposits going in the account for several years. I have had over 65k in deposits in this account alone last year however when I hit a down fall in life and went negative in my account and I was only negative 2 weeks however I have direct deposit going in that account well they chose to be sneaky and close my account and withdraw funds from my other account causing a huge hardship on my family. Shame on you point bank!

Liked this bank until this latest tech upgrade. Poorly planned or not planned at all. We, like many others, use Quicken or Quick books. For the last three weeks we have been unable to download from the bank. The failure to be able to do so came as a complete surprise to bank management (the poor planning). Unable to balance checkbook with no solution in sight.

Excellent teller employees @ the Corinth location. Current problem @ the Corinth location is their terrible upper management decision to close ALL their outside car booths except one. That one open booth is the so-called automated drive in. All others have been closed to service customers for the past month or so. In addition, they also plan to open their commercial drive in window later in the morning starting in September. But fortunately there is a bank just up the street that opens their drive in @ 8 A.M. Have banked with Point Bank for over 40 years and seen these type of changes several times.. Where is management making better decisions? Originally gave them a 2 star rating but moved it up to just a 3 star after they called me requesting a better rating.

I walked in and Ms. Mclaughlin was super helpful in helping me feel like a special person and not just anybody on the street. She was very informative and kind. 10/10 on the customer service.
