I had family unexpectedly come in town and needed a couple of extra beds last minute and the Walking G came to the rescue! My family members had a glowing review of the place. They loved the character, charm and comfort this place has to offer. Thank you Walking G, we will be coming back!

Let’s just say overpriced for what you get. I appreciate a nice B&B, but one that also comes with additional services like breakfast, fresh coffee and welcoming service. When I first called to check on a reservation the person that answered the phone just said hello. Not very professional if this is a business. I wasn’t sure if I dialed the wrong number or if they were really open. I booked online, and we decided to stay in Dimmitt vs Hereford at the Holiday Inn which was $150 for the night as this B&B was closer. I was looking forward to staying at the B&B but was somewhat disappointed. For $180 a night it provided very little amenities outside of a clean bed. For starters, we found a large partially alive / dead cockroach in the room. While I understand it’s an old building, the cleaning crew should have found this before we arrived, gross. So we made sure all of our bags were up on wracks and off the floor. The bathroom is tiny, not ADA accessible. The shower has no caddy or anything to place soap in so you have to place your toiletries in the sink as you shower. The bathroom mirror is set really high, I’m 5’ 4 and could barely see my forehead. We noted on the reservation that 4 people were staying in the room and we only had 4 basic hotel towels which is not enough for washing hair etc... The toilet seat was also broken which was annoying. No robes were provided or anything else for drying (things typically provided at a nice B&B). While they have a snack bar and mini fridge they charge for everything, at least supply water bottles for your guests. Again, for $180 / night you really are overpaying in Dimmitt, Texas for a basic room. The bed was comfy and sheets soft however, we did have issues finding the room when we arrived. The address took us off the main road so we had to call the host a few times for directions, she didn’t seem very pleased that we had to call back multiple times. It said room 101 in the email but the signs only read 103, 104 etc…(I could be off on my numbers but something like this) we didn’t realize we had to go into 103 first to gain access to our room so that was a bit annoying. Dimmitt has a cute coffee shop around the corner, this B&B should partner with them for a voucher for fresh coffee and muffins. It would be a nice touch as again $180 / night is high for the area. We could also hear a dog barking in another room so the walls are pretty thin. All in all, it was ok…nothing to rave about. Provide additional amenities for your guests to compensate for the pricepoint.

We were in the area for a machinery consignment auction & chose this place for the night. It was a very nice & clean place. The bed had a memory foam mattress which was comfortable. The only drawback to giving a 5 star is the fact that our room was right next to the street with a 4 way stop on the corner. There was a slight lull to the truck traffic in the middle of the night otherwise it was constant. My husband actually wore ear plugs in order to get some sleep. We’ll stay again but we will DEFINITELY ask for a room on the other side of the building. This establishment is a no contact place other then the breakfast cook if you stay for breakfast.

Not a lot of options in this area and the Walking G was a pleasant surprise. We had seen the signs when in town before so wanted to visit. The room in the Old Hotel was charming, everything clean and comfortable. Snacks in the room, available breakfast and a nice coffee shop next door rounded out a very nice stay. Will definitely come again.

Will not stay here again. They charge your card for full payment before you arrive unlike any other hotel I’ve ever stayed with. & my wife & toddler were locked out because we went past checkout but didn’t have a way to get back to the hotel to them to check out on time.

We loved our 1 night stay here. Our single queen bed room was perfect. Very clean, very comfortable, and very cozy. We are YouTube TV people ourselves and were stoked to see they had smart tv’s with the same service ready to go. Juanita was the best, she had the common room ready and the table was set for our family breakfast. We will be coming back to stay here on our Dinmit visits

I had a lovely night staying at the Walking G Guesthouse! They did a great job of renovating the building an creating a warm and inviting bed and breakfast. I’m not usually a breakfast person but the delicious aroma that drifted into my room got me right out of bed! I was not disappointed! I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place to stay while in the area or passing through town!
