All of the team at Austin Equine is wonderful! The doctors are lovely and take excellent care of my senior horse. He had a huge laceration and I was very worried about him. They took great care of him! I highly recommend!

Do not use this clinic if your a person that has opinion they are too brittle they fire you as a client if you disagree Now that they have dismissed me as a client claiming I was abusive oThe staff. I replied no not abusive just serious because of the runaround and concern of my horse and days keep going by with no antibiotic for a five hole abscess they strung me on for 5 days with no answers after the vet told me she would give me one Myfarrier said it was one of the biggest he has ever seen now I’m bot sure but the last abscess I had had to have an antibiotic to get my blood stream free of infection. We have done horses 60 years and all abscesses were treated with antibiotic. I’m very disappointed in this clinic. My horse has a 5 hole abscess the first vet was grand the next one was not. This vet was suppose to leave me a antibiotic and forgot. I text her right away and ask For one and she did not leave a prescription as ask then the office lady would not allow me to pic one up because of no prescription and she couldn’t call anyone. This is a strange situation to me. I paid almost 1300 for three visits you would think I could get some help with my horses abscess not only no help she originally told me that he did Not have an abscess and I argued with her and said yes he does the farrier said it was one of the largest abscesses he had ever seen. Knowing it needed to be antibiotics and yet she didn’t dispense Art any. It’s now 4 today into one this knoww we ng from third I would b we by Monday to pic one up.I’m so angry now my horse must go another 24 hrs to get help shame on this place

My husband said, "Let bygones be bygones." My friend - a longtime Austin Equine Customer - said, " If you're in a pinch for a vet, they'll step-up out of concern for the horse." Unfortunately, her assessment proved to be wrong. Backstory: Years ago, I complained, verbally and in writing, to Austin Equine because I specifically asked to work with a chosen vet, not an intern. I had been warned that, oftentimes, the vet chosen steps aside and supervises; thus, letting the intern work. I specifically asked that only the chosen vet work on my horse. My beloved horse is not a teaching tool for an intern nor do I want to pay sky-high prices for the B team. My money my choice... Right? Not at Austin Equine. As you might guess, an intern descended on my horse upon arrival. I waived her away. The vet begins to examine my horse. While discussing my horse's condition, intern descends upon my horse again to jab a needle into her neck. As I leave, I confirm with the front desk that my file indicates my request that no intern(s) should handle my horses' care at all, even while under the supervision of the selected vet. The answer: yes, my file indicates that request when I scheduled the appointment. Hmmmm... As if that isn't enough, the instructions provided for the care of my fragile horse weren't delivered as promised in a time-sensitive situation. Also, the instructions for her after care included date errors specifically, duplications of dates delineated. WOW! The meds required exact dosing. Now, I'm very unhappy. I'm the paying customer with forty years of experience in the horse world as a student, horse owner and competitor in two different disciplines plus I managed a 50 acre equestrian center for a decade. I've lived in three different states, as horse owner. I've valued my relationships with my vets in every state. They'd take my calls today. I paid my bills promptly and followed their instructions precisely. When I reach-out to complain to Austin Equine, I'm blacklisted. Recently, three years later, when I reach-out in a pinch with a colic, I'm reminded that I complained years ago, about their process and mistakes; so, it's a no. In my opinion and based on my experience over the course of 40 years in three different states, I rate this practice as the very worst I've ever encountered.

I cannot say enough good about Drs. Joyce, Dobbs, Marley and Carlton and their staff. They took care of our beloved Piper after a horrible injury and went above and beyond to provide the best surgical and post surgical care. They were a huge comfort to me and my family--always being available to answer questions or comfort us as things became difficult. The facility is beautiful, clean and welcoming as well. We truly appreciate all of the rock stars at Austin Equine!

Austin Equine has saved many horses for us including 3 colics, an eye injury, a horrible leg injury which healed completely. They also do great work with Equine dentistry. We had a mare who didn't lose a baby tooth and it caused an impaction which was resolved. They do a wonderful job foaling out our mares. I hope they expand their facility because there are so many customers and so they are usually very full stall wise. We lost one mare to colic that we brought in, but she was beyond saving sadly. The staff was in tears as much as we were.
