Gas pump card readers don't work most of the time. I've had to abort getting gas to escape getting swarmed by bees, which are a constant problem in the overflowing trashcans. Went in to pay for my gas since pump reader wouldn't work, young male cashier was at first register, so I stopped there. He looked at me, frowned and made some weird hand gesture a couple of times without speaking, so I decided that meant for me to go to the other register, very rude. Second cashier was nice.

Slowest fuel pump ever! Seriously, after about 15 minutes I gave up and left here with less than 8 gallons of fuel in my tank.

Welcome to beautiful Eden Texas! In case you can't tell, I'm being just a *touch* sarcastic. After my second trip through Eden, and my second stop at the Alon station there, I finally realized that the town name HAS to be in reference to its proximity to San Angelo - only in comparison to THAT wonderful city could this place be considered a garden! OK, the locals seem to like it. And the hunting seems to be good. But I digress... The Alon station is certainly a decent place to stop, gas up, grab a (fried) meal and/or a comfort break, and pick up on-road snacks or automotive supplies like oil or washer fluid. The prices are pretty good, as with most Alon stations, and the attendants seem to be unfailingly friendly and helpful. Gotta love Texas small-town folk, they are the real treasure here. Recommended. Be aware that half the population of Eden reside at the local "Detention Center," so be wary of hitchhikers.
