I normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience with South Texas Buick GMC has been unbelievably frustrating. My truck is less than 2 years old, and I’ve already had to bring it into their service department five different times for the SAME transmission issue.
Here are the exact dates of my visits:
• October 10, 2025
• September 24, 2025
• October 20, 2025
• November 21, 2025
• December 10, 2025
Every single time, they tell me the truck is “fixed,” and every single time the transmission problem comes back within 2–3 weeks. A truck this new should NOT be going back to the dealership over and over for the same issue.
It feels like they are just clearing codes or doing the bare minimum instead of actually diagnosing and repairing the root of the problem. There’s no accountability, no real solution, and no long-term fix from this service department.
I’m tired of wasting time, missing work, and driving back and forth for a problem that should have been resolved the first time.
I’ve completely lost trust in South Texas Buick GMC.
Save yourself the stress and go somewhere that stands behind their work.

I wanted to share some concerns about my recent visit to the Edinburg Buick/GMC dealership.
When I arrived at the lube center, the employee on duty was on the phone and didn’t acknowledge me at all. A quick greeting or simple “I’ll be right with you” would have gone a long way. I only went in because I had points to cover the oil change, but the customer service fell short of what I expected.
When I came back to pick up my vehicle, no one was at the counter, and the employee who eventually helped me was not friendly. When I asked where my vehicle was, all he said was “next door,” without any clear direction.
I also asked about the warranty on the gas cap for my GMC truck and was told I would need to leave my vehicle for four days just for someone to look at it. That seems excessive for such a simple issue, especially since I need my vehicle for work.
On top of that, my experience after purchasing my last vehicle—a 2026 Buick—was also disappointing. The salesperson was rude when I called the next day, yet later contacted me asking for a positive survey. Because of that interaction, I chose not to complete the survey.
Overall, I left feeling very disappointed. It seems like there may be a lack of leadership or oversight, because the customer service I experienced did not meet the standards I would expect from your dealership.
