TLDR: My hair was cut unevenly, and I had a bad overall experience with the hairdressers I had during this time. I hadn't had this happen before, it's not something I expect of this salon.I had Mariela for my appointment. I wanted a shorter hairstyle, so Mariela referred me instead to Natalie, who took over. My sister loved Mariela, she got her hair cut by her, so no hate to her. (Or anyone else, just venting my situation.)Natalie proceeded to cut my hair, which I had initially been okay with. (Now, I want you to keep in mind that I can't see without my glasses - like AT ALL - and I took them off during the session to make sure she could cut the sides correctly.)When it was all said and done, I put my glasses back on to see my hair one inch longer on one side and short on the other. I asked for an even cut with no layers, with a side part. She blamed the unevenness on my glasses, on my hair thickness, and side part, but I asked my mom, sister, and people around to assess the hair. They all insisted it was uneven, but the girl said it was not until we all told her it was.Natalie cut my hair more and more, but still it was uneven and now my hair was much shorter than I had wanted. I started to become distressed and asked her to stop cutting. A woman came by the name of Maritza/Missy, and she insisted it was all in the balance of my hair.Now, while she didn't claim that anyone made a mistake at that time, she did say she could fix my hair at no cost (which was kind, yes). She said I could come early in the morning the next day since I declined to have anyone else cut my hair that day. I came in early with my mother, but it was another 15 minutes before she let us in and she claimed she was busy.During my cut, she did claim a mistake was made, but kept making offhand comments about how she knew a lot about hair and that mistakes can happen to others. That it was all in the balance of the hair, and it doesn't matter if it seemed unbalanced, because she checked and said it was.I left still slightly uneven and in a fouler mood than when it had began. As kind as the action was to offer to fix my hair, the way it happened didn't feel good. I admit I was anxious and distressed, but I think my distress was fair for the most part.I had never had issues with this salon prior to this experience. I put my full trust into these people because I thought they would do a good job. I was wrong.

Very bad experience. Got my hair wash & curled by Mariela. Once I got home I touched my hair it was super dry. Also from the hairspray even felt damaged. Don’t waste your money coming to Jcp Salon. Not to mentioned she seemed rushed other staff kept coming by her station to remind her of her upcoming appointments.Service: Hairstyling

Do Not go here!! They left my hair very choppy!! & when I went back to tell them to fix it, the staff laughed at the haircut! & the salon manager was Noo help she said I had to pay again to fix their mistake!! What a Horrible manager that JCPenney salon has!

I went into the salon looking like the average 24 year old but left the salon looking like a 40 year old in 1980.The hairstylist didn’t even bother asking how I part my hair or how I style it, the haircut itself is awfully choppy and definitely not what I asked for. I suspect she was nervous because she was new and what seemed to be management and team members were talking about new employees in a not so polite way. I paid about $45 and left a tip for the lady solely because I felt bad that she had to deal with the toxicity of that workplace. Definitely do not recommend. customer service 2/10. Haircut itself 1/10. Products used 8/10. Pricing 5/10.Service: Haircut

My son and I came here for 2 different services. I just had a hair treatment, while my son, had a perm. I was nervous about my son’s perm because: 1) It is his first perm and 2) It may not turn out the way he wants it.Hair perm can be a bit tricky, and my son just wants that big curls to give his hair some body and bounce because his hair is so flat and straight (which is my dream hair). Both my stylists and his stylist are not just knowledgeable but skilled; meaning they can execute, and execute it well. If you want you hair done, you have to try JC Penny, and look for either Hana or Mariela.

Worst customer service, they couldn’t return a hair straighter because I didn’t purchase the item at that jc penny. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. I’m from the valley and they want me to go back to Victoria, Tx to return an item!!!! Are they out of their minds? Pretty much didn’t want to help me out & there was no manager to help me out.

They are super great here! It was my first visit and I’ll def become a regular now. They personalize the experience for you, without rushing you at all. At the price was super reasonable for the experience you get!

I had my first experience at this salon yesterday. I had a baby 7 months ago and haven’t had a hair-cut in almost 2 years! Post-partum your hair starts to fall out and it can really make you feel self-conscious about your hair! Alonzo did such an amazing job taking care of my hair and making me feel very comfortable. He was so friendly, professional, and made sure I was getting the cut I wanted. His finished product made me feel beautiful. He took extra time to help select products for my hair that fit what I wanted. He was so pleasant and the overall experience was beyond expectations being met. I just want to thank him for truly being an amazing hairdresser and person. The staff who came to help us at checkout were also very friendly. I would recommend this salon to everyone. Thanks again! I went back in May and was attended by Alejandro. I got a balayage with blue coloring, the color faded within two days(not even exaggerating literally the day after it was faded). However, the worst part is that he overcharged me. I should have known that when his coworker questioned the way he was charging me that I should have been more careful of what I was paying for. I was charged 2 glossings and 2 dyes even though at that time my hair was shoulder length. Needless to say I will never go back to that location again.
