I can’t wait to adopt again, me and my husband went about 2 years ago to “just see” and we walked out with a puppy and she’s the best thing ever if you can, adopt don’t shop

Staff - 10/10 very understanding, quick, polite, and provide all that you need! Environment - the pup room is very well taken care of but the adult dogs area wasn't as great the last time I went. I would've wanted to check out more of the adult ones. They take in a ton of dogs and cats from AC and take care of them so nicely. I went in to foster a pup (which ended up being a foster fail) and they provided everything I needed. I wish I could take in more pups from them if they did a transport service to the East Coast. Great job, PVAS!

I wouldn't reccomend this center for adoption. They try and pull a bait and switch. They had a beautiful 2 yo pug. The only adult in the small dogs section. When I said that I would like to have her I was told she was tagged to go to an out of state facility. I she wasn't available she should have separated from the rest needless to say I was pretty angry when I left there. I see that they only respond to positive reviews and ignore the negative ones

I don't know why there's so many negative reviews but I had a great experience here. Just to let you you know they are not going to answer the phone , they are so busy it's better to just go in person . They are trying their best to take in dogs & cats and dealing with diseases the animals come with and helping sick animals in need.It is not easy . The environment there is heckteck and yes the smell isn't pleasant, its an animal shelter. I adopted my 3 month old kitten bowie and they checked him for any medical concerns before I got him. The employees here are so sweet and helpful even if it's so busy ! Thank you so much! You guys deserve so much for what you guys do, and they need to raise the pay for the employees and staff because the amount of work you guys do is crazy !Thank you for helping the animals in need ❣️ I will definitely be adopting more in the future

Horrible experience. Jay Garza anger issues are amusing. I thought he was going to get violent he was so wide eyed and angry. I think they are selling pups out of the place tbh. They yanked two pups out from under me and my children after I was already approved for. Horrible place. I feel for the animals there

Adopted my cat back in 2020 and I may have spoiled him

This is the problem. The pets are wonderful, the people are trying to help but the system is broken. They give you a voucher for getting your adoptee fixed and the schedule is so backed up you can't get it done.smelly nasty dirty place.

I went here to get my dog microchipped. It was an easy and painless experience. It was obvious that the people that worked there loved animals. There was a lot of compassion in the room for my dog when we walked in.The microchipping was simple and quick. I actually held my dog as they put the chip in him. All the paperwork and registration was done within 15 minutes.I didn't get to experience any of their other services, but judging by my short experience there, it would be a great place to adopt a pet. There were pictures of the dogs that needed fostering and adopting on the wall, as well as signs showing the ones that did get adopted. If I were to suggest a place to adopt, or get microchipped, PVAS Trenton Center would be it. ?

I’ve been waiting almost a week for a call back from intake department. When they specifically said 24-48 hours.I’m aware of the short staff issue, but even to get through to reception is difficult. I called 3 times and no answer? Disappointing.

Well I've been calling all day no answer so if they got a paid receptionist there paying her for nothing cuz they never answer phone calls... What's the point on putting a phone number if you guys don't answer ??? Terrible receptionist ????

never take any animal with them. my dog had to be quarantined with them, he came home sick, weak and his paws were super swollen. they just throw in bleach to clean their cages. it’s a mess in there!

I’ve been trying to get in contact with anyone from the Trenton center for days regarding a dog I want to foster. Don’t bother calling they won’t pick up.

Amazing place. We came by to leave a donation, and made a lot of questions about fostering. The ladies were very kind and patient with my questions.Donate. Adopt. Foster!

DO NOT BRING ANY ANIMAL NEAR THIS PLACE! We were fostering a dog through them, the dog started getting sick so we brought her here to be evaluated; overnight she passed away and PVAS did not even contact us to let us know, we had to come in person as we had not received any updates. After her passing we were going to cremate her so we could keep her remains. Called ahead of time to make sure they were going to keep her until the cremation services could pick her up. THEY DID NOT HOLD HER! The city of Edingburg had taken her body the morning of the day she was supposed to be picked up to be cremated. All they could say was that the tape must of came off by mistake and no one took responsibility of what had happened; not only that, but our dog was not the only one taken by mistake.
