I'm upset. I have never had any issues until my most recent visit. Just to be clear this isn't the first time I've brought in our oldest pup to this location. Just a lil background my pup is a rescue from a breeder. She was in bad shape and already on the older side when I saved her. We've lived in the Austin, Tx area for almost the entirety of her recooperation and moved to EP last year. She has a heart murmur that has been confirmed multiple times even at this location. Today's visit was different. Apparently no heart murmur was found.. a miracle? No, I think it was just they were more focused on the fact that she hasn't been spayed. Plenty of vets in ATX advised me it may be a 50/50 chance of survival for her getting spayed so I just chose to not risk it. I have 3 other dogs all boys and all neutered, I haven't had a problem. Today's visit was different I felt like I was being accused of being a backyard breeder. Something I despise since we saved her from that, my entire visit paperwork was a literal paragraph of unlicensed breeding, consequences etc. If they would've checked her history they would've known where she is at in health and what decisions we have taken since the beginning of her care with Banfield. Just left me with a bad taste in my mouth especially when I requested to speak with Dr. Goodman to go over her visit n was told she was in a meeting. All this was, was a comprehensive visit that comes with her plan and I get this? I know these type of people exist everywhere but know the profiles you are visiting before giving this entire soap box. Good day.

My dogs 11 and 7 have been wellness patients since the day I got them it has helped keep them happy and healthy, last weekend my 11 year old dog was vomiting not eating or pooping after trying conservative treatment because he was showing no signs of pain and his blood work was normal X-rays we’re done on him ,turns out his colon flipped and he was full of gas not showing abdomen pain after Saturday holding down water weird on Tuesday the decision was made he had to have surgery dr Marquez operated on him he is a great vet he does gods work in my opinion I can’t thank him enough for helping my dog feel better all you have to do is talk to him once and you know he loves what he does and cares about every pet he sees and knows pets when he has seen them once already the whole team at that Banfield is great and took really good care of Newman and I appreciate it dr Marquez explained what was going on in detail to me he made things alot easier for most importantly my dog but me as well he is a great vet it’s now Wednesday my dog is eating again and feeling much better I am grateful for the care he was given by everyone Thank you to everyone and especially dr Marquez I really appreciate all of you helping to get Newman feeling better .well thank you for the well wishes for my dog but today I had a horrible experience when I called to get Newman in for a sick visit cause Newman was having black tary stools to make a long story short dr Goodman was spoken to by receptionist and receptionist said that something coming out was good cause I asked about constipation from med but if I was concerned take him to far east animal clinic I mean he’s a patient at Banfield has been for 11 years I was also told it would take 2 hours for X-rays and ultrasound machine is old when there was a drop off appointment open today his symptoms were not emergency symptoms it’s what I was trying to avoid he went to another vet and they found out what is wrong with him sent him home with meds the point is it should not of happened I should not of had to absorb the exam fee from another vet for her not wanting to see him for whatever reason doesn’t like him doesn’t want to deal with him whatever reason idk and idc I just want ppl to know that the team of ppl at this Banfield are all wonderful except dr Goodman she pretty much refused to see him when it is something under his wellness plan he is entitled to all she had to do was examine him and tell me he needs X-rays and she would of known what was wrong that’s what the other vet did definitely does not define Banfield cares that’s what the recording says and we are here for the life of your pet I do my part to keep my dogs healthy and always thought Banfield would do their part but I guess you run into ppl that are like that hopefully all the meds he was given help him

I'm still giving 5 stars because of the team that took care of Newman last Tuesday and dr Marquez because they were wonderful as I have already said but today is Friday and Newman was having issues after surgery that I was concerned about I called and the receptionist spoke to dr Goodman and she said some poop coming out is a good thing but if I'm concerned take him to far east animal clinic which the whole point behind the wellness plan that I pay for is number one to make sure every 6 months they get comprehensive exam to catch illness and number 2 to see the dog when they are sick it was not emergency symptoms I told receptionist I was worried he may be constipated I took him off the med she said the vet said if he needs X-rays it's going to take a couple hours to get them back or their ultrasound machine was old and some other stuff that is completely unacceptable to me if she would not treat her own dog that way she should not be doing it to other ppls dogs who trust her to care for their dog or cat Newman has been a wellness plan patient for 11 years I ended up taking him to another vet who checked him out did x rays and said he was constipated and had some gas in there and his intestines were inflamed so they sent him home on medication to treat all of it the worst part of all of it is there was a drop off appointment available this morning even worse than that there are a lot of ppl that would of took her words of something coming out is a good thing as ok the vet says something coming out is a good thing. Thank god I did not I don't understand why she wouldn't see him if she doesn't like him or didn't want to deal with him I just don't know but I'm not happy that it happened I spoke to site manager she is very nice and very understanding as to how I felt the last thing dr Marquez told me was I'm not going to be here for 5 days if you have any issues call us well I did and she pretty much refused to see him sadly I'm not mad about it I'm disappointed because he just had surgery on Tuesday and black tarry stool was a real concern that she could of examined him and chose not to so when you say Banfield cares that definitely does not express Banfield cares to me anyways so I absorbed the cost of another vet where he has never been to had to examine him and part of the wellness plans is not paying for office visits it's truly disappointing that a vet would do that and I am certain if dr Marquez was there this would not have happened because like I stated in my earlier review he does gods work and I truly believe that in the end hopefully my dog is ok but my dogs will not be seen by her again sadly I've already contacted site manager and Banfield cares as wiell

Last time I went here they didn't want to care for my cat. Still I paid for nothing. That was 6 months ago. Today I decided to re enroll my pet in the wellness plan and try to make her an appointment to find out they deleted her records, because and as per customer service, she receives care elsewhere. I never mentioned that. What the heck...

This is not my regular vet, I was referred here by the east side Banfield. However, they have been taking good care of my boy who has been diagnosed with heart disease. We're working on solutions for him.

Only schedule surgery here as a last result if your primary vet can't help you. This place runs like a surgery assembly line with very little thought about after surgery care.

Yesterday my dog was attacked by my two other dogs and I called and asked could he be seen and the answer was yes. He was seen by Dr. Marquez and team requiring constructive surgery on both ears and sutures and staples on multiple wounds on his body. Thank You for the awesome service and care. TY!! Jasmine for making it happen. Buddy and I are forever grateful!!!

Im a 13 year customer with Banfeild and I’m so disappointed that I don’t ever want to go back. This business is good for vaccinations and check ups. They are also constantly changing doctors so good luck trying to stay with one. When it comes to surgery’s go elsewhere. I have an old girl that needed some blood blisters removed. When I took her in, the doctor didn’t want to talk to me because she felt sick so she sent her assistant back and fourth to relay messages. I was advised that I would have to get X-rays to see if my pup could halve the anesthesia. Then the doc sent her assistant to come and tell me that they had something irregular show up and needed to do a sonogram. Welp the assistant came out to pull me into a room to finally speak with the doc. She pretty much said “we can’t do the surgery because she has a mass on her spleen and she’s old” you have two options to think about. Put your dog down or I can give you pain meds and just let her live out her days. Devestating news, however my dog was still full of life and I could not take that as a final answer. After nickel and diming me for $300 and not even checking or switching her bandages I was left with a decision to have her put to sleep a couple of days later. I decided to get a second opinion and go to an actual animal hospital. Guess what?! They said she was a good candidate for surgery and did not need to be put down. Not only did they remove her blood blisters they also performed a splenectomy. Dr. Waltzer at East El Paso Animal hospital saved my best friend by giving me several options (euthanasia not being one of them) My old girl is recovering fast and has an extra pep in her step. Thank god I listened to my gut and didn’t give up on her like Banfield did. Not to mention the procedure for everything was cheaper than it would have cost to have ONLY the blisters reomoved at Banfeild. What the heck am I paying $45 a month for?

My dogs enjoy going to their appointments. Staff is very nice and informative and gives my dogs a lot of love. They are very patient with my dog that can be overstimulated or anxious. I will always recommend this clinic and their staff!

I have been taking my precious pets here since they were babies and they get the absolute best care! Their plan is so comprehensive and it takes care of all their needs. Banfield deserves more than 5 stars?
