First, let me start with the good. The furniture and beds were new. This fact is what makes the rest so incredibly weird. Onward to the rest. -The carpet was so gross, I would not take my shoes off. Old, brown, stained and dirty. -The bathroom was so tiny, a heavier person would have to step into the bathtub in order to close the door while using the toilet. -The toilet height was perfect for a toddler, not an adult. -The bathroom door had no hooks and was scratched all over with pealing paint -There was no drain cover in the tub. -The tub didn’t drain. It looked like remnants of food/vomit and dirt bubbled up out of the clogged drain. -The sink drain had no cover. DO NOT WASH YOUR HANDS with rings on. -The entire bath and sink area was crowded and impossible for two people to share comfortably. I will not return.

The people that are employees at this hotel are so friendly and helpful! Jacob was at the front desk. He found us such a quiet room. Then we were tired from driving all day, so we decided to eat at the small restaurant there. Our waitress, Dallas, was absolutely delightful!!! We enjoyed our time there. She was extremely attentive to every customer! The burger was delicious with the shoe string fries. This place is being renovated, but I would still return!

My wife and I had a four-day stay at the El Paso Holiday Inn Sunland Park last week. Because I am a Human Factors Engineer who has helped companies create better experiences for users of products and services, I couldnt help being sensitive to all of the interactions with people, services, and facilities that comprised our experience with this hotel. The interactions started with making reservations directly with the front desk at the hotel and included everything else through departure at the airport. The main reason we will stay again at this hotel when we visit El Paso in July is because of the people and the services provided. We spent a lot of time at the hotel so we had a chance to interact frequently with various specific people, all of whom were friendly, accommodating and conversational. They included Miriam and Jacob at the front desk, Brett and Amanda driving the shuttle, Dallas who was our server at dinner, and Alex who had managerial responsibilities. The services we valued the most were the shuttle ride from/to the airport and to our destination in El Paso and the hearty breakfasts being served. The facility itself is dated, but fortunately it is scheduled for renovation starting on April 1st.

When we first arrived we got a room in the back of the property. The gates were broken and anyone could gain access to the property. Our room faced the highway and had high noise from the roads. The stairs to our building and other buildings were closed off and we had to walk two buildings down to get up dark unmaintained stairwells, the rest of the way to that room was dark and unlit-giving an unsettling feeling. The room was freezing when we got inside. We decided to ask for a different room. The front desk was friendly and accommodating of our request. The rooms were very motel-like from the heavy doors that slammed all night, to the loud heating and cooling units by the door and front window. There were many fountains that were dry and not maintained. The restaurant that has dinner hours posted till 10 was closed and did not appear to be open but the hours are still posted as open on the website for the hotel. Would not recommend staying here.

Pass right on by; there are better hotels! Had to go back to front desk twice as key cards didn’t work. Maintenance finally had open our door! Very stingy with coffee cups and absolutely no glasses for drinking. Toilet leaked all over the floor after flushing one time; we got it stopped but toilet in 5108 will need work. Room was clean and staff friendly but I expect better from Holiday Inn! Will not stay here again!!!

To be clear, the staff are all helpful and friendly but the situation is out of their hands. Massively stained carpet in my room, puddles of standing water throughout the property, broken ice machines, and a rat in my room. A rat! Yes, I got a refund but it was offered begrudgingly and I had to repeatedly contact the management to get it. Move on, do not spend your night here.

This stay was booked by my company for me and did not fit my needs at all. It is not all in one building but spread out over a large property with many apartment type buildings with 8-10 units in each. There are various levels so it was a lot of up and down with many stairs and few ramps. It involved much walking and climbing and I'm not good at either. It was difficult to figure out where to park to be as close as possible to your unit. Some rooms were 2 story with staircases. It might be nice for younger people that are in good shape and very active. The staff were not very friendly either. I guess they cater to the young crowd but obviously not the seniors. My room was also not that great. It was not very clean or comfortable. It was hard to believe that this was a Holiday Inn Express. I won't be back.

First time in years at any Holiday Inn. The room was clean, quiet and bed comfy, shower water nice and hot. Jacuzzi in pool area had no working jets just warm water, front desk said had been inop over a month. My mini fridge had no freezer I wanted to put ice cream in. Shower spray pressure was low. The sink faucet and also toilet flush handle were UNattached---I told the front desk about that at 530p and she said maintenance would fix it I came back to the room at 10p nothing had been done.

The lobby is so nice that it made me think the rooms must be great. The gentleman at the front desk was so nice and very enthusiastic about how wonderful the rooms were. Well he was wrong about the room. There were stains ALL over the carpet. There was a giant stain on the chair. I can't believe they would have people stay in a room like that. We checked the beds and they were clean so we stayed because we had traveled for 14 hours. The bathroom was so small and the toilet leaned to the left. At 2 am, the smoke alarm started beeping. Not their fault but they should change the batteries on a regular basis. We got up and left. The gentleman at the front desk gave me a $23 credit but we will never return.

The help is too busy smoking weed in the back too ensure your glass isn't topped off. Menu is decent but they were out of several things. Friendly staff. REALLY LIMITED on wine menu.

I saw pictures in Hotels.com and seemed like the typical quality rooms of Holiday Inn which made me reserve without looking further, to be honest, big mistake. I got a suite because I wanted to have a very nice room, I arrived to this place and the guy from front desk was I don’t know where but it took him like 15 minutes to comeback and finally check me in, he was nice but explained me the maze I have to cross to get to my suite. When I arrived oh my god, the cigarrette smell was so disgusting, but we arrived so tired that I didn’t complain. Then this suite had the living room and the kitchen in the first floor and it had a love motel like circular stairs to get to the bedroom, which was tiny, I hated that I had to carry our bags to a damn circular stair, this is horrible. Totally disgusted by this setup, and it looks dated and ugly. Won’t ever comeback to this place. Horrible suites.

Nice first impression. If you are tired of all hotels looking the same and like some unique on your adventure, this is the place. Is most likely an older hotel that was renovated, which explains why it is unique. The only thing is that because of the layout, I can see where some people will complain. The layout was more like an apartment complex of several buildings, to which you had to walk through passageways that twist and turn, and if you are on an upper floor, take steps up to another series of walkways. It was like a treasure hunt to find the room, but you can consider it part of the adventure - I didnt mind. I did hit my toe on one of the steps going up, as the step was unusually high, but otherwise it was ok. Elderly or those with walking disability should ask for ground level room! The room was unique and more like a resort than a typical hotel room. I would have preferred a window on the back of the room rather than next to the door, because people walk by so you have to keep the curtains closed the whole time - defeats the purpose of a window. The lobby and restaurant were very nice. My waiter was so professional it was more like dining at an exclusive restaurant - that was a very nice surprise. I was so impressed with his performance that I paid a $10 tip for breakfast. Driving into the hotel entrance was tricky as it is located on a busy intersection of a divided road, so you have to do some last minute turns and fast thinking because the traffic is very very aggressive and they are not nice to slow drivers.

Misrepresented. Very dirty and run down. Floors and ceilings were filthy. The room smelled of cigarettes. I did not feel safe. The exterior lighting was poor and there was a lot of party going on in the other rooms. It was a total dump. I wouldn’t recommend it .
