I went into this grocery store like I normally do, hoping to pick up the major items I needed for the week. As a senior citizen, especially in this extreme heat, just getting out to shop can be exhausting. I carefully selected everything I needed, knowing I had my food card from my health insurance to cover the cost.
When I got to the checkout, the cashier told me they did not accept my payment card. This was not only embarrassing but deeply disappointing. This card works at other stores without any problem, and I rely on it to buy groceries. After making the trip, spending my time and energy, and standing in the heat to get there, I had to leave without the items I needed.
It’s upsetting to know that a store serving the public doesn’t offer more flexible payment options, especially for seniors who may have limited mobility, fixed incomes, and specific resources like health insurance food benefits. I truly hope they will reconsider their policies so no one else has to experience what I went through.

Store manager seems to clothes store 15-20 minutes before closing as I was walking away he let another customer in who brought it up to his attention that it was too early. I am blind and struggle to get there in the first place just to be turned away 😞

We are visiting from out of town and went in to buy Muenster cheese. El Paso Muenster cheese tastes so much better than from where we live. I went on website to find what time they close and saw that there was a digital coupon. I really didn’t want to download a new app since we don’t have Food Kings where we live. The FAQ section said I could still use the coupon. As we were paying I showed the cashier the coupon. She said she was new and didn’t or couldn’t take a coupon if it’s not on the app. She called her supervisor and she was rather rude. She said it could only be a coupon from the app. I showed her what the website said and she still said no. So Food City either needs to train their people better or update the website.

The old cashier is so rude all the time it’s like she hates her job. My mom asked her to bag the sodas for her and she told her “next time ask your daughter to help you”. I was at work so I couldn’t help her out. I don’t understand it’s so hard to be greatfull, you have a job, and treat others as you wish to be treated.
