The customer service phone number is horrible. I’ve been on hold for over 15 mins and haven’t been connected to an employee. I’m not able to access my online banking account, which is a concern. The bank needs to invest in staffing their call lines to meet their client needs.

This company makes it very hard to make payments, they report payments incorrectly and miss report to the credit bureau. They make it hard to get a record of transactions to dispute their errors. They don't reply back to emails or voicemails.

My car loan with my ex wife was with GECU. It started out great until my separation with my wife where she took the car and sold it after the divorce. The car dealership and GECU had a disagreement for over a month plus where GECU blamed us for not paying the loan when the car was already sold. The dealership sent the check multiple times but GECU denied the check multiple times pass the 30 day mark. This as you can imagine hit my credit score dropping it 33 points. I disputed the score because it was between the dealership and GECU banking. GECU then again lied and the dispute on my credit score didn't go through. Now I have a lower score with a missed payment due to GECU's issue with how a payoff check was wrote. I recommend not using this bank nor will I ever use this bank again for personal loans or even banking as they were not willing to work with and then lied to me and the disputing office about what happened.

This review reference GECU's website (deserves 'The Worst Internet Website' award), and Auto-Payment (which doesn't function--at all-- ) Totally disappointed in GECU--But, GECU has great employees. Really Managment--you guys need to either resign, OR, fix your deficiencies --

It's not the best GECU but it isn't the worst one either. It's not my first option but if I need to pull money out and I'm near Sunland Park or driving down Mesa, I'll stop by really quick. I have gone inside one time and it wasn't the best experience so I tend to stick to just their ATMs to pull money out. Their ATM area is very tight and it's not the best managed because there is no clear way for people to drive in and people end up piling in from both sides of the street. I'm shocked there haven't been more accidents (I'm sure there have been to be honest because it's that badly built). If you absolutely need to take money out then go here but if you can go to any other GECU, I'd recommend the other ones.

Wow! This GECU location only has a two-star rating! I didn't think my visit the other day was bad. My situation was a little bit weird. I deposited cash into their ATM machine on a Sunday morning. I don't think their ATM machine was working properly. My deposit didn't show up in my bank account that day or on Monday. Also, their app and website were down for some time on Sunday. I had to wait until Tuesday to go and speak to them about my situation. I couldn't go on Monday because they were going to closed for Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day. For some reason, it seems like their app and computer messes up when a holiday comes up from time to time. Why is that?? Anyway, when I went to talk to them on Tuesday the place was super packed! I had to wait about 15 or 20 minutes for someone to help me out. Not too bad considering the crowd. The young lady who assisted me was polite and pretty quick with resolving my issue. She asked me some questions and filled out a form. She didn't really know why the deposit wasn't showing up on the app or website/my bank statement. She did some paperwork and told me the deposit would show up that afternoon. It showed up at around 1 pm. Overall, this GECU has been pretty efficient and helpful when visiting inside. I've gone in a few other times. I usually use their ATM outside to make a deposit or withdraw money. I hardly ever go inside. I had to this time because that was pretty much the only way they could resolve my issue. I've been using GECU for about six or seven years now. I had Chase before and they weren't bad. Both of these have been about the same. The worst bank I've ever worked with was Wells Fargo. Try GECU if you're in the El Paso area. Their employees are mostly nice and helpful. They also get the job done.

No currency exchange, they don't return calls, tellers are clueless, you have to take care of bank business at multiple places, customer service sucks....all around clueless. I joined this bank because it's near our home....time to look for a better bank; shouldn't be difficult.

I usually don’t post bad reviews but this was an especially awful experience. I want to start out by saying despite the awful and unprofessional experience we had, the ladies at the front were extremely friendly. Amanda at the front was very helpful, and her supervisor whose name I did not catch was also great. We do not bank with GECU however we sold a vehicle to a gentleman who was getting the loan with GECU. We met him at the bank at 12pm on Saturday, they close at 2. We waited over an hour to sit down to do the paperwork, no big deal. In the middle of everything 2 o’clock comes around and they inform us that we would sign the title paperwork and be on our way, everything would be finished up Monday since they were closing. Super super unprofessional but I thought again, no big deal I let the gentleman take the vehicle. On Monday all the paperwork was completed and we were told we could pick up a rather large check on Tuesday. Tuesday morning we get another email saying the check was ready. So we have two emails stating the check is ready to be picked up. My husband and I both take off work early to go get the check. We received an email stating they would not give us the check until the gentleman who was getting the loan added $20 to his account. I called and it went to the main number so I asked for a supervisor, I explained the situation and was told they would call me right back. With no call back I emailed the loan officer back and informed her we would be there at 4 to get the check and that whatever money he owed did not involve us considering we had already signed the vehicle over to GECU. She did not respond to that email so 2 hours later we head to the bank. Keep in mind, paperwork is already signed, the guy has our car, and they are now holding our check hostage until this guy gives them $20. Long story short, my husband and I had to put $20 in this guys account in order for GECU to release our money to us regardless of the fact that the loan was approved and we had already signed our vehicle over to the bank and the deposit account had absolutely nothing to do with us.

This is a dishonest organization, do not bank with them. I have used credit unions before and been very happy. GECU on the other hand operates like a bank with predatory fees and dishonest practices. Such as placeling longer than usual holds on checks and then charging fees for every transaction that comes through while they hold the check. I just closed my account and I would encourage anyone thinking about using them to go elsewhere. The staff is also completely worthless and rude.

This guy right here is the most disrespectful uneducated individual I’ve ever seen in a bank, you guys need to really step up your game to chase customer service cause this one ain’t cutting it for you guys, no greeting, no asking for assistance or whatsoever, been here 2 to 3 times and it’s always the same with this dude and and ifYou are going to come to this location expect to be here for a looong time yo speak to a real person regarding account issues or anything of the similar
