I’ve been staying in the RV park across the street from this little place and the smells have been incredible. The aroma of grilled meat and onions was driving me crazy! Last night we walked over because neither of us could stand it anymore. This place is somewhere between a dive and a dump but the food was worth it. The owner bragged that he started the place with only $100. I can assure you nothing was spent on the décor then or since. Everything is in poor condition but seems clean enough. When we entered the owner emerged from a very dark and creepy corner of the place to wait on us. Although I didn’t ask for his opinion, he told me (not suggested) what to order. This was after 7-8 minutes of assaulting us with his political opinions and views. He actually sat down to carry on his one sided conversation. I didn’t ask for that either. Maybe I was “profiled” politically and he thought that stuff would make me happy. It didn’t. I’m here to eat dude, I don’t care. Keep your opinions to yourself. Throughout the meal he continued to brag about his food. He demanded to know where the best burger we’ve ever had was. Said his was better. Also not appreciated. I’m already here, I’m eating, I’ll make up my own mind. He was arrogant, pushy, and irritating. The menu is small with only a few items but he makes what you like the way you want it if you can get past him telling you what to get (two of everything.) We both had burgers and fries. He also brought us out a sample of his house made green chili sauce, which was to die for. They have canned sodas and a few types of bottled beer. You walk to the other side of the diner, into that dark creepy, corner to buy your beer (cash only) from Momma. A reminder, this place is cash only as are many small businesses in this part of the country.
